Let the kid take a friend to the game tonight. Staying home and firing up the grill in a bit. BBQ chicken is on the menu. AMC is running a war movie marathon so will be plopped in front of the TV eating roast beast.

Sounds like a fun night... mind of some Dad's join ya?

Sorry for posting and running, but I had to go to work, and you all know how life is with a little one. Good to be part of the group :) Thanks for all the kind words.

I live in Gainesville, FL, have 2 year old son and have been to WDW 4 times since March (MK x2, HS, AK). We're huge Gator fans, and love to go watch our teams play.

My son, wife, and I are all Toy Story fans in the biggest way.
I've also recently started collecting Disney Movie Rewards points.

Looking forward to wasting many, many hours here :hourglass

Another staycation ownage.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, and cake. Oh yeah, hello from a UK wildcat fan.

Gator Alum here. Good times in Gainesville right now. Women's Lacrosse in the final four, Women's tennis wins the National Championship, Men's Baseball headed to Tournament. May try to go to a game this fall but with my daughter going to college in the NE, traveling time (and money) will probably be spent up there.

Another live staycation trip report. CJ may have the great diving photos, Barry has the bad jokes, Dave has bathroom pictures, Don has the never completed story, but I will claim the first staycation live trip report.

So, the night started great with steaks. Beef! It was for dinner.

Hit a little snag and missed the hornet nest and it got me. Check out the left ear lobe.

temporary-58.jpg

Some closer shots. The normal one.

temporary-61.jpg

The swollen one.

temporary-62.jpg

So, the battle was on. I got the wasp & hornet spray and blasted the hive, knocked it to the ground, and put my foot up their collective Beverlys. Then, a quick drink of Benadryl.

I was able to wash my hands, ice the ear, while cooking the steaks. They did get medium in the battle as opposed to med rare, but I'll take it. Corn and sugar snap peas completed the meal.

We did have s'mores for dinner.

temporary-60.jpg

And, I am chasing the Benadryl with one of these.

A great staycation so far this week, despite the hornet attack. Tomorrow's installment is a trip to Huber Farms, and a disdad meet with my nemesis and our families. Will post some more live staycation trip reports tomorrow.

I don't know what dinner was in Canada tonight but in Florida it was BBQ chicken. Good eating. Norm, low and slow and finished them on direct flame to char the skin and sauce. Juicy and tasty. Cooked way too much so lunch for the next couple of days is taken car of.

Sometime during the weekend it will be ribs, roasted corn, baked beans and potato salad. The Vegetarian Pirate Princess will have some non meat product. Poor child, doesn't know what she is missing.

Hope everyone has fun Memorial Day plans.

I'm going to have a back breaking weekend, I have in my freezer at work 7 tons of ice, with more possibly coming on Mon, needless to say my back will be hurting next week, sometimes it really bites being the coolest guy in town:rotfl2:

Norm, looks good. Well except for stirring up the Hornet's nest. Like your Ice Cream for breakfast report earlier in the week.

Norm if I lived next door your little escapade would be what I call Dinner & a Showpopcorn::

Until my staycation this week, my meat consumption was far less. And, I can tell on the scale as well. I need to get back to my red beans and rice, although I do make them with shrimp and some hot sauce. It is nice to have leftovers for the week.

Yeah, I put that one FB instead of here. I really like these live trip reports. I think the others take way too much time and energy for me. So, at the end of the day, a great way to relax, post some live trip report pictures, and get ready for bed. I saw where you put yours in the DVC trip report section. Am I breaking some form of trip report etiquette by putting them here?

Norm if I lived next door your little escapade would be what I call Dinner & a Showpopcorn::

It was a show. But, as I stomped them, I could hear the Toby Keith song in my head about putting the boot in their a$$. I would have sang it for you. I can't believe I missed the nest. It was right n the outside corner of the storage shed in the backyard. Since it is summer, I moved the dds bikes, scooters, etc to the garage for easier access. I went in there Monday for the lawnmower and it wasn't there. I'm just glad my dds weren't the ones to get stung.

the name looks familiar???? where have you been hiding!!!
We had the LP of that when I was a kid :rotfl2:

We love our Nissan Quest :thumbsup2. It has the same engine as the Maxima so it has great pick up!

And for the record, it is made at the facility in TN. It has more American parts on it than a Chrysler or Ford (Mexico, Canada and China).
i had a nissan little pick up truck years ago, i drove the living snot out of that thing!!! never changed the oil nothing. i traded it in with 200k on it and i bet its still running today.
Man, that sounds awesome. Can't wait to see the pictures/report.

We love our Odyssey, no matter what Norm says. :rotfl:

we looked at the honda before we bought the chrysler but they wouldnt move on the price and they ticked me off. :lmao:a girl briana danced with, her family has one that has over 300k on it and its still runs well. they take it all over. another good van. :thumbsup2

i think its all luck. you can et a friday afternooner from any car company.
steve, im getting rid of ours in about six months. 2006 with 30k on it. its only gone to disney and about 10 trips to philly. :lmao:
tammy wants to try german engineering next. she likes two, mercedes glk or a bmw x3.... the bmw is more money and she can see out of the glk better.
we can get the glk for about what i paid for the van 6 years ago.

man norm!! ok your done, thats three!!! dw slams her hand in a car door, she opens her leg on the monorail and now this. that looks like it hurts like heck.
oh man, thats gonna itch. feel better soon.:thumbsup2

Well, you did have one more than me so I guess you need the extra space. For two children, a minivan is overkill. Although, I'm convinced I can pack one on top of the car and the other on the trailer hitch and have some quiet in the car. The Hulk scream has come in handy in the car to get them to stop fighting.

It doesn't feel good. And, I must not have drank enough to feel the effects of a Benadryl and alcohol mixture. Although, I did start slurring my speech slightly and was having a hard time recalling words, but other than that, no effect. :rotfl2:

Some thoughts come to mind:
Three strikes and you're out.
Third try is the charm.
Tragedies show in threes

I'm hoping for the last two.

Ummm....I'll be there too, you know.

Yeah, but, nobody likes you. :rotfl:
(here's hoping i've been around long enough to jest, and have it taken as such.)

No, it was Duff.

I don't see how some people can drink beer and play softball though. The last thing I want when I'm doing something that involves moving around and sweating is a beer.

Sweating beer? I haven't done that since a college camping trip. It was awesome & disgusting all at the same time.

I agree. We have a park 2 blocks from our house that Evan can see from our front yard. He always checks to see if anyone is playing softball, then runs in the house to announce that a game is going on. So we walked down last night and watched a little bit. As we were sitting there, a young guy (probably 25ish) sits down in the bleachers behind us. He was carrying his bat and glove, so was obviously playing in the next game. I hear the "pssstch" of a can opening, so I glace back and he's sipping the first of his 4 or 5 16-oz Pabst Blue Ribbons. :crazy2:

Work's beer league team is playing at the park that's 68 steps from my front door. (I counted) There are always enough guys, so I go just to cheer, and drink the free beer work is providing, and then stumbling home. GREAT way to spend a Thursday night! :thumbsup2

Yes, you seem like such an ice guy. :p

Also, Great job with the no-trip report Norm!

Morning guys!

There may be a slight disturbance in the force today :darth:

Rumor has it there may be a disdad/nemesis meet in S. IN.

Will report more later :thumbsup2
