Hi guys. What's shakin?

So I'm finally getting around to resurfacing over here after my little 2 week get away to the islands.

Not even going to try to catch up on 2 weeks worth of.... well, whatever we call it around here... :lmao:

BigTikiDaddy: Sounds like your little one is doing better, I hope it wasn't too traumatic for her (or you).

:scared1:

I'm not looking forward to those days. Although I'm thinking when I get there, I'm going to go with a different approach. I plan to be sitting at the table with a double barrelled shotgun (not loaded) with a bottle of gun oil and a rag, not say a word and just stare the boy down. Oh, and have a "I know Fed" sign behind me. :lmao:

I think the best line from Ozzie on that was that he gets drunk in the hotel bars because he's less likely to get in fights that way. Gotta love Ozzie. :rotfl2:

BRIAN!!! welcome home!! :thumbsup2 hows life without so much sand, sunshine and bakinis? :rotfl2:

Hi guys.

You may remember that I have two grown and married daughters. When they started to date, I told them to bring their dates around so I could meet them. I also told them I'd be cleaning my gun when he got there.

I didn't meet many of their "dates".

My advise to you is, play nice with your girl's toys. :)

Thanks for the advice. :thumbsup2 When DD gets to be dating age I'm guessing that blind rage will impair my ability to think rationally and use this advice, but I still appreciate it. :rotfl2:

Finally got a minute in the office to get caught up on the important stuff...this.
!

The DISboards is not the important stuff?

Talked to the child this morning and asked her if the kid is nervous about meeting me. Her answer, "He better be." First time I met someone she has a "date" with. Going to be weird. Do I go all bad *** on him or do I play the nice guy? Thinking former but will probably be the later.

Play both roles and talk to yourself a lot.

Dang dude...You shoulda' called me...LOL

.

But, Fed can't try that on the soccer field. I can give you a red card.

I was more entertained by his other comments during that conversation. He claimed that he gets drunk after every game, win or lose. That's 162 regular season games, not to count playoffs and preseason... Anyone in the organization think their coach (besides having no filter whatsoever) might be a raging boozebag? :confused3

He was in Chicago. The spirit of Harry Carey must has possessed him.

Playing with the new iPad. Fun but I Can't get my iPod to sync.

Did you get the gen3? I really like mine. I am considering the switch as machines fail.

In other news, DS turned 1 yesterday (need to update sig.) His big party is this saturday.

hope everyone is having a good wednesday!

Happy birthday to DS.

Home from work today with Audrey. Her breathing and cough got exceedingly worse and DW finally took her to Emerg. "Illness induced Asthma" again. She had some oxygen treatments, and we got fresh puffer pescriptions. Another relative short hospital visit, 2 hours, a lot better then the 8 hour marathons we've endured.

She's doing just fine now, already made a mess of her room playing. Finally settled down a bit (FINALLY tiring out) watching Disney Junior nice and quiet like. All us good, and she's not wheezing as bad as before. Really tired out because we were up half the night.

Prayers for her. My youngest dd has a mild case of asthma, but it is still scary when she goes thru it.

Went to doc today. Confirmed Tha back is muscle (he thinks). So, rest til Friday and if not better, then MRI Monday. It will be better by then. I fear having any type of surgery, much less on my back.

we took the same approach as randall did. you raise them right. they know right from wrong. one day they will 18 and off to college. you wont be there to scare them away. they have to be able to do it. your better off putting your efforts into telling them the consequences of there ways and scare the heck out of them. im no expert but it seems to be working. briana is almost 20 and still ask if she can go ice skating or over to someones house. like she is still 16. when i was her age, i was married and had a mortgage. :rotfl2: just teach the right from wrong, you'll sleep better at night.:thumbsup2

mri  tammy, after all the mris she has had, still hates them things. she walks in and sits down facing away from the machine. keeps her eyes close the entire time till shes done.
but forced healing is always the best!!! i do the same thing. :lmao:

that scarry stuff. briana had it when she was little. glad shes doing better! :thumbsup2 briana would hack up puddles of stuff. i still remember driving home from wdw one year, tammy sitting in the back of the van giving her a nebrulizer treatment.

Thanks guys...Audrey's doing pretty good, she likes hospital trips, she gets a "personalized bracelet" every time! :lmao:. She's good at taking meds, save needles, so never an issue. And she was blissfully ignorant to the guy in the bed next to her coding. :scared1: The real trick is getting her to take it easy, too worked up she loses her breath.

Baseball bat, check. 9 iron, check. Cast iron frying pan, check. Guess I am ready to meet the kid that is taking my child to the prom. Did I leave anything out? A taser maybe?

Talked to the child this morning and asked her if the kid is nervous about meeting me. Her answer, "He better be." First time I met someone she has a "date" with. Going to be weird. Do I go all bad *** on him or do I play the nice guy? Thinking former but will probably be the later.

I plan on working on something, any little mindless task, all the while muttering "They'll never find the bodies...they'll never find the bodies" Granted, I've also wanted to do this whenever someone brings around a new employee at work... :lmao:

BigTikiDaddy: Sounds like your little one is doing better, I hope it wasn't too traumatic for her (or you).

Nah, it;s more like "Guess it's time for a trip to the Kid's Clinic/Emergancy room"(depends on time of day). Lately DW has had to go to Emerg, and it's been in/out fast. I remember DW taking her last year around 8pm, I was working nights, and I met her there after work and wait 4 hours after that till they finished with her (same issue). It helped she was really struggling to get a breath this time, though not as bad as some of you guys have had it with Asthma issues. It;s a couple of months to her regular chechup, I want to get an answer on whether she is asthmetic or not, not just "Induced by illness"

Welcome back nemesis! How was the vacation?

Welcome back and I like your plan.

BRIAN!!! welcome home!! :thumbsup2 hows life without so much sand, sunshine and bakinis? :rotfl2:

Thanks guys. I wish I could say I'm glad to be back.... well, I'm back.

Vacation was great, spent a lot of time in the surf and sand, at the pool or just plain enjoying the 80 degree weather every day. Came home and its been 30 going to work each morning. Blech!

Ugh, Hope it eases by then...

I know that's all we can do, but it still nerve racking. I think of all the stupid things I did then and realize how different my life would have been.

Thanks. Me too. Like Dave said, forced healing.

Welcome back Brian. The thing I am worried about is the flight over. That many hours on a plane? Can only pace so much.

Ozzie is right. That and no DUIs.

Can't bring a gun to a restaurant unfortunately.

Finally got a minute in the office to get caught up on the important stuff...this.

DS and I have been busy and he has been helping out. Cold weather has been rough this week. Had to make an unplanned trip to one of the research farms and cover my strawberry plots. Not a lot of fun when it is 97 miles one way.

Today we were helping a grower put up a high tunnel. Got it all done but the plastic. Way too windy and DS would have ended up about 2 counties away if the wind had caught it when he was hanging on.

Getting some guy time though and he is getting some free time. At his age I had a lot more responsibility then he has had so I think this has been good for him. He actually got the laundry folded when I walked down to the office last night!

OK, what is a high tunnel?

The DISboards is not the important stuff?

Did you get the gen3? I really like mine. I am considering the switch as machines fail.

Yep, the New iPad. Still can't link the iPod and get one of my mailboxes. Trip to the Genius bar to have them figure it out. The resolution on the screen is as good as my HDTV. Cool toy. Maybe bring it to the restaurant and show him sites like how to kill someone and leave no evidence.

I thought the back was spine? Good luck Dude.

A bunch of her girl friends want to get a room for after the prom. One dad freaked out. My thought is she is going away to school in a few months. If she doesn't have a sense of self worth and a sound moral code by now, it is too late.

your not being rotten, or lying to them or trying to ruin there time. you are just reminding them of there age and what can happen if you act up. i to this day still remind briana, i dont care where you are, what time it is, if you are some where you dont want to be and need a ride, call me, i will come get you and not say a word but hello.
shes pretty good at thinking ahead. i dont complain when she wants to drive. she likes having her escape if she needs it.

same way, its like watching paint dry. i know that answer, i know whats in feds trunk! :thumbsup2

september!!! randall and i are going to be there in september!

I know :thumbsup2 We may miss each other though. The only solid week I can go is the last week in September :headache:

Audrey comes out to the living room "I love you Daddy" Awwwwwww..

Then shows me that Barbie's leg came off..:headache::rotfl2: She knows how to cover the bases

Sage advice and I feel the same way. My kid also has a good head on her. I do have a problem with her driving though. Remember one of her nicknames is "Crash." Don't have to worry about it when she goes to school. Her car is staying here.

im with ya. without going into details, just remind them you did some stupid things and how you wish you hadnt done them and how you suffered for it.
example, briana went through the stage of couldnt stand school and studying. i reminded her how im 40ish, didnt pay attention in school and look how i write. my english and spelling is less than perfect to say the least. i couldnt stand english class. math i love. after that, she started working hard. one heck of a way to show her why studing is important but it worked.

i never met you or crash but, you can tell you did a, oops sorry, heck of a job! :thumbsup2
