Weren't you waiting for your wife to get off work for this? Did she get off or is this booking just wishful thinking?

I was waiting for my wife to find out if she could get off, BUT she was afraid to ask, So it was time for my back up plan:confused3

This is the way I figure it, it was maybe a 50/50 shot of going the longer you wait the less the chance, so I booked it turned the odds into a 95/5 in my favor, once things are booked it's a lot harder to say no, so this is what I got her for Mother's Day:worship: Failure is not a option so I can't leave much of a choice, I guess that's why I'm known as the guy who makes things happen:thumbsup2

Better than that fluffy white precipitation.

This is true.

Congrat's Brian!

Thanks Brian. I assume you were talking to me, or were you just congratulating yourself on the nemesis crack you made? :confused3

I'm guessing certified financial planner. Disney stock is a good recommendation.

Correct, sir... and sort of correct. DIS is a good dividend paying stock, but slightly over priced relative to its dividend (current yield is at 1.3% I would like to see this closer to 2-2.5%). And yes, I'm a value guy, not a growth guy.

Evening

How are things on the work front Brent?

Really busy this week, as we go into the long weekend "Unoffical start to summer". :faint: Next two loads are huge, a lot of work ahead, plus running a lot of the shifts for it.

The guy I've had the serious issues with had a talking to Monday, but it was after I had left for the day. There was apparently more "incidents" Saturday. He's apparently booked off till Friday:sad2: Really though, nothing was REALLY done. Useless Assistant Manager's last day is May 28, so less then two weeks, and he's gone. Still a lot of issues that look to have another month or two to go before being resolved. Things will be stressfull this week and relax a bit after that.
Best thing though, is thanks to the long weekend, I only work 3 days next week! Off Sunday, Monday, have a tasting/mixology session to attend (still get paid!) on Tuesday, work Wednesday and Thursday, off Friday, work Saturday night! All and all, a decent week. Still, it'd be nice to see some progress in fixing the issues.

Just CJ and his usual weather complaining. CJ are you sure that isn't the second storm of the season, because Miami really hopes tropical storm Bosh returns to town soon. It looks like the championship is gone.

You wound me sir. At least the complainers that Bosh is not pulling his weight will realize they are idiots. Still think they will take Indiana but they need one up there. At least the Marlins are playing better.

These are 6 ADR's I'm going for although 1 can change if Be Our Guest is open by then:confused3

- Ohana's
- Whispering Canyon
- T-Rex
- Bongos Cuban Cafe
- Le Cellar
- Teppan Edo

By 10am tomorrow I will have down where to eat what day and ADR"s made, I'll also have the AAA story time & Firework viewing booked oh and of course a haircut at Harmony Barbershop:cool1:

Brilliant. I may try this next year. Just go ahead and book a summer trip and force DW to go.

I'm a growth guy. But, all my investments at in mutual funds through 401Ks. I am in two funds - American Century and Fidelity Contrafund and I have DW in T-Rowe Price and Vanguard Wellington. I'm not thrilled with the Vanguard fund, but she wants to stay in it. I know enough to read a propectus and MorningStar risk/return report as well as number of years of fund longevity and performance over 10 or 15 years. But, I have to admit that Fidelity having Disney there did draw me to it. But, it also has Apple, Google, Berkshire Hathaway, and a few others that were appealing.

But, I don't know enough to try to pick stocks and to day trading. I do know the IPO for FB is ridiculous, but I wish I could have been on the ground floor of that one. Maybe in the next life I can do this for a living. It is a lot more interesting than my current profession.

Those help. I've got the staycation next week, but this week is torture.

I'm a big LeBron fan and enjoy watching him play. But, the team is not built for success without Bosh.

I'd have to say Bongos is my fave on that list. Le Cellier is good but not one of our must dos anymore. King Crab Claws at Fulton's or lobster at Narcoosee is who I'm heading.

I'm not a stock picker either (hence why I tend to value stocks vs. growth). My own investments are similar to yours (primarily index funds) with a focus on asset allocation. I have a few single name stocks but in industries I'm very familiar with and companies that I know.

I'm no investment guy, but this is what I think will pay out:confused3

- Tax Free Municipal Bonds

- Tax Liens on Land

- I like Dis Stock but not right now, IMO I think it will be a lot cheaper around Jan or Feb, but that would go for any stock

- silver

morning men!

Its almost the weekend, and I have to say Im looking forward to it.

I think I have my issues from earlier in the week resolved, now if I can keep my manager from scheduling meetings at 3 in the afternoon.

Matt

Morning everyone. I'm awake, though I really don't want to be. Coffee isn't going to help nearly enough - good thing I have a supply of chocolate covered espresso beans. I may be twitchy and shaking slightly, but I'll eventually be awake.

Don't forget!

Those of you who will be in disney between June 1st to June 9th, I would like to set up a Disdad's meet. We have rented the premium cabana at the poly on the 7th! We are planning a quiet dinner at the cabana around 6p but the rest of the night is wide open. So you guys can come and watch the electric water parade and wishes on the poly beach. Going to be free soda and water and I will have a rather large bottle of libations. If the live feed is working we can even set up an event to say hello to those who werent fortunate enough to make it on your trip! PM me if you plan on attending! :thumbsup2

I was congratulating you sir... just didn't want to go backwards to find your post to quote it... :)

Dave wishes everyone a good morning from WDW with his favorite picture!

You should be jumping this morning. Watch out for that crash later.

Muni bonds are a good source of income, but not the best for building retirement fund. I like utility stocks paying a good dividend as well.

Two weeks and 6 days until I fly out to Orlando!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!:woohoo:

Have a great trip.
