I really wish this cold would stop playing chicken with podcast recording nights. For the sixth day in a row now, I don't have a normal voice. I really need this to clear up by recording-time tomorrow night!!

Oh and for all you easterners talking about "pizza" (and yes I put that in quotes) you've got nothing on Chicago. Seriously where else would a group of DisDads wait 2 hours for a slice of pizza.

True. I spent the first 17 yrs of my life outside of Chicago. I've always said I miss the food more than anything. Gino's East is legendary but my favorite was the neighborhood place Aurelio's Family Pizzaria in Homewood, Il. They've since franchised which cheapens the name a little bit but it's still great pizza at the original place. I got to go back in June for the first time in 20 years and a tear literally came to my eye. I used to work there and the same guy was managing. He let me walk through the kitchen with DW and show her around. Ahh the memories.. If anyone's interested, they can pack some "made-but-not-yet-cooked" pizzas on dry ice and ship them.

By the way, my grandson was in Kindergarten when I started this post. He just graduated High School!

I got to go to Imagineering in Glendale. 100%, hands-down, NO CAMERAS policy.

You've been making me jealous with all the various stops on your trip, but this in particular would be incredibly awesome to see.

Good Afternoon,

Wasn't sure if the thread would still be open, but it appears that in an effort to slow us down, the DIS has slowed the entire system down!

That's one way to do it, I suppose.

Got our only two ADRs that we wanted for phase I of the summer trip! Ohana breakfast and dinner at Via Napoli. We can make the remainder in about 6 days for phase III.

still haven't bought the airline tickets yet though. ugh. The prices had actually gone down for the past month or so, and then I checked today and they have increased slightly.

Once the paychecks from the new job start coming in, we can get the flights booked. Hopefully they won't increase too much by then. The first paycheck has already been delayed because they can't figure out who approves our timesheets since noone who works directly for the network is located in NY anymore.

Had to have a little talk with DD the other day because I overheard her playing with some toys and she was using the word "sexy" a lot. It was so hard to keep a straight face. DD told me she knew what sexy meant because DW had told her. (oh? really?.....) She told me it meant "cool." So her my little ponies were looking "cool" and being "cool" with each other and then a couple of "cool" doctors showed up... I asked her to just use "cool" instead then, and I explained it by saying that sometimes words have more than one meaning and we didn't want to confuse anyone. Later, I informed DW and DW promptly told DD that sexy was a curse word and not to say it anymore.... gotta love it when DW and I aren't exactly on the same page.

Thanks Barry and everyone else for the good wishes for DD. She is currently at lacrosse practice and I am finishing packing. I'll let you know how it comes out. She was wearing the patch when the recruiters were at the school earlier this year. When I talked to the Seton Hall Rep. after DD met her I told her DD was one with the eye patch. She responded, "Oh the girl with the cute bow in her hair."

I'm going to have to assume that is because all the pirates on campus wear eye patches anyway. It is a perfect fit for her.

Man, took an hour just to get an update on the trip report, this is crazy. Hope all is well guys.


Man, now DW has the Disney bug, had me looking up Cruise info and Disneyland info, but there is simply no budget for it this year, makes it all the more painfull, knowing I would have a green light for it. Guess we'll have to make 2013 a grander trip to make it worth the wait.
