On a serious note, here is a great article on preventing your bacon from going bad. This is almost as bad as letting your cheese balls go stale.

Freezing Raw Bacon to Prevent Spoilage

Alright - so let's setup a thread here on the DISboards, with a schedule, and why don't we just send an e-mail to the group each week with copies of the tix and results from the previous week.

When  we win - we will worry about the legalities of how to split the winnings.

great I already broke the law by posting a thread!:confused3

What is this "hosting"?
Here's the problem - we can't really have an internet trail. It's illegal to sell lottery tickets or shares of lottery tickets across state lines. So we have to trust a "designated winner" to make a claim on our behalf, in the state in which the winning ticket is purchased - probably with the help of an attorney to set up a nice little private corporation to hold the ticket before it is cashed.

I went ahead and took a risk posting a thread here to see who wanted in ...so if I get banned please try to get me back :rotfl2:

So who's going out to get Powerball tickets?

I'm in. You should see the beverly I'm having for dinner (cafeteria special!)

And I'm in on the Lotto too!

Got the numbers... I also just got home from shopping...

The draw is tonight - but I may have to buy for next week (or Wednesday) as I don't want to go back out in that blistering cold.

I will keep you posted. :thumbsup2

And here is the website to check...

We will be playing Lotto 6/49

We need to figure out a way fo te Dads to all play lotto together so we can retire at the same time LOL..

We took up money yesterday at work to buy a bunch of Powerball tickets. I told them it was a good thing that they asked me to play because if they won I might have to kill myself because I would be left behind at work while the rest retire as millionaires :rotfl2: I think this jackpot is up to 325 million.

We had an all star game last night that we lost so we had to go back to play in the losers bracket this morning and we won because the other team did not have enough players show up :rotfl2: So, now we have another game tomorrow at 2pm.

Dad did well with his heart cath yesterday...they found a nearly complete blockage and opened it with a stent...he is doing fine now and will get to come home Monday after they get his coumadin levels regualted again.

The Herd has a game tonight...debating on whether to go out in the cold or stay home and watch a movie in front of the fireplace...:lmao: decisions...decisions..

This is how you do it.

1) You start a new thread
2) Who ever wants to join does.. :thumbsup2
3) Ensure everyone has a weekly lottery in their area at the same $ value (assume $2.00 per ticket)
4) If there are 10 dads in @ $2.00 you set a 10 week schedule
i.e.
Week 1 Steve
Week 2 Brian
Week 3 Norm
Week 4 Chris
etc...
5) When your week comes, you buy $20.00 (10 dads X $2.00)
6) Scan or take a pic of the ticket and post it
7) All dads have internet access - check the numbers (and post an update) :thumbsup2

Hope all goes well with that... prayers! :grouphug:

A great idea and the lawyer comes along to ruin it? Didn;t someone try to claim a winning ticket on the last day in Kansas, Iowa, or some other state recently and lotto commission determined it null n void as the ticket was not legally purchased? Dang lawyers. Having fun at your expense Aaron, sorry.

As for lotto, powerball is $2 per ticket and MegaMillions is $1 dollar per ticket. When powerball increased theirs to $2, I stopped playing it. But, if everyone want to go Powerball, then I;m ok with it.

I like the idea, and I don;t know Dis Board rules. We'll have to limit it to a cut off date for membership. That way, everyone knows the rotation and there are no "hard feelings" for late joinings. Also, we probably need to decide are we doing QP or set numbers. Once you do a card, then you can just swipe the card every week with same numbers.

I think if we all pick Powerball, except for the Canadian, then it is the same winning numbers regardless of what state you;re in.

Home from Upwards Basketball. The church league, so anti-Christian, every year stacks one team with the local best players. We played that team earlier in the season and lost by 4. Today, we won by by 10 points. I put in a play at practice, and we ran it all day. Plus, the girls just played lock down defense. I rotated my oldest dd back and she shut down their fast break. She also had to check their best player the whole game, and she only scored 1 basket against my daughter. A proud coach and dad today.

Then it's Hockey Night in Canada...

Where Dave posts insulting comments about the Leafs and The Montreal Canadiens.

He says things like:
"Do you know who'll win tonights Hockey Game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens?"
Then you respond - "No, who Dave?"
and he says "The USA".
Then he puts in a bunch of these guys... :lmao: (and usually a few spelling and grammatical errors)

:sad::sad::sad:
:thumbsup2
