Well DS17 and I are headed to WDW Feb 27-Mar2...staying @ Pop
  • Driving down 27th
  • Behind the Magic Tour on the 28th as his Graduation Present.
  • MK on the "One More Day" Day.
  • Epcot his Favorite Park Mar 1 afternoon/evening
  • Drive home Mar 2nd.

Villan...

DS12 is royally PO'ed at me. :sad1:

So how have you guys handled taking Kid 1 and leaving Kid 2?

Note DS17 is paying for his park tickets...portion of the room...and is paying for some gas as well. Tour is on me.

I can't wait for one of my kids to pay for themselves.:rotfl: Good luck with DS12. I know that I would not have taken it well at that age, but I'm sure your son is a better person than i was.:thumbsup2

Big letdown at our house this weekend. Ever since my kids were born I was looking forward to the day when we would sit down and watch Empire Strikes Back together. I finally decided that this would be a good weekend for that. They were enthralled the whole way through- asking intelligent questions along the way, ooohing and ahhhing at all the appropriate scenes. And then it was time for the big reveal.. I couldn't wait to see their faces when <SPOILER ALERT> we find out that Vader is Luke's dad. This was the greatest movie moment of my childhood and I was finally going to share it with my kids!! Went right over their heads... Totally missed it. I even rewinded it for them. Nothing. I asked the 5 yr old if he learned the "big secret" at the end of the movie. He throws his hands up in the air and says, "Dad, I don't even know what that movie was about!" I was a little ticked. I wanted to send them to bed without dinner. I'll try again in a few months.

:rotfl2: A friend of mine never saw SW until it was rereleased in theaters in the 90s. While seeing it for the first time, she exclaimed, "Oh, this is just like Spaceballs!"

:rotfl2:

Star Wars debate

So my DD8 is excited to see the re-release of Episode I in 3D which is great as I truly believe that the complete saga is the best collection of cinema ever compiled. My dilemma is surrounded by the fact that some how Mr. Lucas allowed the likes of Jar-Jar Binks to defile this collection of perfection. How do I address this travesty:

1) distract the entire theater durring his time on screen?
2) conveniently scheduled potty break?
3) hijack the film and splice out Mr. Binks entirely?

4) use those scenes to get caught up on the DisDads thread! :thumbsup2

Hey guys! Quick post before I head to the Y.

Did I tell you guys about my new doorbell?
http://youtu.be/6B3fxI1JNVk

Very Nice!

I don't remember that, but will take your word for it. I remember that Greedo had his gun drawn and Han was able to get his gun out and shoot him. If someone is pointing a gun at you, I think it's ok to shoot first.

Due to fan outrage, Lucas has changed this scene several times:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Han_shot_first

I remember this scene as Han shooting first, and to tell you the truth, I must not have picked up on the change Lucas made. Interesting bit of trivia I never realized.

I'm here. I'm fighting a particularly nasty bout of influenza. Constant fever. Major chest congestion. I'm on Tamiflu, which should help get me through it a bit faster. I haven't had much energy, so I've mostly been surfing on my iPad - and for some reason The Dis keeps making Safari on the iPad crash. I'm hoping that I have sufficient voice to record as scheduled on Thursday. If we were recording today, there'd be no way. I just don't have enough of a voice.

Hope you feel better. can sympathize after having the flu last week and then followed up with a stomach virus over the weekend.

That just gave me a great idea for the title of DDC XVII: A Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would have to imagine that ultimately it will depend on the CM. If you make up something that sounds like a legitimate excuse, and your DD or DS can make "the face"... they might still let you pass. :confused3

Wow.... I can't see that sticking.

Have to check out the theme park boards.

There'll be no living with those people who've been saying this was going to happen all this time... :rotfl2:

Hey guys, prayers needed for DW. She is in the ER with some chest pain and numbness in her jaw.

Hoping for the best! keep us updated!

Well, the little black cloud has zoomed in a little closer. I have no heat. My furnace does not work. The fan and AC work, just no heat. The thermostat said low battery, so I changed that. But, no luck. It sounds like it is trying to click on. It is a 12 year old self starter system. My guess is that it is a igniter or bad thermostat. I've tried the reset button and the little else I know to do. No luck.

We'll use the sleeping bags and electric heater and electric blanket to get thru the night and call for repair tomorrow. I guess that summer trip to WDW keeps moving further away.

Good night all.

Sorry to hear! Stay warm. Hope it's back up and running soon!

Tough spot. Hopefully you can take DS12 without Kid 1 to make it up to him??

Lots of time :lmao: we want a clear picture by December so that I can figure out the ADRs etc.

I do have a question that DW wants clarification to, which could help decisions. We are looking to opt into the Water Parks and More option on the tickets. If we only go to Typhoon one day for example, does this count as a theme park visit on our 10 day tix? I don';t think it does, but want she wants no misunderstandings or surprises.

The water parks and More option gives you a number of separate "entries" equal to the number of days on your tix. using these does not count against your theme park days. The expiration clock starts ticking on the tickets no matter which you use first. you cannot "hop" between the water parks. Visit more than one in one day and you use two entries, as the park-hopper option only applies to theme parks. If you choose no-expire, then those water park entries remain valid until used up, even if that's long after all the theme park days are spent.

all caught up... for now, and managed to Massively-Multi-Quote!

but i'll follow that up with a post-padding...

Good Night!

to everyone!!

Thanks guys for all of the prayers :grouphug:

EKG and blood work show no signs of a heart attack. They did a CT scan but won't know the results until today because they were so busy in the ER last night. We also have to get her in for a stress test this week with a cardiologist.

She is at home. Her ear was really bothering her from all of the moving around so it was hard for her to go to sleep last night. I was at work and she had to driver herself. That was the worst drive of my life.

Keep praying and I will keep you updated.

Thanks! That's what I thought, but for some reason DW wants more then my say-so as confirmation :sad2: :lmao: The thought is, we might plan a two week trip next year, and would be on-site, no car, and a few "day-offs" from the parks, that it'd be nice to spend the mornings at the Water Parks....

Oh, and Morning Guys!

It slipped my mind at the time, but DW yesterday won some tix for Disney On Ice during March Break! We're going to surprise the kids with it. :thumbsup2 Apparently it's the princess show to boot ;)

WP&M does NOT count as a theme park day.

If you buy a 10 day MYW ticket, you get 10 ADMISSIONS to the WP&M attractions.

So if you go to Typhoon in the Morning, and Blizzard Beach in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening, you have used 3 WP&M entitilements (in one day).

You get the same number of WP&M admissions (or entitlements) as the number of days on your WP&M.

Continued thought and prayers in progress.

Awesome!

I handled the whole 1 kid thing, by simply taking each one individually. Not all in the same year mind you - but that's how I did it. Just remind #2 that #1 is paying for this and that, and then let him know that he'll get a turn in the coming years as well. And be sure to follow through on it.

Now, I’ve only got one to deal with, but in that situation I’d be agreeing with Stopher. The younger one needs to acknowledge the amount of work it took his brother firstly to get to the point of graduating and then to raise that kind of cash needed to pay his own way. It’s something that he now needs to aspire to. Your only obligation is to make sure he has the same opportunity in the future. The rest of the work is up to him.

I am proud to see that I have been able in the past to have set the tone in which direction the DDC threads have taken. Some have been Bacon pictures, Fed jokes and Post count padding. I am more than happy that you have followed me in these trends and hope that you will do so in the future.

Today I am starting a new trend, I am sending Randall (me) $50.00 US and 50 DVC points. This should be fun and exciting trend and I hope you all jump on board!

I'm watching Animal Planet, they are searching for Bigfoot in N. Georgia, I got a feeling they will find Fed:confused3

Well, if it is Fed... they can search all they want…

They ain’t goin’a find him.

That’s going to cause problems. :headache:
It certainly puts the kibosh on a number of crowd management strategies.

Did that once, the likeness is uncanny :lmao::rotfl2:

Don’t think a mere mortal could pick between the two of you in a line up.

Yah…

I’ll get right on that.
You be sure and let me know when the paperwork arrives (and if you don’t see it in a day or so, then check with the postmaster… it’ll most likely be their fault I'm sure).

Good news that it wasn't anything that required immediate action. Hopefully she gets better soon!

Ugh. Sorry to hear that, Norm. Hope you guys were warm enough last night!

The Incredibles is my favorite by far. The way things have been going at school for the last couple of weeks, I have plenty of Syndrome's out there right now. Maybe I need to dress up as Mr. Incredible one day. :lmao:

Welcome back Greg! Good to see you here again. Hope everything at the school is manageable.

No problem, I'll get right on it! But I'm sending it from an inheritance I just received in the Congo. I just need a check from you to cover legal fees and then we'll transfer the money right over. :thumbsup2

Thanks Mark, no need for a check, just send me your bank info and I will have my bank transfer the money to you. If you don't get it, it will be the banks fault, not mine.
