If you are going to go to Hilton Head then eat at Skull Creek Boathouse..we LOVE it!!! Cant wait to go bck in august!!

SIL lives in Savannah. Skip Paula's. Huge crowds and you need to sign up early the day of for lunch. Then you come back. Heard the food was good, not great. Lots of better restaurants in Savannah. Really good seafood. Wish I could remember any of them.

Thanks for both tips. As for the toes, they are still sore, but will watch them. I will try to convince DW not to eat at Paula Dean's restaurant, but might not win that one.

That is my posting strategy. I don't reply to all posts, but read them all.

Had a good day today. In the afternoon, took the kids to the park. While we were there, a young woman was having a tough time with her bratty kid and she had to forcefully remove him from the playground.

Well, sure enough, the young woman had bared his backside and gave him a good spanking over on a bench about 50 yards away. The mom who gasped was furious and raced off to put a stop to it.

Then I heard her and her group discussing whether or not they should call the cops.

My $.02. You have three thoughts with this. I was spanked as a child and initially spanked my child. But, I stopped because it wasn't any more effective than anything else. I still yell too much at times, but try not to do that. But, that is my choice.

Which is the 2nd point, it is not illegal to spank a child. We can debate the merits, but since it is not illegal, it is a parenting choice.

Then, the third point is the public intervention and that TV show, what would you do. Even if something is illegal, people still think they should intervene and put themselves in harms way in order to convince the wrong doer to do things the right way. People say, "stand up to a bully", but bullies sometimes travel in packs, carry guns, and/or Spiderman may not be there to rescue them. I am all for calling the police if there is the need for intervention, but not self-promoting Barney Fife.

Y’all woke up from our afternoon slumber and got chatty last night. We spent the evening traveling and enjoying another music competition (which went very, very well for our kids), so again I’m behind the curve here. Let me see if I can catch up here (y’all feel free to ignore me, I’m use to that as it is)…

Day one of farm safety days is in the books. Good day and didn't get eaten alive by 4th graders, so I'll take that as a win. I did feel an urge to smack one upside the head during one class session but I was able to show restraint.

Got home and did some work on the farm. Too early to plant due to the early date although the soil is definitely warm enough. We've been taking advantage of the weather and getting some tillage and much needed weed control done.

DS rode with me for 3 hours today and found a place to take a nap. First picture is a view from my seat, the second is a view from outside the cab with the door open. He drooled in his sleep and woke up with a muddy face. Mommy wasnt too amused when she came to get him, but he seemed perfectly happy.

Had a good day today. In the afternoon, took the kids to the park. I only paid attention because the kid had been playing with DD. Then I heard a group of moms talking about her saying she was going to spank him if he didn't behave. I admit I was really interested to see what happened. It didn't come to blows, but the older mom actually picked up the kid and was consoling him while she and the younger woman went at it verbally. I couldn't hear what was said, but eventually they separated and the older mom came back. Then I heard her and her group discussing whether or not they should call the cops.

That is just crazy.

I can't believe they went after her for a spanking. Now if she was beating her daughter they should be applauded... but not for discipline.

We use time out but I have spanked (lightly)DD before.... but we haven't used spanking in at least 2 years. I think we changed our thinking to more of positive reinforcement opposed to punishment.

Today need to get the room for the NY trip. Four nights in NYC will not be cheap. May check AAA to see if they can beat the Travelocity rates I already have. Then Crash has another Lacrosse game. Dinner out afterward. An expensive day today.

Good get. Have a great trip. I still don't get the NY desire. There is an arts school there that has underground tunnels so students don't have to walk outside in winter to go to school. Hmmmm, FL beaches or cold NY tunnels?

What is this review thing of which you speak. I’ve not had one of those in six years. I figure that once they decided that all annual adjustments to salaries and benefits would be negative amounts… the notion of even pretending to be concerned about performance of wellbeing just sort’a faded away.

Wages were frozen several years ago, but they still offer a minimal "merit bonus" based on your performance. It's not much, but it's something...

Good to see use of steel in the field. Nothing against glyphosate but it ruined many a good farmer and kept many that weren't good farmers still in business.

Nice. We had a 1br lake view a few years back, and ended up with a great view of the fireworks too.

Did 1 room with 3 adults and 1 child last year at the contemporary, and it wasn't too bad. If you're not spending a lot of time in the room, you'll be good. The location is unbeatable...

It’s not like it use to be. “Requests” are not something the resorts are much on any more. I remember a time when you could send a “fax” (now we’re talking old school there) directly to the resort of choice. I’ve actually done that myself in the distant past. If you got your preferences down to the scheduler arly on the week you were planning to arrive, they actually did their best to accommodate you (within reason of course). I miss that kind of extra service.

A week from tomorrow. Disney Hilton Head Island Resort.

We've got a lot fields, different shapes and sizes. This one is 80 acres. We farm a total of around 2000 acres.

My grandfather had to tracts - 20 & 15 acres. I was wanting those when he died, but I think the family gave them away to a non related neighbor. Yeah, I have one of those families on my mom's side.
