sorry about that but dont let that go. it wont go away. i had one a few years ago and they did a root canal and i had it capped. last year they found i big black blob on my x ray above the tooth. it was infected again. i didnt feel a thing because the tooth was root canaled. they went back in a redid it. i had to go back twice because the infection was to bad.
when my dentist found it, i told him i dont feel a thing and what if i would leave it what will happen. he said i would most likely wake up one morning and my face be swollen and if still not treated i wont tell you. again, im no doctor but i just went through it again last year and it sounds the same thing what i had. i didnt try to pop it though. dont google abscess. :thumbsup2

If you go Undercover Tourist, go to mousesavers.com and sign up. They send you an email bulletin once a month that includes a link to UT, with a few more dollars off.

I'll be using the mousesavers/UT discount for our upcoming trip, with a possible bridge of the tickets up to APs.

I fly west ... tomorrow! :cool1:

Have a great trip!!

I think that would be a fabulous idea. They all (both sides) get misquoted and distorted in the media anyway - why protract it? It's annoying and frustrating how once sworn in, they're basically working for a few months, and then essentially "on the campaign trail". Not to be political and take sides (because I won't do that here) - but it would be so much nicer if the "modern conveniences" that we enjoy these days would prevail and shorten the campaign cycles all around. We're not living in the 19th or even 20th century anymore - we don't depend on the stage coach or telegraph to send communication. I say 6 months - no more than that. I'm tired of these 18 month cycles.

I dislike our political system greatly. I heard an idea about the Presidential term being changed to one 6 year term, and I think that might be good, at least in that the President wouldn't be caught up in campaigning again.

(slamming on the brakes here and resisting the urge to rant about politics)

So today is my first "at home" appointment with clients - so far if I meet people in person, we meet at Panera, or Chick-Fil-A, Paradise Bakery, their office, or something like that. Friends of ours are coming to an early dinner - and then it's time to break out the Disney talk. We've been chatting for a while now, and finally she said last week that she wants her husband to hear it all first hand. She's jazzed and pumped and is basically ready to sign on the dotted line, so to speak - but at least wants to give him the courtesy of knowing what he's about to spend a boatload of $ on. :lmao: They've never been before, and are planning a 12 day stay next January - and wants "LOTS" of fun built in to it. Parks, food, activities, side treks - the whole enchillada. They're getting so excited - well, she is - and their 2 daughters are. Sadly he has no real clue what he's in for, but hey - that's okay. I prepped him by phone the other day a bit, but she made me promise not to give away too much in advance.

And this is just the first family of the group... there will be 23 in total going. This particular family is the "lead" or organizing bunch - and then the rest will fall into line next. That'll be fun. I'm excited about it.

Should be fun.

Oh yeah - there were some great looks tonight. I started off with the video - just your basic planning video - and there were tears streaming down a couple of the faces as they watched. The brochures, maps, discussion - oh yeah... I pretty much had them at "hello." It was awesome.

And they wanted it all - and then some. Even sold them on the new Exotic Driving Experience, that the wife wants to do even moreso than the husband. They were pretty much drooling over all kinds of stuff. But the kicker was - when they were leaving, the wife was already starting to talk about the next time... when they go back, and how they'll be keeping a list of things to do again the next year.

Awesome! :thumbsup2

Saw preview for Wrath of the Titans. What did you all think of the Clash of the Titans remake?

I thought it was okay. Clash was one of my favorite movies growing up, and I probably was harder on the remake as a result. I also thought less of it because they did not shoot it to be 3D, but only went back and converted it to join the 3D craze. Seeing it in 2D, and trying to look at it as it's own movie makes it bearable. :rotfl2:

That said, more excited about Wrath since it will be a stand-alone movie that I can watch without prejudice.

nooooooooooo__span.jpg

my condolences, Randall.

i was there during huricane wilma. wilma was a cat 3. they closed the mk at 10pm till further notice. the mk reopened the following day at noon.
there were some trees down along the way to the mk but as far as the mk, there wasnt a leaf, twig, piece of dirt nothing. i have it on video, we were at okw. we went to check in a few days before it hit. i asked the cm if we could still check in. she said yes,why not. i said, did you hear, theres a cat 3 hurricane coming. she smiled and asked me where i was from. she said she was from mass. and a cat 3 is like us getting 4 inches of snow.
i will say this, the hurricane hit in the middle of the night, tammy and i had the radar on tv and the you did not hear a thing outside. if you looked out the windows, the palm trees were bending in half. the rain was coming down side ways and coming dowm hard. it was something to see.

Been there for some heavy downpours, but never a hurricane. Even a Cat 1 can still be a nasty, dangerous storm.

I'll get it on the wager when the KY pro team makes the Championship game. Oops. If Eli wins another Superbowl, is he a better QB than his brother?

It would certainly give him sibling bragging rights, but rings don't necessarily mean a QB is great.

Today, I went for a run, and DW is currently at a nearby sauna. She'll be home in about 45 minutes. Then, we're going to see Journey 2: the Mysterious Island in 3D (DW LOVES 3D movies, but hates the smell of popcorn, it makes her sick...so we don't get to the movies too often). I just saw that it's not released yet in America. I feel special. :woohoo: I'll let you guys know how it is.
Ended up not making the movie. DW took too long at the sauna.gonna see if we can catch one in Busan tomorrow.

I am not a big popcorn fan either, although I do eat it occasionally. (I prefer it to be swimming in butter, and nice and salty)

Gotta love that special feeling of seeing a movie before everyone else. I recently got to see Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (I think?) the week before it was released.

Sorry you ended up missing it.

Morning guys.

Don't know if you heard the news but a plane from Brazil to Miami hit really bad turbulence and a number of people were hurt including much of the flight crew. One passenger reported that a flight attendant flew up and hit the ceiling and the cart she was pushing landed on her when she fell back to the floor.

After it happened, they still had a couple of hours flying time before they landed in Miami. Many taken to the hospital but nothing life threatening. Talk about an E-ticket ride.

My worst experience on a flight was from NOLA to Miami. On takeoff, I felt the plane wasn't gaining enough speed and all of a sudden the pilot reverses the engines full blast and hits the brakes hard. The woman next to me grabbed my leg like a vise and started screaming. The pilot came on and said. "This little ole light came on when we were going down the runway so we had to stop our departure. We're going to head back to the gate and let the mechanics look at that little ole light."

ugh. hadn't heard about that. glad to hear noone was seriously hurt.

theres always a girl scout out front of the place where i can score fix for lunch. :lmao: i make my deal through the car window!!! :lmao:

am I the only one who finds this a little disturbing?? :rotfl2:

An open letter....to my senior friends up north.

The left lane of I 95 in Florida is known as the Hammer Lane.

If you are going to drive less than the posted speed limit, please do so from the center, or more preferably, the right hand lanes.

The slow rolling road blocks where three of you drive 5 to 10 miles an hour under the speed limit while occupying all three lanes is getting old.

Also getting old are the dirty looks you give me when I fly up on your bumper at 80 mph and remain inches from it as I activate all my emergency lights and sirens.

Thank you.

My next letter will discuss proper acceleration speeds while pulling out into traffic. Waiting until I am less than 100 yards from you, and travelling at 55 mph, and then pulling out at a blazing 25 mph, is going to draw a negative reaction from me.

Sincerely,

Anyone who must travel I 95 on a regular basis.

I have a good friend who cannot merge for her life. She comes to a complete stop and then tries to shoot out onto the highway.

The first step is to match the speed of the cars you are trying to merge with people!!!

This would be more effective if you used a bigger font and printed out a copy and had it on display at many of the Cracker Barrels between 3:45 and 4:30 every afternoon.

:lmao::rotfl2:

I don’t commute via interstate any more (and don’t miss it).
We’re only on the mind-numb-express when traveling; if I’m out in the hammer lane during those times, I ain’t driving under the limit (believe me).

What we encounter is not slower traffic, but rather an ongoing argument of just how many mph beyond the limit you need to be going before attempting to go around a line of slowpokes. So is the proper etiquette 10 to 12 over… or as some prefer 20 to 25 over… or as the few I regularly encounter feel that the correct answer is closer to 40 over?

Yah… I know you’ll catch the *$$holes sooner or later… I’m just wondering what the threshold is.
:lmao:

I always thought it was up to 7mph over. I used to always speed, but now with kids in the car, plus the fact that I can't afford a speeding ticket, you'll always find me doing around 5mph over the speed limit.

here in long island, driving the speed limit is hazardous. posted limits are usually 50-55 on the highways/parkways, but i'd say to stay with the flow of traffic, you find yourself doing 70 easy.

one of the roads I travel every day is a two lane road with a 30mph limit, plus a 20mph school zone, and I get dirty looks for doing 35. :confused3 i don't even see people slow down for the school zone.

I stick to the middle and right lanes on the highways/parkways, but on anything not called a highway or parkway, please do not expect me to change lanes to get out of your way.

Morning Gents.

Fitfull sleep last night as my tooth/gum related pain came back with a vengeance after leaving me along most of the afternoon. And let me tell you, getting sympathy from a pregnant woman for any pains you may have is a fruitless endeavor. Came in early to work this morning as DW had to be to work early and DD's school was cancelled, so to avoid making more treacherous trip than I needed to, I just went in to work 2 and a half hours early. (Which they were grateful for, because then I could update the website with school closings). But still my mouth bothered me.

Well, it may have been due to boredom, poor judgement due to lack of sleep, or running out of alternatives, but I decided to take matters into my own hands.

(those squeamish or eating/about to eat breakfast may want to skip ahead to the movie review)

The idea was to stop by the Quick Care clinic on the way home to hopefully get some anti biotics (which I still may do), but the pain was getting to me, and I still had 2 hours before I could take more ibuprofin. I had to so something. Well, I noticed that there was a lump under my lip where the pain was localized that was pretty squishy...fluid filled, you know? So, I did what any manly man would do, self surgery. I took a thumbtack, sterilized it with fire and water, went to the bathroom, and lanced the lump. Pus and blood issued forth out of my mouth, followed by instant relief! My face is still a little puffy and tender, but it's no longer unbearable. Just in time for my regular shift!

Okay, you can read again.

Mar Needs Moms. A perfectly acceptable animated movie. Definitely Disney schmaltzy. While a decent movie, I can see where it would have done badly in the theaters as it seems to have a bit of a problem finding a message, and seems rather derrivative. It did not keep DD's attention at all, though I think it's geared more towards older kids (and adults) The writing is pretty decent though (mad props for the Smurfberry Crunch reference) and the animation is phenomenal. It's a shame that this did so poorly, as it tanked a "Yellow Submarine" remake using the same animation technology that, while I don't think we need a YS remake, would have been good to see. Worth a rental if you can get it cheap, but I don't think it will make anyone's must have lists.

TL

sorry to hear about your tooth. glad your self-surgery has given you some temporary relief.

Thanks for the review of MNM. never knew about the YS remake.

What Dave fails to point out is that the 6 car pile up was from people going the other direction who suddenly realized a cop car was cutting through the median---and frantically trying to slow down...you know...like the trooper they thought I was hadn't already zapped them. A little hint. By the time you've seen him...he's got you.;)

:lmao: Between this post and the vintage Mustang picture it reminds me of a situation I got myself into when I was 19 (in '91). I was stationed in Orlando for Navy training at the time and I was heading south to go see about a girl in Fort Myers. Just got off I-4 in my Cavalier Z24 and opening it up cause I was soooo happy to get around the line of cars doing just under the speed limit (stop wasting my liberty time!:lmao:). No sooner did I get up somewhere around upper 70's on the speedo when I see on the other side of the highway one of these guys:

greenlight_florida-1.JPG

As soon as I saw him his lights turned on and he was already pointing the nose towards the median. :sad2: I figured I'd save him some time.... I already started pulling over once I saw the lights! :lmao::lmao: I was completely stopped, license and registration in hand by the time he got to my window. Good thing he was in a good mood... I got away with just a warning that time! :thumbsup2 Always helps the have that military Id in viewing position somehow... :rolleyes1

Yeah, I'm sure he is. The problem is that we have State Health and Dental insurance. And while the health insurance totally kicks posterior, we have yet to find a dentist that will accept our dental plan or doesn't have a huge waiting list. :sad2: And, with the amount of work I need done, there's no way I can afford any care out of pocket. I guess I better keep looking. :confused3

Hope everyone's having a good day today. Been fighting a bad headache/migrane the past three days, so took a sick day. In between sleeps right now. Happy as hell though that I FINALLY got the tree down and Christmas put away. Today's movie of choice is the original Pink Panther

You have more guts then I do man...I've dealt with this before, and it is torture. Hope you are feeling getter really soon.

As for MnM, anything based on Berkley Breathed can't be all that bad, right? The biggest thing that bothered me was they still Credit Seth Green, and he does the stop-motion acting but all his lines were re-dubbed by another actor.

Good Morning,

going back to get caught up since yesterday afternoon, but wanted to share some potentially good news first.

I may have found a job!! Waiting now for a phone call to arrange specifics. Could be working as soon as tonight or tomorrow. It fits my SAHD schedule almost perfectly, as it's 6:30-10:30pm.

:cool1::woohoo:

Great News!! Good luck and prayers heading your way

Really kinda depends on the individual officer or trooper. You had to be going 15 over before I stopped you (if I was bored) 17 to get a ticket (again, unless you were targeted for narcotics running/illegal behavior/general a$$hattery). But I was, by no means, in the norm for that. As a general rule, 10 over is "safe" depending on location. 9 is fine, 10 you're mine is what I've heard, but 10 is pretty safe unless you're really unsafe.

When we drove to Florida DW will NOT go faster then the posted limit, scared to death of state troopers :lmao:

not sure how your insurance works but with ours, if you go to an oral surgon, your medical insurance may kick in? thats the way ours worked when i had a back mollar pulled. (just a thought )

I never did that sort of thing....warrants for murder on the other hand:rolleyes1

If nothing else, Super Bowl Sunday is the one day every year that I can pig out on junk food all day without feeling the slightest bit guilty about it.

We just need another way to assuage the guilt factor.

Throw a Disney Movie Party. Invite the neighbors and have them bring their best nosh.
This one will also get all the kids involved and not just the ones with a sports interest.

Other Disney centric things to celebrate on Feburary 5th :

1934: The U.S. Patent Office grants a patent to the Ingersoll-Waterbury Clock Company, of Connecticut, for the first Mickey Mouse watch.

1953: Disney's 14th animated film, Peter Pan (based on James M. Barrie's 1904 story) opens at the Roxy Theatre in New York City.

1992: Disney's Beauty and the Beast is nominated for six Academy Awards.

2004: Imagineer, artist and Disney Legend John Hench passes away at the age of 95 in Burbank, California.
(That one in not a cause for celebration… but the fella deserves that you at least hoist a good drink in his honor)

And the direct Super Bowl connection…

2006: Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver Hines Ward is named Most Valuable Player at Super Bowl XL upon his team's 21-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Immediately following the game in Detroit, Ward is videotaped for the latest "I'm Going to Disney World!" TV commercial, adding "...and I'm taking The Bus!" - a reference to teammate Jerome "The Bus" Bettis.

Hmmm, I'll have to look into that, thanks!

CJ can back me up on this though---if you're travelling US1 to Key West...DO NOT EXCEED THE POSTED LIMIT, FHP is all over that thing. Not that you'd be able to get up that fast anyway, it being a two lane road with campers, slow pokes and lane hogs.

Yep and Yep. That and Monroe County Sheriffs. The speed limit in Key Largo is 45. Do not attempt to go any faster or you will be pulled over. They use it as a revenue stream and love to clip tourists (even us Miamaians are considered tourists). And don't have a few beers and get behind the wheel. They will catch you.

I've driven down to Key Largo before and I have to ask, "HOW CAN YOU DRIVE OVER 40?" I found it rather furstrating that I was on my way to a meeting and ended up being over an hour late due to the causway traffic. :headache:

And all you Yankees that come down here, LEARN TO DRIVE BEFORE YOU DO. You DO NOT stay in the left lane going 55 with your left turn signal on. We will take a shot at you. No jury of our peers will convict us.

Are you sure you are directing that to the yankees or the canucks? :rotfl2:

Ooooooh, we can bet a romantic dinner! :lmao::lmao:
