Hey fellas!

Back at work today. Yay.

Happy birthday Christian and happy anniversary to Stopher and DW!

As some of you know, it's been a rough stretch for us. Things came to a head last week when my MIL passed away. This is the first go-round through planning funerals, notifying agencies, etc. for DW and me. Not a whole lot of fun, and my FIL seems lost in a fog (among other issues) and is almost useless. Plus the insurance just totaled our van after my DW was in an accident (not her fault, and she is ok). It's frustrating to have to go spend more money now just to get back to where we were.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Hopefully things will calm down now and we'll start to get better news. My DW's birthday is this coming Friday. She doesn't know it, but I contacted my uncle to see if we could use his beach condo for the weekend. Hoping that works out.

Good morning all, after a weekend offline, I probably won't be catching up. Seems like I only get to post in here to say I'm behind and won't be catching back up these days.:sad2:

Happy Birthday Christian!

Congrats and Happy Anniversary, Stopher!

I want to make a comment about the Amazing Race. I watch it, but I'm usually not home at 8 when it starts, because I play basketball on Sunday nights. Therefore, I watch it on the DVR when I get home at around 9 or 9:30. I don't get to join in the conversation, but I try to read through the Facebook comments as I near the end of the show. You guys were very entertaining last night. :lmao::rotfl2:

I really think that Mark and Chris should go to the audition and try to get on the show, as should their significant others. THat would be a great angle for them to play up. One team of Dads vs. their wives. The losers would never live it down. :rotfl2:

I heard some bad news Saturday afternoon. My dad's cousin, who is in his early 50's and very fit, died Saturday afternoon of a heart attack while running in a marathon. He wasn't overweight, has no history of heart problems, and ran several 5K's and marathons every year. He has a daughter who is a Senior in HS, and 2 sons in college. It's going to be tough for them all going forward.

And I am glad that you still have a since of humor.

Andy, I am so sorry! So young.

Going thru a building move at work. Time to pack up some boxes. Extra chaos in the next few weeks.

I don't know, that sounds like a no-win situation for me and Doc. If we beat them, well, we were supposed to. If we lose...:scared1:

I'm sure you guys would be gentle with us, though.

Wow, that's awful. I'm really sorry to hear that, Andy. Hope the family will be able to rally around them.

Andy - Prayers for you and your family as well :grouphug:

Figured I should get at least one post on this thread before it closes. I just haven't been around much.

When does your son find out his schedule for the 2012 season?

I don't think you want to know how many times I saw Phantom of the Opera...

of course I only paid to see that one 4 times - the rest were when I worked at the LA County Music Center... it was somewhere between 100 - 200 times (on the upper end of that range). Part of the job was standing inside the theatre and watching for cameras to confiscate them if people tried to take pictures.

I had the same sort of situation in high school. I was an usher at one of our local movie theaters, it was one of the old ones (only one theater, 500 seats). They made the ushers stay at the back of the theater durring the show, so we wouldn't bother the girls at the snack bar:confused3.

Rainman - stayed for 17weeks, I was working 4 shifts a week = 136 times I watched that film.:scared1:

I'm an excellent driver!:car:

Bad night for us, too. DS and DD up until after 10pm (usually asleep by 8-8:30). Plus Connecticut Mastery Tests this week. Grumpiness all around this am!

Once you've mastered Connecticut do you qualify to move to a bigger state?

Sorry for your loss. This makes me think about the 1/2 marathon I'm training for....maybe fried cheese, Dole Whips and bacon really are the way to go.:confused3

Was that management's idea or a suggestion by the girls at the snack bar?

You may have some sound logic there. Dad called and told me about it Saturday afternoon, and my first thought was "If this can happen to someone who runs as much as him, what does that mean for Barry and Tim?":scared1:

Mark, I am so sorry!

And I am glad that you still have a since of humor.

Thanks, Randall. We're trying to laugh so we don't cry.

Thanks, Norm. We'll see if it all works out.

Thanks, Dave. Something good has to happen eventually, right? :confused3

Good luck with the surprise! (you're certainly due for good luck!)

Maybe you could make the pie for Pi Day this Wednesday? :confused3

Glad you enjoyed it! It would be fun, but I'm not sure we have the juice to get on there. Plus, neither of our wives have the aftermarket modifications that seem to be required of the women on that show (my DW adds, and never needed it either!)

That's horrible. Life is so precious, fragile, and short.

Believe it or not, there are 21 states smaller in population than Connecticut! :thumbsup2

ACCIDENTAL OWNAGE!

Sounds eerily like the death of Jim Fixx, father of the modern running craze. He died at 52 under similar circumstances from an undected heart defect. The assessment was that had he not be such an avid runner and in such good shape he would have died years earlier. The same may be true of your dad's cousin, or your cousin, once removed.

Good Afternoon Gentlemen, I just wanted to stop in and share that my wife had our little bundle of joy last Monday March 5th at 8:17pm. His name is Zachary Christopher and was 9pounds 10 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long.

He is absolutely beautiful and a trooper. he spent the first days of his life getting poked and prodded in the level II nursery because he started out not being able to regulate his blood sugar. Everything is just fine for him now. Today at the old age of one week he got to have his first ultrasound and X-ray to check out a dimple on his rear end. Praying that everthing is all good and there are noe problem.

He is truely a joy and a gift from God Enjoy a few pictures, I have many more on facebook and will be adding more.
