A slight setback Monday. I wore crocs to work for the first time, and walked to the post office to stop mail and courthouse to pay taxes. It was such a beautiful day. Well, when I get home, the insides of both second toes are blistered. One was purple. I could have been from all the soccer Sat and Sun, or from wearing my generic crocs. I am assuming in was the crocs, but maybe not. (I hope I would notice something swollen or purple on my toe.). So, I washed some scissors, wiped of the area, popped the blisters and drained the fluid, and used neosporin and band aids today. Well, my toes were sore. So, I didn't work out today. I need to suck it up and stay with it.

Sorry, forgot to take pictures of the blisters.

Ouch! my feet hurt just reading that.

Day one of farm safety days is in the books. Good day and didn't get eaten alive by 4th graders, so I'll take that as a win. I did feel an urge to smack one upside the head during one class session but I was able to show restraint.

Got home and did some work on the farm. Too early to plant due to the early date although the soil is definitely warm enough. We've been taking advantage of the weather and getting some tillage and much needed weed control done.

DS rode with me for 3 hours today and found a place to take a nap. First picture is a view from my seat, the second is a view from outside the cab with the door open. He drooled in his sleep and woke up with a muddy face. Mommy wasnt too amused when she came to get him, but he seemed perfectly happy.

okay... all caught up. time to go to bed and fall behind again. :rotfl2:

Had a good day today. In the afternoon, took the kids to the park. While we were there, a young woman was having a tough time with her bratty kid and she had to forcefully remove him from the playground. She took him off a ways and sat him down. I only paid attention because the kid had been playing with DD. Then I heard a group of moms talking about her saying she was going to spank him if he didn't behave. Well, sure enough, I one of those other moms let out a gasp and everyone looked and the young woman had bared his backside and gave him a good spanking over on a bench about 50 yards away. The mom who gasped was furious and raced off to put a stop to it. the rest of the group trailed after, mostly encouraging her and only one of them trying to get her to stop. I admit I was really interested to see what happened. It didn't come to blows, but the older mom actually picked up the kid and was consoling him while she and the younger woman went at it verbally. I couldn't hear what was said, but eventually they separated and the older mom came back. Then I heard her and her group discussing whether or not they should call the cops.

I think that is when I got a little disgusted. Are we so quick to call the police on someone these days, for spanking their child?? It's not like they hit someone else's kid. It wasn't punching in the face, or using a weapon. It was open hand on a bare butt like my mom used to do to me. It stings for a bit and you think twice after that.

I know things have changed. I got spanked, I faced the wall for an hour or more, and I wore my food if i didn't eat it. My kids get timeouts that last just a couple of minutes. Right now the timeouts are working for us, but we do occasionally give DD a smack on her hand or butt if she's way out of line.

Yeah, the younger woman could have kept her cool and saved the spanking for home use. But the mob mentality of that group and the way they were all chomping at the bit, saying "i hope she raises her hand to him again so I can hit her myself" and talking about calling the police, well that made me dislike that group very much.

It was shortly after that we packed up our things and headed home. It kind of reminded me of the way people act on the main part of the boards (or out on other boards) It would have been one thing to walk over and say, maybe you shouldn't do that here...

well... you get the picture. I'll stop rambling.

rest of the day was okay. DW came home cranky from work. I went to work and it was just another day.

time to go to bed.

Good evening to anyone still up... Good morning to those who get up in a few hours.

And we thank you for that!

Good morning guys :surfweb:

Andy - nice pics :thumbsup2. Your little guy is growing up.

And we do need rain. Last year it was like the great flood, and now it's dry as a bone. Feast or famine I guess :confused3

Morning guys,

Something I know this group of Dads with daughters will appreciate.

Had the Father-Daughter Girl Scout dance this weekend (during the Georgetown game!) They played a Steven Curtis Chapman song called Cinderella. If you've never heard it before (and I hadn't), check it out. Sure to trigger your allergies...

Thanks Chris,

Started to watch the You Tube of the song and couldn't make it through all of it. Hits too close to home with the Prom and College coming up.

Today need to get the room for the NY trip. Four nights in NYC will not be cheap. May check AAA to see if they can beat the Travelocity rates I already have. Then Crash has another Lacrosse game. Dinner out afterward. An expensive day today.

I found it on youtube for the wife to watch last night, and she got all of about 15 seconds into it before she was telling me to turn it off.;)

Good morning guys. Another fog-filled morning here, can barely make out the lights in the building across the way. Good news is by noon it'll burn away to another beauty day.

Funny incident yesterday taking Amelia to school. She started talking about a ghost, and told me that the school had a ghost. This caught my attention naturally (I am quite into this subject, I have well over 100 books on the subject from over the years :scared1:) Still I asked her how she knew this, and she said her friend told her  I shook my head, kids telling stories to see who'll fall for it, right? The conversation went something like this:

Me: Well kiddo, just because she said it was true, doesn't make it so.

Her: But she's my friend, and she saw blood in a toilet

Me: .....

Me: I think I'd have known if it was haunted, I collect these stories. She just wanted to see if you'd believe her

Her: But she is my friend, there is ghosts.

Me: So you will believe her, but not me??

Her: Yeah, you're my dad! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh brother :rolleyes::lmao:
