DIS Dads DDC XXI - Passing Time Until Our Next Trip

Afternoon guys,

Ugly rainy day today. A nasty storm blew through here a little while ago. Spent the downtime updating my TR.

The 8th is when we are doing MNSSHP, that would be cool to meet up if yall are there the same night. have yall already figured out what costumes yall are doing? I understand the blood quote, I feel the same way, my daughters been through a tough time this past year, im a single dad and her mom isnt around alot, so its been a tough adjustment for her, and even though this trip isnt going to magically make her feel better, if it makes her smile for a few days, weeks, months or years its well worth it.

Welcome moose. There are a few single dads here. My DD is 18 and going to college in the fall. She lost her mom a few years ago. Even though we separated before long before then we tried to both be there for the kid. It is hard on them. I am sure that Disney will bring a smile to her face. That and knowing her dad is going to be there for her

...As for costumes, one night we are going as a soccer team. I coach my youngest's soccer team and will have jerseys for all of us to match. Not looking forward to the tall socks in the heat, but will survive. We are doing a second MNSSHP for the first time this year. Not sure what that costume will be. Oldest has her Alice Dress she wants to wear, but I don't know if I want to the matching costumes in the heat.

I would pay BIG TIME to see pictures of you in an Alice dress. Now you have to do it. Might even be worth making a trip to Orlando just to see it.

Dave is a great guy and has been to WDW a million times. Now, he just charges people for a part of the vacation - today's work estimate will buy us dinner at Le Cellier. We can't boost it anymore.

That sounds great, we are getting in around 10am on the 7th, going to HS asap, then we made sure to have the 8th free except for MNSSHP (i highly doubt my DD could last a park and MNSSHP) thats the night shes doing BBB,then the 9th we will prob have to sleep in alittle and go to AK once we get going, then we saved MK for the 10th and CRT for the afternoon, the morning of the 8th we will prob relax and swim and maybe go to DTD and walk around, lets all def do a meet up, could def use some WDW and MNSSHP tips. and im pretty sure this is my 10th post yay!!!!! i think i had a few deleated for whatever reason though

Sounds good. The first ever DisDad MNSSHP Meet. I may have missed how old you dd was, but it looks like your schedule is good. For the first three years with out dds, we did naps every afternoon but I wanted to go to park end. Since we joined DVC and know we'll go back to WDW every year, we now only do theme parks every other day and enjoy downtime and the resort in between. There are lots of tips here, but if you have any specific questions, let me know. Sounds like you know what you're doing since you booked CRT & BBB.

My dd is 4 &1/2 and MNSSHP is going to be the first time ive dressed up with her for Halloween so im excited, shes going to be Minnie and Im going to be Jack Skellington, the afternoon breaks and naps are going to be a life saver for us, i went to EC and US in early Jan with some friends so we decided to skip it on this trip, I know she will love it when she gets older so its def on the next trips plan, I think we were lucky to be able to space out stuff where she wont be too worn out, esp. for MNSSHP,CRT and the spacing luckily worked out great, the original trip I booked was the 8th through the 10th, and somehow I found an ADR for CRT and an open LM room at AoA so we could expand the trip by a day and allow alittle breathing room
