I can state for the record that I have field-tested both of these options, and found no discernable difference in performance.

Found out when I got married that "A" is the correct way, however.

Thankfully DW is an A person as well, so we don't have that kind of battle in our house... though I will say, that our big battle is when you get to the end of the roll and use the last of the paper...

...do you take 5 seconds to think of someone else and put on a fresh new roll, or is it all about you and you leave it empty for the next person to deal with?


Me? I will take the 5 seconds and make sure the next person is ready to go. DW... no. She will leave the empty roll on the spindle and walk away.

That drives me crazy.

I've walked into the bathroom, only to find not an empty roll - but no roll at all. So someone takes the time the throw the old one in the trash, but not put on a new one?
