Overnight - 3 posts.

:confused3

You are all like women - I can't figure any of you out!!!!

Not that I am trying to figure you out... like women, I accept it, deal with it, smile about it, and end up paying for it eventually.

Oh, and Good Morning Mom's. :rotfl2:

And when being confused - just remember... you're a big part of the conundrum, eh! :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Good morning to you too Mom!

Good Morning Men!

Christopher, really no contest, Paris to Normandy River Cruise! Take the wife, leave the kids at home. It is the City Of Lights.

Do I need to post pictures?

Go ahead, so it'll help with your quest to catch Norm.

In my mind I know it's no contest, especially since I could add DLP... but still. I ponder. And debate with myself.

Thanks everyone for the Plaza reviews. Still not sure if we'll go or not - DW seems to be on the fence, muttering something about a $15 cheeseburger. :confused3

That's it! Now I remember why I wasn't overly impressed with the Plaza. I remember thinking to myself if I was going to spend that much, I might as well eat somewhere "real", and fun. :rotfl: And after my recent trip - it might as well be a cheeseburger in Hawaii!

I agree! And why am I so tired???

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Wednesday? It's Only Wednesday?

Hey guys. We can't thank everyone enough for the prayers. The CT scan came back negative. No sign of strokes, tumors or bleeding. We still need to schedule the stress test with the cardiologist. Having said that, DW is really, really tired today. She stills has some numbness in her jaw and some pressure in her upper chest.

I appreciate the continued prayers. It is comforting to both of us to know that I have you guys to lean on :thumbsup2

Great news David! Glad to hear it. Hope she continues to get better.

Now I'm trying to debate myself (not here - here I'm just sharing) and wondering if you were in my shoes (they're a size 11 1/2, so if that's not your size no need to reply :rotfl: ) - anyway - if you were in my shoes, and had to choose between 2 cool options to sample - which would you choose? 1 would get me close enough to tack on a Disney excursion, but the other is just so cool, steeped in history and definitely is on my bucket list... both are really. Not sure which I'm going to decide upon.

Paris to Normandy River Cruise

Nile River Cruise

Paris to Normandy, basically for the reasons Rob and Barry explained previously.

Do you guys ever get the Adventures by Disney brochure just to daydream? They look awesome. My wife and I would do the Australia one if we were suddenly independently wealthy.

Now Jimmy Buffet is singing in my head... Cheeseburger in Paradise

Guilty as charged.

I'm sure the cheeseburger is fine, but for $8, I can get one at Pecos Bill, load it up with mushrooms and onion from the condiment bar and be out and enjoying attractions in half the time.

By the way - how much did you end up spending on food over there? I've heard it's not cheep...

That's probably not a good idea. It'd be like a crack addict looking through a drug catalog.
But as long as we're dreaming - if you do become independently wealthy, can you take us with you?

Speaking of which, I could use another coffee about now.
Canadians drink coffee out of kettles? Who knew?

Ready for the weekend... got your V-day covered?

Mostly. Still need to get a card. I got the gift while I was in CA. I even won a contest drawing yesterday that will give us free dinner. However...

My biggest problem with V Day, arrived 16 years ago and has been hangin' around ever since. Yep, V Day is my son's birthday. So we haven't gone out as a couple for V Day since before he was born, always making sure that he had a special day. That'll change as he starts to get involved with females himself, and goes on to college and such... but for now, it's a day about him.

....I like mine with lettuce and tomata...Heinz 57 and French Fried potatas...

Exactly.

By our standards it's not. But apparently to the locals, it's not bad at all. :confused3 When my brother came over for lunch that day, he also brought along his business partner. They wanted to eat lunch together so we could catch up on life (I used to work with his business partner years ago with I was with Domino's). They both said that the lunch menu really wasn't that far off from other local restaurants. So while I am not used to paying $35 for my lunch, they are. When they saw the $14 cheeseburger on the menu, they said, "huh, that's pretty typical around here."

Oh and that $18.99 for the refillable mug? At the Grand Opening, that a friend of mine who is on the Mom's Panel attended - those same mugs were $32.99. Disney wasn't moving them (now there's a surprise) so they brought the price down.

I haven't finished doing the financial report on the trip yet - actually, I haven't started yet. A few other things jumped ahead of that little project in line - so I don't know definitively what I spent yet on food. But I will say that I ate at each of the restaurants on property, as well as other places off property while out and about, and yes, what I was seeing at the resort was expensive, but as my bro and his buddy said - fairly comparable. A tad higher, but not by a lot. Oh and that buffet at the Makahiki at the resort - phenomenal. I gave it a great big :thumbsup2 (and yes, that is the thumb).

I don't have to worry about that. At least not for another month.

In Korea (and Japan), on Valentine's Day, the women get the guys gifts/chocolate. Then, on White Day (March 14th), it's vice-versa.

Culture Lesson OWNAGE!

It's close, but I'd take Paris to Normandy. In addition to Rob's reasoning about the instability in Egypt, the ability to add a few days at DLP is intriguing. But more-so than that would be the history around Normandy. Yes, Egypt has history to - probably a wee bit more of it - but the recent history around Normandy is much more tangible to us. It is intertwined with (use your best Tom Brokaw voice here) The Greatest Generation.

Facing them was easy. Turning around was the hard part. ;)

Avoid Egypt at all costs...especially now. There's **MUCH** more going on in regard to "instabililty" than is being pushed to the general public right now;) Trust me on this one. They had "security issues" in the best of times...at the moment, it's "critical".

Exactly.

One of my guys got transferred to Hawaii...while he loves the island, he says he has to take out a mortgage every time he goes to the grocery store:lmao:

Mornin':surfweb:

Still struggling with a cold and sulking in my office feeling miserable....

Morning guys. Thanks for the advice on Artist Point. I think we'll give it a shot. Might try to do that then the Chip and Dale smores party. Sounds like a good time.

I've used turbo tax for years. Do you recommend buying the additional audit protection offered?

I wouldn't, to be honest. The odds of getting audited are so low, you're highly unlikely to ever need that service. I also doubt how helpful they'd really be.

Unless you're trying to pull off some Wesley Snipe like tax maneuvers, you shouldn't have to worry, imo. :thumbsup2
