am I the only one in the DDc that does not really care for Illuminations??? To me the major cloud of smoke just ruins it for me. I like to see the fireworks and not a big smoke screen.I would take wishes over it any day of the week... What are your thoughts?

Wishes (and its variations) is my favourite but I enjoy Illuminations as well. The last few times we have watched from Rose N Crown so we always get to see it in comfort in a less crowded area.

Yeah we met family visiting over there at rose and crown last year also for Illuminations. That seems to be a really nice not so crowned spot. We didn't plan it. Just had dinner there and then we were talking and spending time catching up all of a sudden it was dark and they were announcing it.

Maybe I just to view it differently If you take pictures of Wishes you get nice firework shots. If you take pictures of Illuminations you get smoke. Maybe I should try viewing it from Germany Maybe it will be better for me.

I guess you are right about the smoke in the pictures bit, but I think it can add a nice touch.

I'm with you guys.

I can get to WDW from my house without a map. However, I need a park map to get from the DHS entrance to Muppetvision 3D. I never can remember the best way to go.

Of all the random posts I just skimmed through, this one just made me laugh a little bit.

Ok, I like Illuminations, but I put it behind Wishes and on somewhat equal footing with Fantasmic!

I think the music and the emotions evoked in Illuminations are probably a little more meaningful than the other night shows, but the globe in the middle kind of kills it for me. For one thing, It really isn't very big. It is hard to really see what is going on there, and it really lasts too long. More fireworks would definitely be an improvement.

I will say though, the fire barge is awesome on a cool night in December.

Had an interesting incident at work. I'm dealing blackjack to a bunch of 18 year olds. They have no clue what they are doing. One is a blonde who is very chatty and never played before. She has a 20 and I hiit one of my five card 21s. She shouts, "Are you ****ing me?"

I actually quite enjoy Illuminations. Something about the music that gets to me.

I especially love watching it with first-timers.

Wishes is great too.

I like illuminations, but the only show better than Wishes is Hallo Wishes.

Either from there of the Rose & Crown (depending on which type of brew you prefer).

I’ll agree that Iluminations is a bit smoky. The action takes place at a lower altitude (I suspect so that it doesn’t compete directly with Wishes). But I’m with Scott about the music being more engaging. As a musician, that gets my attention so I see the Epcot show as more exciting, but Wishes is more of a visual treat.

I'm definetly more of a Wishes fan. Illuminations is OK but you are right about the amount of smoke and the long pause from the fireworks in the middle with the pictures on the globe just slow down the whole show for me. I also liked it better when each of the countries had a more active roll in the show.

I hear that they are going to be revamping this show soon closer to what it was and getting rid of the video globe.

Now that you mention it, I usually am 3-6 drinks in by the time I watch it!!!!
