We took DS in Jan this year, he was only 4 months. Never too early! :lmao:

That's what I told them. :rotfl:

Congrats. and maybe you could talk them into going for the DIS dads convention. ;) I'm currently trying to talk my wife into letting me go down for a few days for it, but no success so far bc we are already going Jan 27 - feb 1 :woohoo:

I and DW are going, and I'm trying to talk them into going too. :woohoo:

Doc: Have an awesome vacation!

Randall: Congratulations!

Steve: Sorry about Ethan. I hate to hear that my little buddy is struggling. Tell him his friends from Delaware are pulling for him, and think he's awesome. :thumbsup2

Fed: Very sorry to hear about your friend. Prayers for him, you, and the family.

Thank you Mar! How is the FIL doing?

Good morning fellow trolls and troglodytes. And speaking of bacon, when my son was six, he's now twenty four, we took a vacation to San Diego, doing the tourist thing, the hotel we stayed at had a breakfast buffet. It was there he discovered the guility pleasure that was bacon. But the best story was during our October trip two years ago. We did the breakfast buffet at the Grand Floridian and when he went to serve himself some bacon, a bunch was stuck together. He just plopped the whole chunk on his plate and went back to his seat, must have been at least half a pound or more. There were no survivors and he was quite content for the rest of the day. He should be noted the boy is around 6' 4" and weighs maybe 165 lbs. To this day we aren't sure where it all went.

His skits were my FAVORITE!

That skit in particular, because Spade is doing his damnedest not to crack up if I recall

I'm sorry I missed this! Congrats Randall!

Have a great week, guys! Flight leaves at 1pm. Leaving for the airport at 10am. Don't know how much I'll be posting here, but I'll be blowing up FB!

Keep safe and have fun!:cool1:

We are having us some fun like that within the company I work for. In 2008 they bought a company out of Pennsylvania. I don't know why they thought it to be a good idea. It has been a drag on us since they bought them. We ran at Max capacity last year. Our divisions were up over 20% from the previous.... except for that company. Because of them we as a whole only made 8% profit and that isn't good enough. They want at least 10% so now no one will get a raise. But we have no control over what happens in the Penn. company. In the last 4 months of last year they lost over $500k. But we are supposed to do more here to offset their bad dealings. Our president and vp will go out there for a week and then come back. Nothing gets fixed. We did our best we have done since I have been here and now we are told it isn't good enough because it didn't cover the losses of the other company. They throw us all together as one company when it works to their advantage, tell us this all the time how we are one company, yet the other company gets different treatments. We get held reliable and have to do more. So this has gone on for a couple of years now. Morale is the lowest I have seen. People are waiting for the economy to turn and they will be gone. But as i mentioned it is our issue so now we too have to do employee surveys. They hired a consulting firm to do them. First thing I thought of when i heard this was "Office Space". Should be interesting to see what comes from this. The sad thing is I believe it will be nothing. The firm will give management the complaints and suggestions and they will act on none of them. It is a bit frustrating. We have company meetings telling us we are doing OK, but we are unsure of what the future holds so no raises. Then in the following months news letter our President puts a note in there about how sales are at a record pace (kick in the nuts). Talk to the president and he says well you know....... No raise. Next month news letter, Great sales record sales, Up from last year, Blah Blah blah. (kick in the nuts). So we will see. I just got my email to take the survey online yesterday so....:confused3

Wow, the whole Penn. thing just boggles my mind, that is even beyond what the LCBO could accomplish. Other then that, the situations sound a little similar. We continue to brak our records for profits each and every year, and that is what is announced to the public in an effort to show what we can accomplish. Then internally, we will get the messages how we will be facing challenges due to budget cuts blah blah blah. Just wait till next year when the contract talks for the next collective bargaining agreement start. There is a general conception that the LCBO is not run "effieciantly", too much wasted money. On what? Staffing? Staff budgets go down each year, and we are practically running on skeleton crews now, and in a lot of stores, the jobs we used to get done in a day take 2-3, even a week to do now, because the stores seem as busy as ever, but less people to do it. They also want us to reduce our inventories, only bring in what is needed, and not manipulate orders to bring in more (my specialty too). The problem is, the shelves now are half empty, and it looks terrible. But they say the orders should be doing fine. Personally, the new boss in the store wants it to look good, so he and I are finding creative ways around all this :rolleyes1. And yet, if they really want to cut costs, they should look at all the wasted signage we use for ONE MONTH then toss/recycle.
The surveys are done every year, and the timing is just hilarious right now, morale is not too great. They've just cut the p/t hours where some staff are getting 3-4 hour shifts from the 5-6 they were getting. What was kind of weird was the opening questions that are about commitment and how quick you would want to leave your job etc. Kinda weird if you ask me. But I'll get a better picture when I actually do the survey myself.

If the bacon is stuck together it counts as one piece. Same as the Nacho chip rule.

:thumbsup2

I just read this on the Excite strange news page and thought it was cute.

"
CANFIELD, Ohio (AP) - A northeast Ohio elementary school says a missing Mickey Mouse spurred a brief lockdown while parents were visiting the school for Valentine's Day parties.

The Vindicator in Youngstown ( ) reports a parent wanted to surprise a class dressed as Mickey Mouse but failed to tell the principal at C.H. Campbell Elementary School in suburban Canfield. The woman signed in at the office, but then changed into the costume in a restroom. She went into the class as Mickey Mouse, and then changed out of the costume. Superintendent Dante Zambrini says "it was a case of, Mickey Mouse was here, and then he was missing."***************/wj00n5

The school was locked down as a precaution.

The superintendent says the woman talked with police and they determined she didn't mean any harm."

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Steve, Hope things continue to turn around for Ethan and will be praying for wisdom as you help him through this.

How long you think until Disney finds her and confiscates the MM costume??? :confused3

Really???

I'm away from the office for a day and I find the old thread closed and the new thread on page 34?????? :scared1:

Did I miss anything worthwhile?:rolleyes1

WOWSER, how did you pull that one off? How are you going to tell him that morning?

:scared1:

I'm voting for the A*Team method, drugging his milk, blindfolding him and telling him once they are already out to sea . worked for B.A.! :lmao:

Reservations before the park opens sounds awesome. Don't know why I hadn't thought of that before:confused3

I was thinking the same thing about Park Fare.

It's always nice to get in early, even the walk in an near-empty park is awesome.

We did Park Fare for dinner in October 2010, and it was great. Everyone was in character, talked to the girls etc, the sisters were awesome, and because that trip covered our 10yr anniversay, the Prince took DW when they dance and danced with her. Breakfast in October was a "meh" affair, the characters were trying to set land-speed records for getting throuhg it, and even the server seemed like she was rushing us out. For the dinner, I got into a conversation with the server about Ginger Ale (not as common as it is here in Canada I guess), and she brought me from the bar, 4 CANS of it to "get me through the week" :cool1:

Although that aside, I thought the bacon at the Park Fare Breakfast was the best I had had all week. Didn't seem like the "instant bacon" found everywhere, but honest to goodness, fry it yourself bacon :goodvibes

Hi Guys, I started a new thread "Dear Tag Fairy, Please come visit us."

Alot of you have been asking how to get a colored tag and the Tag Fairy gives them out, so I thought a thread to ask nicely could help the Fairy find us.

Great, now I will have to come up with something witty to say :rotfl2:

Good morning fellow trolls and troglodytes.

I resemble that remark :rotfl2:

‘Morning all…

It’s a day of very mixed emotions around here….
I missed much last night so we’ll hit the highlights…

Welcome to Thumper_Man!

Chris… Enjoy the trip to WDW… I’ll check in on the live feed if I get the chance.

Randall! Big Time Congrats!!!!

Fed… I am very sorry to hear about you friend. I have seen that movie before as well and know much about the shell of a person. If you can… don’t let that be the dominate memory (I have had that done to me as well and it stinks). Thought and prayers are in route.

…Our divisions were up over 20% from the previous.... except for that company. Because of them we as a whole only made 8% profit and that isn't good enough. They want at least 10% so now no one will get a raise. But we have no control over what happens in the Penn. Company…

This caught my eye… I dwell is a similar but darker cave.
I do hope that things start looking up in the near, but consider this…

Our pension plan was scrapped years ago.
Bonuses ended in 2002…
Merit increases have been suspended since 2005…
I took a 22% decrease in 2006 to remain employed.
The last cost of living adjustment was in 2007…
401k contributions are no longer matched…
Dental insurance is now 100% on employees…
Medical insurance goes up about 8% annually…
My profession has been moved to India, so comparable jobs are scarce…
What comparable jobs do exist are hiring in at about 48% of my current salary…
Being just shy of 50… I’m too old to be hired by said comparable employers
(age discrimination does exist… do even try to tell me it don’t)

Our employee level was over 45,000 ten years ago and it’s down to beneath 2,000 now, so I am one of the very lucky ones here (and we’ll be closing more operations this year)

Want to trade?

Really???

I'm away from the office for a day and I find the old thread closed and the new thread on page 34?????? :scared1:

Did I miss anything worthwhile?:rolleyes1

What do you think?

Well… other then my posts of course.
:rolleyes1

Oh, I know that... just gotta watch for those out-of-context phrases that can come back to haunt you :lmao:

Great now I'm reading my old posts to see what the tag fairies may find of interest to them:rotfl:

Do we have any Dads in the San Diego area? I will be out there for a few days next week.

Matt
