Whoa!!

Since Charleston is home (well, technically Mount Pleasant), when in July are you going down? Maybe I can show up too:confused3;)

Oh, and Hoyce, I am coming up March 5-9 for training.:thumbsup2

Hmmm Charleston in the summer. Bring back memories. I was stationed there in the early 90's (93-94). I wouldn't mind going back. I used to live in Goose Creek, where Rivers and the road heading to the weapons station came together.

Hey Fed, My next trip to Kbay looks like mid June right now.

I think Manning leaves, but I don't think he ends up in Miami. The new Miami HC wants the backup QB he's been working with in Green Bay, Flynn and Flynn's a free agent. While both Flynn and Manning will be expensive, neither is a particularly sure thing. Manning's health has to be a constant question at this point, and Flynn has only played a couple of real games. But if you're going to invest in an unknown quantity, it seems to make more sense to do it with the one who's going to give you the best chance to amortize the investment.

Have you seen the new Papa John's Commercial with Manning and Bettis?

OK guys...

Have any of you ever used the Grocery delivery services to deliver any alcohol to you?

Just thought it might be nice to have a bottle of scotch to share in the evenings when we're back to our room as a nightcap.

Second page in a row ownage!

That is the other rumor going around here. Doesn't look like they will get a top tier QB with their pick so they are looking at what is out there. We shall see. If history is any guide with the current GM, whatever move he makes will be wrong.

I haven't done this myself, but my understanding is that the grocery deliver services will deliver alcohol. The tricky part is that they are not permitted to advertise hard liquor, because of Florida liquor laws. So they can't put it on their website. You can request something specific when you place and order, and they'll charge you for it and deliver it if they have it.

I don't know if they can tell you prices if you call or not.

I am surprised how much the flight prices have gone up! I was looking at a possible WDW trip in the summer, but the rates are twice the price of last year. Hmmm... might have to consider driving.
We just did the 12-hour drive. Wasn't nearly as bad as I had feared. Although, managing the bowels of a 2-year old was a challenge and added a few stops.
The most awesome nickname of crash is already taken.
I thought about calling her crash when I met her at the half-marathon, but thought she may be sensitive about it. But yes, great nickname.
I've heard Miami and Sanfrancisco. I heard Denver yesterday with Tebow at RB.
I'd like to see him go to Arizona and finish his career throwing to Fitz. Worked for Warner..
Whoa!!

BIL lives in Mount Pleasant. Wife's good friend teaches at Wando (who I saw was in the news for all the wrong reasons recently).

how long of a ride is that from texas?

From where I am, about 20 hours.

I am thinking of driving around 11+ hours to Mobile, AL area the first day, then finish the drive (about 9 hours) the second day. But if airfares go back down I will jump on the flight.

My brother, crazydadguy here on the boards, works in Mobile and lives in Pascagoula. Let me know what you decided and I will hit him up for hotels and places to eat for you.

Cool. Thanks, I will do that. :thumbsup2 <-- thumb

Let me know if you need any recommendations/ideas! Maybe we could partake in an adult beverage also :yay:

I will be there sometime between July 14-21 (don't know what day yet). I'll have the family with me, so the adult beverages could be a little tough. But I'll know more as we plan the trip.

FED: We're heading to WDW immediately after SC on Saturday the 21st, so we should be driving right by you. I'll PM you--would love to meet up!

Aloha guys!

So yesterday was a great day. I began the day in the Waikalohe Valley playing in the water, and riding the Tubestone Curl and Volcanic Vertical slides - a BIG :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for those - and ended the day having a late dinner with my brother. In between I went horseback riding, on a catamaran, kayaking, surfing (not well at all), and swimming. I went on an excursion (offered by the resort) to the Kualoa Ranch, on the east side of the island. The ranch is one of the largest individual ranches here in Hawaii with over 4,000 acres. It is a working cattle ranch, with a herd of close to 500. There were LOTS of calves. Too cute. Their little faces, and legs! Just like seeing Bambi at the beginning of that film. They don't know their fate, and I've been told that Kualoa burgers are fabulous! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

While at the Ranch, we got to see Jurassic Park - where the kids & scientist (don't remember his character name) first see the valley with the grazing creatures. Most of that film was done on Kauai, but was moved to Oahu for some parts. We also saw areas where a lot of other films and television shows were filmed. I know some of you were into LOST (I never was) - we saw Hurley's golf course, and the cave where Greg Brady found the Tiki. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

The Ranch also has remnants of WWII, with about 143 bunkers all around, including a huge one, that goes 125 and 7 stories inside a mountain - all built after Pearl Harbor.

I'm working on uploading more pictures, but it's taking a while - I took over 400 yesterday.

Here're are two just for you to whet your appetite - or to salve your craving. Whichever works for you. One from Aulani, one from Kualoa Ranch, or as they like to say when reaching this particular point on the horseback tour ... Welcome to Jurassic Park!

Let's just say that I chose to leave that out. But since you mentioned it...

The Dole Plantation is only about 30 mins from Aulani. It is a nice experience, though like any other tourist destination, a money pit. Pay for this, and this, and this, and oh yeah, this too. But at least parking is free. The Plantation Grille has a nice menu too. And the options for your Dole Whip are plentiful. Dish, cone, sundae, float, toppings, souvenir pineapple cup... wow.

I rode the train through the pineapple fields, and had a nice view of the central Oahu valley. I looked at the Koi pond, skipped the Garden tour, skipped the world's largest Maze, and endured the gift shop, but didn't buy anything.

After that, I headed north for 10 minutes to the North Shore. That was, beautiful, what I saw of it. I was headed back south to Pearl Harbor, and didn't want to stay too long at the shore, since I was supposed to meet my brother after I was done at Pearl Harbor. Unfortunately that changed due to his work situation, I later found out, so I could have lingered longer. Oh well, next time...

I'm begining to feel more and more Nemisisisisisisy toward my Nemisis.

A meet up? Don't you mean an escort? :car::drive: (That is of course, if Fed's Police Interceptor Charger can keep up with your van!)

We used Garden Grocer in 2010 & 2011, and couldn't get wine with our orders. I have heard that it's possible though, so maybe we went with the wrong service. :confused3
