BTW... Good Morning, Everyone!!

question of the day: I finally started getting paychecks from my new job, and they are overpaying me. I am getting paid more than I was told I would. Do I:

A. bring it to their attention.
B. shut my mouth and spend the money.
C. put the extra money aside with the expectation of having to give it all back.

Unfortunately the answer is A. But it may not be a mistake.

James it's A. Shows them that you are a good employee and you don't want them coming to you to get it back.

A. These things have a way of catching themselves, and you'll look better if come forward before they find it.

Here's a conversation stimulator. What sort of adventures has anyone had at the Disney parks in terms of participation or unusual activities. For me it's been,

(1) Contestant on 'So You Want to Be a Millionaire'--Got to 1000 points, won a hat and a pin collection

(2) Received an "Adventurers' Club" Pin from the French maid in recognition of my celebrity. (see 1. above)

(3) Two times the 'guy in the audience' at the Hoop-De-Doo review that the funny lady comes down and does the 'shave and a haircut' song with.

(4) Received a 'Splash Down' award from a CM for being the wettest survivor of the Kali River Raft ride she had seen all morning.

(5) Was the Churros guy at Monster Inc. Laugh Floor

Who has had similar adventures?

Alas, never got to experience Adventurers' Club :sad2:

All that really comes to mind for me is..:

1) Got to be "that guy" on the Laugh Floor. It was our first time there, so wasn't expecting it. Figured I was picked for it because I stood out with a grown-out goatee.

2) Our group won dream fasttpass lanyards at AK during the "Year of a Million Dreams"

3) Don't know if this is really an adventure, but our server at Garden Grill sung "Bella Notre" to DW and I for our 10th Anniversary

Bring it to their attention.
The consequences of NOT bringing it to their attention, and just letting them figure it out themselves, are not worth temporarily having a little extra money in your bank account. And if it IS the correct amount, you'll be able to relax and spend it.

Hi Aaron, how are things in Superstar McAwesomeville?

Go route A...best case senario is that is your pay, worse case they correct it, but you still look good in the process. If it is right, and higher then you expected, put the difference each cheque aside, and before you know it, there is the $$ for a Disney Trip!

Admiral Ackbar, is there anything he DOESN'T know?

Ever get your winnings yet?

Agreed.

Ah, this is a partial Fibonacci Number post for me! :teacher:

Hi Aaron, how are things in Superstar McAwesomeville?

Things are looking up, thanks.
I'm feeling much more human after a week back at work (even if the being back in the office thing hasn't been the most fun on the planet - wayyyy too much office drama for my taste this week). :upsidedow

Got through a good podcast recording last night without sounding like I'd been gargling with broken glass.

Scored about $150 worth of Southwest Airlines credit last night when our own SWABikeDude gifted me with a discount code that brought down the price of the airfares I'd already booked for our upcoming cruise trip. (Thanks James)!

Got to work on an exciting upgrade to disdads.com - and with a bachelor weekend over the President's Day Weekend, I may be able to shar it with people as early as next week! :woohoo:

All in all, pretty McAwesome :dance3:

I better change the thread title now... cause there's no way this baby is gonna see Feb 29th! :lmao::lmao:

Hi Rob. Hi Randall.

Finally found my way here. Busy day at work. Popping in to introduce myself finally.

Name is Mike. Married and no kids yet. Having fun trying to have kids though. :rolleyes1 Wife's name is Heather. She goes by Thumper_Man's Wife here on the Dis. So I have to watch what I say. We've been together 9 years, 4 1/2 of those we've been married. I'm 39 years old and DW is 31. I will hit the big 40 in a couple of months. I've lived all my life in New Mexico. DW and I both work for state government (Attorney General's Office). No I'm not a attorney, so don't ask me for legal advice. Kidding of course, but working here for almost 8 years; you start learn things and feel like an attorney. I work in the financial department., pay the bills so to speak. DW is an assistant to the Attorney General and executive staff. No, this isn't where we met. We are both also members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. That is actually where we met. Both my parents are still alive and well. I have one younger sibling, a sister. Love to travel and love almost everything about the great outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping).

Let me put my flame suit on for these next lines. As I mentioned, love to travel and not only to WDW. I have found other great places besides WDW. Ok let the flaming commence. Seriously enough though, can't always afford to go to WDW every year; so we try to go when feasible. Usually every 4 years or so. The times we can't afford WDW, Vegas is our vacation of choice. DW has a cousin who's a CFO for one of the major hotel/casinos. So we usually get vip treatment when we go. :thumbsup2 This helps make for an affordable get away.

I've been to WDW 3 times (2 of those times with DW and D'Sis). This year in December will be our third trip (my fourth) to WDW. We've yet to stay on-site at WDW. We own a timeshare and usually stay there. One of these days we will stay on-site. Again, when we can afford it. Hopefully the next trip after the one coming up. Paying off some loans this year, so we thought we'd celebrate at WDW. :cool1:

I've been to DL 2 times many, many moons ago. Last time I went to DL, California Adventure wasn't even open yet. That's how long it's been since I've been there. You would think I would go to DL more often since it's closer to me. DW and I will be taking our first trip to DL together as couple this year to celebrate our 5th. wedding anniversary.

When we go to Orlando, we not only go to WDW, but to the dark side as well (US/IoA). Oh and Sea World. I guess the reason we go to Orlando more so than California is because all these theme parks are closer together than they are in California.

I have met many friends here on the Dis. I love sharing what ever information I can. I mostly come on here to get information though. Learn some a new trick or two. Best places to eat, stay, times of year to go, etc.. I consider myself to be a WDW novice still, but am learning more and more with each trip I take.

I've started reading the thread and will eventually catch up. Sorry I made this so long. Just a little excited I could actually become a Disdad without being an actual dad in real life. Even though at times I've felt like a dad. I swear I raised my sister back when she was younger. If you ever want to know more, I'd be happy to answer. Off to catch up so I can join the conversation. And to find the Last to Post Thread. I was sure I was going to win the last one.

Welcome, Mike! Sounds like you've already found a spot on the couch! You are member # 684! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

*right click* *save as* I love that Smiley.

Yes indeed.

On a somber note I visited one of my best friends and fishing buddy today. He just had back surgery, but something else was "off". They found a large tumor growing out of his right lung into his shoulder and pretty sure it's spread to liver and bones. This man (old enough to be my grandfather, but he's one of the guys) has been a rock in our little fishing group for well over a decade. I've spent hours and hours and days and days in a boat with him...

I've seen this movie before, I know what lies ahead and I know there ain't a darn thing I can do about. I do know one thing, that was only the shell of the man I know and love in that chair today...:sad1:

Thanks for letting me vent

We were at Lake Okeechobee last year and it had been a looong day, and I said "Ed, you're hanging in there with the young guys (:lmao:)".

His response was "One day I won't be able to do this. When that time comes, I want to know I hung in to the very end".

His last time in the boat was with us this past Veteran's Day Weekend at Lake Talquin. He was feeling so bad he left early, but he was there. Actually it was his the last time he was able to go fishing. I doubt he gets in the boat again.

Sorry guys...I'm taking this pretty hard. Even Fed has his weaknesses....

Sorry to hear about Ed... a game changer for sure. Praying for ya, Buddy!

BTW... Good Morning, Everyone!!

I'm thinking A. If it's a mistake they'll get their money back regardless... and taking the initiative will show them what a standup guy you are. Plus... it's the manly thing to do :cool2:

Think Vegas is my home away from home. Rather it be WDW, but you go where you can afford to. Anything you need to know about Vegas, hopefully I can answer.

Lets start with the obvious.

How do I get out of Vegas with more the I came in with. :rotfl2:

Honestly though, why not start a new "DISDads guide toe Las Vegas" thread. (see stopher's guide to Disneyland) :thumbsup2

We were once the subject of the "singing camp counseller" at DAK once (I know he has a name, just don't remember it :) )
