Well now - everyone's situation is different, I understand it - I just personally believe it's unfathomable to not go every year.
I know what you meant... I just had to pick on you a little bit. :lmao:

She also said "get me out of the snow" in that conversation, so we're looking at a short getaway in March for our anniversary, and next year in February...
Snow? What snow? Must be one of those "north of I-70" things. :rotfl2:

I might lose my membership, but I don't need to go to a Disney Park every year. I can usually only afford one vacation a year, and there are lots of places I want to see. So I'm happy to try and get back to Disney once every few years. For us, that helps keep the magic and novelty of the parks alive.
Yeah... what Mark said. :thumbsup2

So... how hard IS it to pull a bad guy out of a window? popcorn:: Oh! and have you ever pulled a bad GIRL out of a window? popcorn::popcorn::

I bet there is an equation based on the size of the bad guy and the size of the window that you can use to figure it out. The difficulty scale probably ranges from pulling a anorexic supermodel through the driver window of a lowered f150 to pulling Andre the giant through the mini-window on a Delorean.

You'll not be tossing us aside that easily. Its quite difficult to get out of this club.

...very quiet today...:surfweb: (that coffee is actually whiskey)...

Okay, I'm looking for the transcript of Obama's speech today. So far all I can find is the summary. It looks like he went to Disneyworld to tell Chinese and Brazilian tourists that the US was open for business. I can't decide whether closing one of the biggest touring destinations in the country in order to promote that America is open for tourism, or explicitly reaching out to Brazil from Disney as if its something they're unaware of it funnier.

I heard he referred to Epcot as Epcot Center. Also heard he slipped up and said Disney Land once instead of Walt Disney World.

Trying like mad to get my boss to send me to TechEd 2012 in Orlando June 11-14. So far I have him agreeing to pay for the convention- but no flight, meals, or hotel. Looks like we can't fit that in the department budget.

It was worth trying for...

good afternoon!!! happy birthday to the pirate princess! :thumbsup2

:lmao: i still call it epcot center. took me a long time to stop calling the mk, disney world. when i was a kid, mk was disney world, there were no other parks. and i guess as per roy disney, its walt disney world, not disney world. now, i dont really have to answer the "oh, your going on vacation, where ya goin?" question anymore, they just ask when are you leaving this year and coming back.:lmao:

Who is Sgt at arms to remove your membership? Is that Fed? I like the rust road trip. We plan to go to WDW once per year, if not more, so DVC works for us. And, I get about 3 months off per year so plenty of time.

"Yeah, that Irish coffee. Cause I like my coffee like I like my women, yeah, filled with booze." Auggie Smith on Bob and Tom show

samgyupsal... Never heard of it, can't pronounce it, but it must be Korean for Bacon Chips.

TGIF Dads!

It's been a busy week here and I see you are 100 pages in to a new thread. :thumbsup2

Bachelor this weekend, dw and ds are off to a basketball tournament but I have a board meeting so I get to stay home and look after the dog and cat. At least I will get the bed to myself for two nights.

Wow... FL in July... Better than August! :lmao: Maybe she was also trying to talk herself into it with all those sweet words...

We have been once in July and five times in August, it is a great time to go.

Good Afternoon!

We received the first of many yet to come college brochures in the mail today. :scared1:

Fun stuff. And oh yeah, those tuition bills... However we are fortunately blessed in that that's been taken care of for us. Awful as last year was, there was definitely a silver lining to that cloud as FIL set aside for all 7 of his grandchildren in that regard, separate trust funds for all, with enough for each for 4 years at the school of their choice. For all of the woes I endured through those years with his strong, sometimes overbearing ways, I very much appreciate what he did to leave a positive legacy for the family, and for providing this wonderful inheritance for them. DW is working through all of the logistics with the tax attorneys, financial planners and the like, and it has been a bit frustrating, but everything should be transferred properly by May or June. What he left for us will take a little longer, but that's okay - I'm not complaining.

Wow, that's awesome. I can only hope to be able to provide that for my family when the time comes.

The Pirate Princess's 18th Birthday was today.

Happy Birthday, Pirate Princess!!

Congrats on babygate and iPhone. Will you inherit her older iPhone?

Still trying to arrange pickup of the babygate. Waiting for a response to my offer to pick it up today. Now it looks like I'll have to try over the weekend.

The Iphone has still not arrived. She's upgrading from blackberry. I am considering downgrading from my droid back to a dumb-phone, because that will save me $30 per month since I wouldn't need a data plan.

Now, I posted yesterday about my Disney Rewards account being closed and then I disappeared. there were a few responses, so I wanted to clarify what happened.

Was it the rewards point card or the visa card?

It is my Chase Disney Rewards VISA account.

That stinks! I wonder why? Lack of usage?

Really? Did they give you a reason? I've always known Chase as a company who loves taking people's hard earned cash... :confused3

If that is the reason, that is TOTAL Peanut Butterin' Beverly.

They are saying "The only way we will do business with you, is if you carry debt".

Any dads out there who fear they may lose their disney rewards card please pay attention.

I will take a bullet for you, yes you can book a trip for me and the family. I just don't want to hear anymore of these horror stories of loosing cards from lack of use.

It's an obvious assumption that lack of use would be the reason behind it. (DW had a card closed for that reason once). But mine was closed with a high balance on it. The three reasons listed were:

1. Delinquency on accounts (I've fallen behind on all my bills in the past 3-4 months.
2. Delinquency reported in the last 48 months. (see #1)
3. One of more of your accounts with us is currently delinquent. (see #1, again)

So... according to Chase, I am a delinquent. Even though I speak to them weekly to update them on my situation and arrange payments when I can and they refer to me as a "valued customer" with no previouse history of problems paying my account. But of course, that's a different department.

Of all my credit cards, this is probably #2 on the list of accounts I would hate to lose. It's the card I used the most. We paid nearly all of our bills through the card to rack up rewards dollars. When things go tight, we weren't able to pay down the balance we were just paying the minimum until the day came that we had a payment bounce, and the resulting snowball of bounced payments and incurred bank fees put us in a deeper hole.

FWIW, I've had Chase lower my limit on this account on 2 previous occasions. Both instances they cited my low credit score as the reason, even though my account was in good standing. Both those decreases also coincided with my mid-month payment, and the amount they decreased my limit exactly matched my payment amount. So, from my perspective, it seemed as if they were waiting for the opportunity to lower it.

It's taken me almost an hour to write this, stopping every few minutes to chase DS, and also because my friends at Chase called to see if I could make a payment. I have one scheduled for next week. If I can get current, I'll reach out to the powers that be over there and ask nicely to be reinstated. I doubt it will have any effect, but I'll give it a try. If that doesn't work, perhaps DW will open her own account as her credit is impeccable and the account was only in my name. Then at least we can enjoy the perks and rewards again.

In the meantime, I have to go see about getting a newspaper delivery route. :rotfl2: Yes... it's come to that. :lmao:

So... how hard IS it to pull a bad guy out of a window? popcorn:: Oh! and have you ever pulled a bad GIRL out of a window? popcorn::popcorn::

First Answer: Not very. Especially when you're all jacked up on adrenaline and P.O.'d.

Second Answer: Yes (Get your mind out of gutter). Believe it or not, women fight worse than men in certain situations. Men being Men are usually hesitant to knock the you know what out of a female fighting with them, because your whole life you're taught not to hit girls. That changes when you try to take one to jail and they turn into the Tasmanian Devil on you.

I guess it is a little quiet in here...

Well it looks like I'm in good company as we fall into this camp as well. We would love to go to WDW every year, but with family away and frankly our desire to see more of the USA (and world) WDW every year is just not feasible.
