Hi! And welcome to the club! You are member # 689! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

Sweet. I decided to look up any significance to the #689.

I found that area code 689 is assigned to provide numbering relief to area code 407 in Florida, but as of yet, no date has been scheduled for this to take effect.

689 is the smallest number that can be written as the sum of 3 distinct squares in 9 ways.

We should start a thread with number significance to what your DDC number is?

Good luck!!

Thanks. I had a small box of pictures I carried out today. The rest is all work related. They can drop it, break it, throw it away, lose it, or whatever else they want.

On my way to a preschool parent-teacher conference.

can't be nearly as stressful as the ones when they are older, can it??

I like the conferences because the teacher is young and hot. But, will give you the stressful story. When youngest dd was in kindergarten, old lady teacher kept trying to talk us into holding child back (repeat kindergarten) because she had a late birthday. I kept asking her why which finally prompted her into saying she would hit puberty later than other children. I told her she needed to base her opinion in her academic abilities and let me worry about any parenting concerns. She wasn't happy but I really didn't care. She is much better in school than my older child, who will turn 18 before she graduates.

My DD4.5 has her kindergarten testing today. She's young, but of course, we think she's a pretty smart cookie and very mature for her age.

Wish us luck! :thumbsup2

Good luck. Mine had good scores, but they wanted to keep her back so the district wold have a better chance at even higher scores. I see parents holding children back for athletic purposes. It is all very sad.

Good use of the time. Also glad to hear that you got the thing up and running now.
:thumbsup2

Thanks. The case was easy to fit as well.

Crap, I agreed with my nemesis again.

It happens. You are permitted a few times a year, as long as it is not a discussion into how purses are made.

Hey Norm ,
In all honesty is there more then one type of grits ???

According to my cousin Vinny, there is regular, creamy, and al dente. Then, there are instant grits. Personally, while I do enjoy eating grits, I am not enough of a grit connoisseur to be able to answer this question. I like my grits really hot with real butter, next to eggs, bacon, and biscuits with sausage gravy.

I’ll chime in on that one.

Yes… yes there is.

First there are those that are edible, and then those that were cooked by someone that never spent any time in the Southeastern US

The type of cornmeal used will make a big difference. After that, it comes down to cooking method, with the biggest difference there being whether you use milk or cream in the recipe or just stuck with either a water or broth base. Once you’ve decided whether or not you’re cooking “plain” grits or creamy” grits, then the dish varies by cooking time and thickness and then by what you add and how they are served (for example, do you add cheese, if so what kind or kinds, and then do you melt said cheeses throughout the entire pot or just sprinkle shreds on top after serving).

You can also bake ‘em and end up with something similar to polenta.

Rule 1: never… ever… put anything sweet into grits. It’s a savory dish… Period… End discussion.

I hope you grabbed your swingline stapler.

Howdy all from the peanut gallery.

Well, its been a busy few days...CFP exam is done! :cool1: Now I've got the rest of the week to catch up on work and then we head off to Maui for 2 weeks. :cool1: Lookng forward to some true relaxation on the beach / lanai and enjoying some whale watching.

Just long enough to open up a bunch of credit cards. Banks won't loan to people because they are too risky, but they'll give out credit cards without verification.

The Pirate Princess got her first credit card offer today. "As a soon to be college student you need a credit card instead of cash." Great offer, 0% interest for one year and if you pay the bills, only 29.7% intrest from then on. The new laws on credit cards must have gone through because the rate was in bold and in large font. What a ripoff. Preying on kids.

And here I was feeling sorry for you taking the exam. Now off to Maui. Good reward for all the work. Have fun.

Wow, just make sure she can cover her spending.

The Kid comes home today after lacrosse practice carrying flowers and a grin on her face. I asked her what was up and she starts talking about her Drama orals and the paper she turned in. No child, I don't care about school, WHATS WITH THE FLOWERS!

Seems a boy asked her to the prom. Brought her flowers and wrote a poem. Despite grilling she would not even give me a theme for the poem. Told her before then thee three of us need to go out to dinner. Plan to bring my baseball bat with me.

Supposedly they are "friends." He took her to Homecoming so now I am not sure. Luckily, he just signed up for the Air Force (a plus on his side) so will be shipping out after graduation.

Anyone read that DTD is opening a Bowling Alley?

I always heard rumors they'd be putting one in Disney's Wide World of Sports.

When we were at the place that you make the car...I can't recall the name...they told us that area was a temporary home for them and that the Bowling Alley would be there and at that time it was supposed to be called Splitsville

Evening guys :thumbsup2

Interesting. Along with the movie theater, that adds another venue where you can entertain yourself and have them bring dinner to you at the same time.
