Hey there.. is there room in this cave for one more?
I've been streaming DIS Radio through the TiVo for a few years, and finally decided to check out this DISboards.com they're a part of. Jehosaphat, this place is hoppin'!! Wait, what's the preferred term... oh yeah.. JASMINES KISS this place is still incredible!!
Just so y'all know, I can't claim as many of the qualifications as most of you can, but some do apply, especially the ones about getting more excited than the rest of the family when plans are being made (like now... 25 DAYS to go!!!!) Also, my wife told me repeatedly to stop reading the DISdads board last night... said I was getting too many ideas.
So anyway, if you let me in, I've got a good Splash Mountain pic to share. Not quite as good as the famous one, but I was proud of ours 'til I saw that one.

GREETINGS!

Welcome!

Only 1 more day. This has been a long week. I get home tomorrow, soccer practice with youngest, oldest has dance class, and then we get in the van and head to Hilton Head. This week has seemed extra long, probably because of the pending vacation, 150 miles, and 11 hour days. I will get the new BWV check and contract out tonite, pack, and be ready to go.
Have a great trip Norm!

Remember the firend of mine from work, taking his whole family to WDW, who I tried to help, and didn't really want the help. He said he was going to let the "girls plan it all, so he doesn't get blamed".

Well, guess what... ;)

He called me this morning at 10:00 am...

Him: Hey Brian, what was the name of that Steakhouse you said to try?
Me: Ummmm, Le Cellier?
Him: Yeah, that's it. Where is it?
Me: In Epcot, I thought you said the girls made a reservation there.
Him: I thought so to, but they didn't
Me: I doubt you'll be getting in there. So how's your trip so far?
Him: Great, yesterday we went to "The Magic Kingdom" (Yes that's exactly what he said). Today we are going to Hollywood Studios
Me: It's 10:00 am, do you know how fastpasses work yet?
Him: Yeah, we used one yesterday
Me: Well within an hour all the TSM fastpasses will be gone, and you will have to wait minimum 90 minutes standby. And does your 6 year old grandson like Star Wars
Him: Yeah, he loves it.
Me: Well, if you don't sign up for Jedi Training quickly he won't get in there either.
Him: They are still sleeping, we had a late night last night it was EMH
Me: Do you like firework type shows?
Him: Yeah, it was awesome last night
Me: Make sure you go see Fantasmic! tonight, it's a one of a kind show like you've never seen before. For that you should be there 90 minutes early.
Him: I don't know if the girls want to see that, they saw it last night.

:sad2:

Me: Ok, have a great trip, tell me all about it when you get back.

I hate saying "I told ya so..." and I am sure he will have a great time...but for the 15k it is costing him to take his whole family, children and grand children... I think (seriously) taking a few pointers wouldn't have hurt.

Oh, and he's been using all his counter serve credits in the resort food court. - but he does say the food is awesome. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
When we went the first time we didn't have a clue and we had the best vacation. We even called the day of to get an ADR at CM and got dinner at 7.

i learned my lesson a long time ago. if someone ask me, ill tell them "what we do." im going to get one of two answers. one, nah, were gonna wing it or two, what do you mean. what do you mean, ill throw my two cents in. the nah, ill wing it, i tell them have a good time.
after the wing it gets back, they tell me, how can you put up with that three weeks out of a year!! no place to eat and the lines are so long. i just laugh.
I don't like discussing Disney details with anyone who doesn't get it either... I just keep it generic and say we just like it there. :rolleyes1

Congratulations!

I miss that stage I think. We were so sleep deprived the first 6 months it is a wonder the kids survived.

There are probably some too young here to get that joke. Hilarious!...

I met up with an FFA teacher today who was evaluating one of my summer employees who is up for an award. I noticed she had a UTK ring on and said "I got my Masters at Knoxville."
"When did you graduate?"
"1986"
"I was born in 1986."

:headache:

'Zactley... :thumbsup2

And I know they will have a great time... it's Disney afterall.

But what they don't know is how much greater it coulda been.

Our little secret. ;)

And this is why I'm not looking forward to having my sisters family at WDW the same time as me, last year I was trying to give them info, but they didn't want to listen, they had a crappy time, this year they are all on board but I'm not going for it they are on their own:snooty:

i hear ya!!! just extra baggage holding you down!! COMMANDO!!! :thumbsup2

We are getting old. Have a great trip.

:sad2: I'm not old! Just a kid stuck in an 41 year old's body! :lmao:

You have a great trip too!

My boss took his first trip to Disney a few weeks ago with his young kids. Before he left he was looking for some pointers. I told him to be careful about getting me started talking about Disney! :rotfl2:

Caught up and calling it a night though I am too wired to sleep. Another "interesting" day. Time to string the hops tomorrow if the weather is decent and a short day on Friday.

Think I will check the freezer for some leftover Butterfinger pie and sharpen the straight razor. That is usually relaxing.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: How tall are you?? At 6'2" I've been concerned about that but never had an issue. Like you, I'd have been VERY upset if I couldn't ride their coasters.... that's the only reason to go!

I'm 6'6", I could sit in the seat fine but when I brought the harness down it hit my shoulders and even though it was locked in they said it wasn't far enough down.:headache:

The bars on Aerosmith come down to about the same point, that same trip the CM just looked at me and said "yeah, you're not going anywhere.

Sad news...Earl Scruggs died.

Here is Steve Martin and Earl doing Foggy Mountain Breakdown.

For those of you who don't think you have heard Earl play, you have. He played the theme to The Beverly Hillbillies.

I know why some animals eat their young. DD was supposed to be home to pack for the trip, wash the mutt I did not want and do some minor clean up chores around the house. Instead she decides to help out a friend with math.

Long story but it still isn't done and my blood pressure is rising. She assures me, "It will get done." Am mad but can't really destroy her because she was helping a friend.

Why did I reproduce?

You get it or you don't. The people who do not plan, make it easier on us who do. They wander aimlessly around while we navigate and execute our precise game plan :thumbsup2
