And THAT'S the way DIS Dads roll :cool2: I can't believe you were able to utter those words though (Universal Stu.........):rotfl2:

I have no problem saying them since every time they come out of my mouth it is part of a negative reference:headache:.

I've kind of had it out for them ever since I went to Islands of Adventure and found out that I was too tall for the ride restraint system they use, and since they used the same system on all their rides, I could not ride any coasters.

I tried to speak to their guest services for some kind of compensation since according to them I was handicapped and couldn't ride any coasters. Their response was basically "Yeah, but you could do all the other things like the parades and shows."

I know you're just messin' with me....you can make it up to me by buying me a dole whip at the convention. :thumbsup2

I'm planning on trying to post as many pics as I can to the DisDads group page on Facebook. I think that will be the easiest to do on the fly.

I know I love to live vicariously through others when they've posted pics during their trip, so I will do my best to do the same. :wizard:

Love this!!!

Maybe I can pass you off as my adopted son and trick Barry into buying it for you. :lmao:

FB is the easiest way to do it. I'll be looking forward to your pics! :thumbsup2 <-- ;)

Being that I'm about the same age as you - I don't think we'd be able to pull it off.

Who am I kidding....it's Barry.....it just might work!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

Love this!!!

I've enjoyed your facebook trip pics, hope you enjoy mine!

Hey there.. is there room in this cave for one more?
I've been streaming DIS Radio through the TiVo for a few years, and finally decided to check out this DISboards.com they're a part of. Jehosaphat, this place is hoppin'!! Wait, what's the preferred term... oh yeah.. JASMINES KISS this place is still incredible!!
Just so y'all know, I can't claim as many of the qualifications as most of you can, but some do apply, especially the ones about getting more excited than the rest of the family when plans are being made (like now... 25 DAYS to go!!!!) Also, my wife told me repeatedly to stop reading the DISdads board last night... said I was getting too many ideas.
So anyway, if you let me in, I've got a good Splash Mountain pic to share. Not quite as good as the famous one, but I was proud of ours 'til I saw that one.

GREETINGS!

WELCOME!!!

:scared1::scared1::scared1: How tall are you?? At 6'2" I've been concerned about that but never had an issue. Like you, I'd have been VERY upset if I couldn't ride their coasters.... that's the only reason to go!

Our local Disney Store is currently under reconstruction...:sad2:

Back from the Disney store at the mall, got the ears:thumbsup2, 2 of the Anniversary Vinylmations:thumbsup2 & 25% off

Now its time to use the ears and see if can win the vacation for 4 to Aulani, come on you knew there had to be a reason I HAD to have the ears
great score ron!!!
I survived the Disney Store Ear Giveaway!

Chris, Couldn't find the pins, but then again, I couldn't find anything That I didn't already know where it was because there had to be at least 50 strollers in the store:scared1:! No kids in them, they were running around elsewhere.

Took 40 minutes just to wait in line then get my ears since they were limiting the number of people in the store at once. I was standing in line to pay, the line went across the middle of the store and then turned at the side wall, of course a new line started forming in 2 separate directions. Two ladies started arguing who was next and where the "real line" was, I turned around and told them "Smarten up! You're at The Disney Store not Universal Studios!". Word must have goten around because by the time I got to the register the CM thanked me for my crowd control.:rotfl2:

Welcome, tell your wife the DISDad's said you don't have to stop reading, and we have WAY better ideas what you should do on your upcoming trip.

Let us know how it goes, we'll be waiting.:rotfl2:
popcorn::popcorn:::laughing:popcorn::popcorn::
glad you made it out of there alive! :thumbsup2
Hey guys.. I survived the free ears giveaway as well.

I got to the mall about 10 minutes before the Disney Store opened and I was about the 100th person in line. The store opened right at 10 and the CMs handed out vouchers for the hats. The line moved pretty quickly and by 10:10 I had my ears in hand. The entire store was 25% off and I started browsing. It was hard to navigate with the stroller since I had Christopher with me. I couldn't find the limited edition vinylmation. I asked the CM and they were behind the counter. She handed me 2 and said they only received 44 of them. I ended up buying 4 tshirts too. Here are a few pics....

CONGRATS CARL!!! :thumbsup2

The drive commute to the new office building is 10 minutes, 8 miles away. I think there are 3 stoplights. It is a little longer in the morning when I drive children to school.

Thanks for helping put my commute in perspective. :lmao: Sometimes it's the only "me" time I get during the day though. If I had a shorter commute, I'd leave the house later and spend that time doing chores or something.

You are 100% correct.... I didn't go because.....

And here's the because.

I had tickets for Games 1, 6, and 7 of that series.

I went to Game 1.

They then traveled to Philly, and returned for Game 6 up 3-2.

I couldn't really afford all the tix I bought (but bought them anyways). So I decide to do the responsible thing, and only go to 1 more game (either 6 or 7). And I KNEW that if I went to 6 and they lost, there's NO WAY I'd be able to give up game 7.

So I gave up game 6, with the intent of heading to Game 7 if it went that far.

Little did I know, it would end as one of the biggest home runs of all time. :sad2:

I did sell the tickets for double face value (which end up paying for me to see game 1).

Oh, and I sold the game 7 tix for a cool $5 over face value as well. :thumbsup2
I went down to the Skydome for the refund of the unplayed game, and while I was there a guy asked me if I would sell him the unused ticket as a souveneir. I was there for the refund so took his cash instead... :rotfl2:

100% true story.

wow. can't believe someone paid more than face value for a ticket to a game that never happened. :confused3

Thank you guys for the congrats!! But being 42 and a grandpa... Don't know how I feel about that. I guess starting my family early was awesome cause I had two move out at 38 but being a grandpa at 42..:scared1:

Mornin' Guys....

Hard to believe I only have....

3 Days!

I'll be more excited when I can check-in for my flight on Friday and have those Boarding Passes printed and in my hand!

Have fun. Looking forward to any pics you post on FB.

Tim, awesome Disney Store swag... way to go.

Scott, I saw that you will be posting on FB, ignore my question earlier (not that you wouldn't have already ;) ) :rotfl2:

I just found out last night they are opening a Disney Store in the mall 10 minutes from my house... Supposed to open in June... Now I am stoked!

Leaving tomorrow for our NE college tour. Haven't started packing yet or getting the house in order before we leave. Did check the weather in NY low of 35 tomorrow. What fun. The rest of the weekend is better but still 30 degrees colder than here.
.

Have a safe trip and keep warm.

Thanks for helping put my commute in perspective. :lmao: Sometimes it's the only "me" time I get during the day though. If I had a shorter commute, I'd leave the house later and spend that time doing chores or something.

Glad I can help. I've had the 75 min drive 1 way each day this weeks. It tires me out.

Thank you guys for the congrats!! But being 42 and a grandpa... Don't know how I feel about that. I guess starting my family early was awesome cause I had two move out at 38 but being a grandpa at 42..:scared1:

Grandpa at 42. Yeah, you did get them out of the house earlier. I'll be 49 before I get both of them in college or out the door.
