Morning...

Looks like I missed quite a bit yesterday. I've been home from work yesterday and today with some bug that DS decided to share. Went to the Dr. yesterday and they gave me anti-biotics even though DS's Dr said it was a virus and my strep test was negative. :confused3 My fever finally broke last night and I'm feeling a little better now, but yesterday and the night before I was pretty much out of it.

Glad you are feeling better Andy.

Unfortunately, my job is taking a turn in the next few weeks. Not losing it... just being "re-tooled". Man I hate that phrase. Going to have a new location, new boss, and new type of work... and I had no say in the matter. Seems the VP has a new vision of how our dept should be running. None of the worker bees believe it's a smart move, but who are we to have an opinion? :confused3

But I still have a job! :thumbsup2
That doesn't look like much fun. By new location, do you mean across the building, across town, or what? :confused3

:thumbsup2 Same card here. And yes... debit cards have different designs. Also, I have been harassed greatly by Chase to "upgrade" to their Preimier credit card which offers better reward incentives. They also have additional designs. But I'm not about to pay the $49 yearly fee for the "upgrade".
I actually did the upgrade a couple of months ago. They came out with a promotion for $100 in rebates if you signed up for it and made a purchase by the end of the month. I figured that alone would cover the first 2 years, and I'd be able to see if the extra % on gas, grocery, etc would make it worthwhile. I'm already seeing the difference and since most of what we use our CC for is gas and groceries, I don't think we'll have any problem coming out ahead.

It's never too late to change, just have to plan ahead and do it.

Beautiful theory spoiled by ugly reality. I good make a change if my kids didn't mind living in a car and eating out of a dumpster, but at this stage in life it is too late to change until the kids are on their own.

I've thought hard about a career change, but it would be awful hard to make a change and still provide for my family. Plus I have a pension, and that's a benefit that is really, really hard to give up.

Morning fellas,

Still no power, but I hear the roar of chainsaws on my street so hopefully we will be back in business soon.

Is it your chainsaw? Would be a shame if you didn't get to play, too.

Waiting to hear about this career change... popcorn::

If it's like my job, when they want your opinion, they'll give it to you.

Late night watching the gymnastics. My kids were watching too much swimming. They tore the bedding off my bed and were jumping off the bed into the "pool" they made at the foot of the bed. At swimming lessons earlier this week DD was trying the back stroke when she was just supposed to be doing the back float. Fun times. :thumbsup2

You're secretly proud, aren't you? :thumbsup2

Morning..

Same storms got us real good up north here and we don't have power. A branch knocked down a line on our street.

Nice night out, only problem is we are on a well for water and no power means no water. Because we are on the river I got a bucket of water and now we can use the washroom.
This ain't so bad....

That's not good at all....reminds me of losing power when we were at the trailer, hope it's back on soon.

We got the same storm as well... then again, I am half way between you guys... ;)

But man was that coming down! but only for about an hour... then the sun was shining, birds were chirping, and it was like it never happened.

Lasted longer then that here, maybe because we are right on the Lake?:confused3 The worst of it was that first hour, but lingered after. Sun tried to break out shortly after then another mild storm rolled in afterwards. Sun never came out till around 4:30-5. I saw the weather forcast call for it the night before so was somewhat prepared for it.

It was funny, a friend of Amelia's dad called not to ong before hand to let us know they'd be at the pool that afternoon, I said we were undecided at that point, but looked out the window thinking it won't happen, it was starting to get dark. Pool wouldn't have even opened.

Still no power, but I hear the roar of chainsaws on my street so hopefully we will be back in business soon.

Good news, hope it won't be long.

Yikes, sick in the summer sucks. Hope you and DS feel better soon.

I just saw this. I am not sure if I like the duplicity.

Don't mind it, a lot better then "Avatar Land" (likely cause still haven't seen it yet, not really rushing to either). I'd still like to see a "Monsters Inc" coaster like the rumours keep saying.

Different city... but still about the same commute I have now. Will be even more "corporate" than where I'm at now. All the VPs are at the new location.

Well now if they had done THAT promo for me I would have jumped on it.

:lmao: So true

Another point to this that does annoy me, is how everyone is so worried about the great Harry Potter juggernaut and how to counter it. I'd say ...don't. I like HP just fine mind you, but it's a finite franchise, with real plans to go further. They can add more lands etc, but to what effect? Eventually there will be nother new to add. Disney keeps growing, adding new movies and opening new possibilities. There can always be new dimensions to add to their parks. It's kinda like what we have to say to some people at work, "Don't worry about what other people are doing, worry about yourself."

Interesting rumor. I'd be a fan of it, as I'm not sure how often I'll ever get to head out to California to see Cars Land, and the reviews I've heard are amazing, so having one in WDW would be great.

That is great news. Thanks for the info.

I know the resorts did this a few months ago. I felt ripped off with the WiFi charge when I simply wanted to check my emails on my laptop after a day in the parks or in the morning when I woke up. I know I didn't go to Disney to be on the computer all the time, but the extra charge seemed excessive and unnecessary to me.

On another positive note, I will be able to easily participate in the DIS Dad's Fantasy Football draft now directly from Disney World!!

‘Morning all…
And ain’t it a lovely day…

Forgot about hockey, so I'll give you that, even though we're talking pro sports vs a college program. You also have the Toronto Raptors and Brian. Enough said.

NCAA Div 1 amateurs. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And I will counter the Raptors with Charlotte.

Now, I gott’a defend Norm on that last point. The argument was between the Nation of Canada and the “nation” of Kentucky. There ain’t a sole in his corner of the word that has anything to do with just how stunningly bad the Bobcats are (and they are awful to be sure, but that ain’t Kentucky’s fault).

Must have been a heck of a storm. Glad y’all are doing well.

I went through similar nonsense on six different occasions. Not fun. Hopefully there won’t be too much pain and suffering (lord knows that “management” wouldn’t care, but we can still hope).

You need to work with your boy on that sharing thing. There are times when one can be too generous. Heal up quickly sir.

Interesting… Being as Test Track exists at Epcot though; the “Racers” attraction probably would not be included in an east coast version. It seems to me that thay’d do better picking a different Pixar franchise to anchor at DHS. That way, they could devise a completely new experience (which DHS certainly needs)

Monsters would be a better fit in Orlando then installing a second Sierra Nevada landscape.

That however, is a great idea.
