I would rather take a chance on getting to AK late and hoping KS's line isn't that bad than to miss out on TSMM by getting to DHS late.

Plus, if you have any interest in ToT or RnRC, then you'll want to get to DHS early and not miss those or be late and be subject to a long line.

Just my thoughts....others feel free to chime in. :thumbsup2

thank you for the advice, we may get be able to get there earlier, it might come down to a day of decision, I have discovered theres alot to think about while planning a WDW trip haha but its good to be able to talk to others who have done it before and can share the pros and cons

I 100% disagree with that dumb plan laid out by Scott.

That being said, I agree fully with how Scott laid it out!

Today was a rough day, my DD4, I love her with all my heart, has been acting out at daycare and throwing fits to finally I told her if she didnt behave our Disney trip would be cancelled (very bad bluff cuz I want to go prob more then she does) and I told her she would be able to have one of these:

well i hope that got her attention cuz I really want one too!

My boy went through a short period of that (a long, long time a go). Now every one is different, but the thing that fixed the problem for us was when he had to apologize for his actions. I asked the head of the daycare if she’d mind having all the other young’ens gather round for just a moment so that my boy could tell them all that he was sorry for the way he had acted. She did and the boy had to get in front of the entire group and explain himself. To this day he’ll tell you that having to own that and give himself the blame was the single worst punishment he’d ever endured.

Like I said, not every one will respond the same to every circumstance, but your comment reminded me of that story.

Winter Summerland - Who's done it?

Reviews?

If I do go, which side should I do?

We intended to get over there, but fouled up the scheduling. We did get to Fantasia Gardens and thought it was one of the best mini-golf courses we had ever played. Given that Sumerland is newer (and still Disney), I expect that either side would end up being a whole lot of fun.

This is the first trip I have planned and I know their are flaws but I need alittle advice, out of AK and HS which would yall arrive late at (around noon) as it is right now I have it where we r going to HS shortly after getting in (ive heard TSMM fast passes will be gone by then and the wait of course will be long, on the other hand ive been told that same thing about KS at AK. any advice

I'd go to Ak as well. KS can be mageable later in the afternoon, and you should be able to fast pass EE. Toy Story, ToT and RnR all are pretty busy n the afternoon... Just my 2 cents...

Finally back and too tired to try post padding. I'll settle for a barely respectable this thread as it is the best descriptor of myself anyhow.

Another road trip on tap tomorrow. Almost looking forward to August when things "should" slow down a bit.

Wednesday ownage.

We've done Fantasia, walking distance from BWV. Can't help.

AK has some great attractions, but your dd is probably too young for dinosaur ride or EE. So, you are really only looking at KS, Nemo Show, and Festival of Lion King. AK also closes earlier than other parks.

DHS has RNRC & TOT, which are too big for your dd, but they have more stuff that she could do - Playhouse Disney, Ariel show, Belle Show, TSM, Star Tours, Muppets, etc.

Even though I like AK better earlier, if I am going to have a short park day, I would make that AK and save DHS when I can be in that park all day. Warning - I am part of commando group that does wear underwear, but we go RD to Park Close. I did let my girls have naps that age, but it was difficult.

stay and play, most likely around Louisville

I'm 2 hours away, not that that would provide an incentive. I might be able to meet you. Louisville Slugger Museum, chocolate restaurant, and a little further drive to distillaries. Or, you can just take your kids to downtown water area for extra hydogen in their water. That's where I met up with Mark.

Too tired to post pad? What is this?

Ah. The county fair. Hot dogs and deep fried twinkies. Almost perfect but something's missing. Deep fried bacon?

Yum.

I saw deep fried butter once......... I turned to the wife said pleasssssseeeeee!

Not for me. Just fry my bacon in it.

DW threatened that too. I told her not to waste her breath because we were going.

I've had that issue too. What I do is make a Mickey behavior chart. When DD has ten good stickers in a row, we send it to Mickey for his okay. He sends a Disney dollar to use on vacation. When we have two or more sad stickers in a row, we send it to Donald and he gives us a task to do to tell Mickey about. That usually gets DD back on track.

Plus DHS has Star tours. Don't forget star tours!

Ok. I'll post pics but today ranks pretty high on the awesome factor:
1) work didn't suck
2) DD had her first karate class
3) my Disneyland book came from amazon
4) my Disney store package arrived
5) DD got to race live ducks and won twice (against other ducks, not her)
6) we both got to play with snakes and DD was a champ
7) I ate a fried Twinkie
8) I have a disdads meet on Saturday

Thanks for letting me cheer. I don't get non vacation days like this often!! And I know you all have totally awesome kids too.

Night all, especially my hero Paul!!!

Hey guys!

Bad news: had to leave WDW today. :(

Good news: got to meet up with Fed! I'll post the picture when I get home. He thought my minivan was a "pretty sweet ride".
