I was going to procrastinate today, but I just didn't get around to it.

I wish more folks had this mentality. I coach our kids to have fun and learn the good things about the game. They are really doing well! Unfortunately, the other team we played on Saturday does not play by this philosophy. The coach was a real peanut buttery kind and the kids were rotten. Pushing my players... calling names out on the field. The kicker was a the end of the game and were all shaking hands, there were girls on the other team spitting on their hands before shaking our girls hands. I used it as a teaching moment to show what NOT to do. Inside, I was furious. There's no need for that stuff in developmental soccer. sheesh.

I hate to hear that. Now, I do coach to win, but I simply do that in the way I set up the team. So, I run a 2-2-1 or 3-2-1 (if 7v7) and I won't put 2 first year players with a scared goalie. But, over 2 games, each one of my players gets to play every position and sit on the bench the same amount of time. The other game in the 4th quarter while losing, I did change some player assignments and we were able to tie. Unfortunately, I see the opposite - where coaches aren't teaching any skills or positions and just led the kids run in a pack all over the field.

The AC people are coming back today to fix the leak that is under the house for due to the way the installed the new unit...do you think their insurance covers the damage??? I hate dealing with stuff like this!!

If they are responsible for faulty installation, then their insurance should pay for this. Good luck.
