Since I haven't had much time to "visit" here the past couple of days.

There's a diner here I take DD to, and they make her Mickey shaped chocolate chip pancakes. They have ruined any chance of her liking the pancakes I cook anymore. She politely tells me to go back to the breakfast place and get her some from there...

You can make the same pancakes. Let her help you at home. My dds help make waffles and ask for mine all the time. I'd rather take them to Waffle House sometimes, because cleaning that waffle maker is difficult.

Dinner here will be Sausage and Potatoes. I just cut up the potatoes and onion and threw them in a ziplock with olive oil and spices, to quote the Cake Boss Buddy V, 'so the flavors can marry'. I will add yellow and orange bell peppers and the italian sausage right before baking. Too bad I am the only one in the family that likes wine, a nice chianti would go well with this.

I know there are not that many NYers on the DIS Dads' Board, how have the rest of the country been reacting to this Jeremy Lin with the Knicks?

I am not a huge pro basketball fan, but I've been getting caught up in it as well. I know people who have not watched a game in 10 years are, all of a sudden, going nuts over this kid. It has become appointment television here in NY. All over the City, it is all anyone is talking about. He and the Knicks basically shoved the Giants off the back pages and talk shows by the Wednesday after the Super Bowl.

It will be interesting to see the dynamic once Carmelo and Amorie get back. Amorie ran the pick n' roll before so I think he will jump right in. Carmelo has and is a ball hog. He doesn't play D and while he is a great scorer he does not move without the ball well. Lin is constantly moving so Mello had better get into shape quick.

It is getting coverage all the time on ESPN Radio and TV. I don't watch sports on other networks. I agree with Dave that the interesting thing will be how he and Carmello play together. Lin has also had 30 turnovers in this 5 game run, and has not played the best teams in the NBA.

I've been following this sort of peripherally - I'm a big college basketball fan, so that sucks up most of my sports attention right now, but this is a great story. Have you read the zagsblog.com piece about how Trent Johnson blew the recruitment of Lin at Stanford? It's a good piece. Yes. Throw projectiles around small children. Genius invention. We had a few sets.

Anyone wants to go deer hunting they can come to my house. We have them prowling the neighborhood frequently. They use my yard to get back down toward the trees by the lake. Also have quite a few here on post. Along with wild turkey, black bear, fox, etc. During the last bear hunt they took a seven hundred pounder out of the back area of the post. Occasionally one will be sighted walking on the golf course across from our building.

You're too far away. FIL is 45 minutes away and can kill them on his land. Hunting is real easy when you sit in a barn in a chair, concrete floor, heater on, drinking a beer. He eats the meat and his freezer is full - so no hunting for awhile.

Off to another meeting.

Meetings. For executives with no friends and no work to do, but who get paid top salaries and need to waste time.

Looks like we only have about 2.5 months of school left with all the snow days we have banked and they also have a week off for Easter, a week of state testing, and 3 other in-service days in there.

We have Monday off, but have not had any snow days to make up. I hope this continues and they can be out in May.

Sales tax for my county 5.5%
My Property Tax on 100000.00 was about 2350.00 (which is low compared to others)

My property tax is lower but sales tax is 6%.

CWD = Chronic Wasting Disease - a brain disease similar to mad cow disease but has yet to be proven that it can affect humans but they have scared a lot of people out of hunting.

It does affect humans. I waste away on my couch for hours at a time.
