:wave2: Paul, Randall, and Norm...

Hello there!

:tilt: Green with envy. Have a great time!

Thanks!

Mornin Guys...stuck at work today...:headache:

Hope it goes quickly!

Have a great trip Paul :thumbsup2

Good morning all. The in laws are coming, the in laws are coming!:lmao:

I hope everyone has a great day :thumbsup2

Thanks. Good luck with the in-laws. If I were you, I would start running now, in any direction, and not stop until you were far far away... But that's just me...

Just had to pop on and check for a Skype message so thought I would see what you gents were up to. Looks like busy weekends for all. Today is cleaning day for me though I would rather be out working my bees.

A good news post....

It looks like my traditional Myrtle Beach R&R vacation with my parents may be changing next year....to WDW!!

:banana::yay:

Our whole trip this year, while I was posting pics to facebook, I was also emailing my Dad and keeping him the loop. And, when we got home, showing him all of our pics from the trip....you could see the Disney magic light up in his eyes again. I think he's itching to go back as much as I am. :thumbsup2

So, while we may still do our day trip to MK during our normal Spring Break vacation....it'll be nice to look forward to a longer trip in June.

More than likely, we'll be staying off-property at a nearby Marriott timeshare, unless he can figure out a way to stay on property. Sounds like he really wants to stay on property, but might have to be a little creative to make that happen. He's looking into it. :thumbsup2

I'm even more excited by the fact that the crowd calendar for the week we usually go on vacation in June is 6, 7, and 8's as opposed to the 9's and 10's we're used to during Spring Break.

Good Morning..errr...Afternoon....that hazy 11-12 time where it's not really morning and not quite noon...:lmao:

Already a busy morning, beeen to the church's car wash/yard sale, and we are going to get ready to head for my brother's soon for my neice's Bday party. Girls are excited it's a princess theme. I wonder if it is BOYB ;) Personally I am looking forward to seeing my brother and parents. Guess my sister'll be there too, trying to run things :sad2:

Brent, this all sucks. I hope things get better at your job, or you get a better job. Start planning a Disney trip, it will make you feel better too!

Meh, I'm not there today, am I? Today will define "bad day" and I'm worry free, can't be held responsible for anything that might occur :thumbsup2

The saddest part though is...I've already planned the August 2013 trip :sad2: Now I play the waiting game. :crazy2:

Question: Is the Avengers series the next "Star Wars"?

A long as Rick Jones doesn't become the next Jar Jar Binks

Problem with Golden Oaks is you own the house but not the land underneath it. So, it's kinda like living in a trailer park.

Wait a sec, all they're doing is renaming fort wildnerness?? :confused3

Mine allows conversions... don't have to jump through all the hoops of refinancing. I've done a conversion every year for the last 3 years and what it has cost me out of pocket to do it has been approximately what it saved me on interest for that year's payment alone. I've managed to knock 3.5 points off over the last 3 conversions. I might need to call in sometime soon and see if it will be worthwhile to try to do another conversion.

conversions?? hmmm... all this talk of refi has got the hamster in my head getting some exercise. I really don't think we're in any position given that we have absolutely no extra cash. But a few phone calls/emails are probably worth the few minutes it will take to find out more info.

So, the staycation plans didn't get far. DW texted and asked me about our DVC points. Granted, May is still off limits, but she wants to plan for future vacation. We only have 35 points this year and we have the cruise in 2013. So, with a variety of banking/ borrowing possibilities, here are the options. So, I did three different excel spread sheets with the different options thru 2016 assuming point charts that haven't been released.

Option #1 - Three studio vacations in 2014, with a summer vacation week atAKV, OKW, SSR, or VBR. Spring Break is at BWV and Fall Break is at BLT.

Option #2 - Two vacations in 2014. Spring Break at BWV. Fall Break in 1 BR at AKV or OKW.

Both options are very appealing. 3 vacations sound great. But, staying in a 1 BR sounds great.

hmm... that's tough. 1BR sure sounds nice. We're hoping this year will be our last year staying in a studio. More points are definitely needed!!

im done for today. im not sure if i will be posting from the road but if not ill talk to you guys from the poly!!!! good luck in the photo contest!!!
:thumbsup2

have fun!

I never read that whole thing. Who knows what I signed. I guess I could own 5000 and DW could own 5000 and we would have to go on vacation about 5 weeks a year. A rough life. Maybe this is what CJ is doing.

I didn't know about it either. and I did read the paperwork. Maybe I just forgot. Can you buy some in an imaginary relative's name?? as long as they are getting their money, would they really look to closely??

Last sleep in my comfy bed at Jambo. Anyone want to lend me some points so I can stay longer? Anyone? Why do I hear crickets?

Because Jiminy is in your room?? sorry, all out of points right now.

Just a quick question, which logo is the official one for dis dads? I may have the opportunity to get window clings made and want the right one. Would anyone be interested in this?

window cling is a good idea. That reminds me that I need to get my shirt soon so I can have it for the trip.

Just booked 3 days in Williamsburg for June even saved 20% by prepaying:banana: Saved like $60:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

DW wants to tell the DD's tomorrow. She wants them to have a month to anticipate. I still would like to keep our WDW trip a secret, but that's really not going to happen.

sorry you won't get your way, but when do we ever?? :rotfl2:

I will luck out this year. DW said that between WDW and a garage, we're not doing Mothers Day / Fathers Day to each other. And, unlike stories I hear about some DW's, when mine says "don't get a present" it means "don't get a present." So, I will luck out there.

:thumbsup2

Someone told me the author of Wheel of Time died with 2 books left to write. I don't know if that's true, or if I'm confusing it with another series, but that's what I think I read on Wikipedia.

And George R.R. Martin needs to get writing. He's looking OLD, I hope his ticker holds out to finish the next 2 books!

Yes, Robert Jordan died before finishing, and he supposedly shared all the plot details with his family, who then chose another author to finish the series. I think there was one book left, which got split into 3 volumes?? All I really know is that so far I am enjoying it.

some day... I will get there.

Anyone planning a 2013 trip to Disneyland in Aneheim?

I think we are... I have the dates narrowed down to sometime - in 2013. :rotfl2:

If anyone else is thinking of going, let me know when... if feasible we may go the same week.

2015 for us.

We agree, its hard to step back once you have upgraded,so enjoy and dont look back and have a great time for they are far and few between.

-JH:)

true. Welcome Aboard!

\Not that new to DVC, 3 years now, and I can use points at the resort there. It is the transportation. It's a lot cheaper for the 4 of us to drive to WDW than fly to DL, hence the one day plan to hit DL and Aulani in one massive trip out west. 2013 is cruise.

We are in the same boat. Not on your cruise, I mean, but with the flying to DL. :lmao:

Good evening DIS Dads...I'm back after a few crazy days. Good news is the 17mo DD is doing much better. Hand-Food-Mouth almost all cleared up. Made it a difficult week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Great to hear!! thanks for the update!

Happy Birthday, Rob!

was catching up, but interrupted by DW and DD returning from dance class. Now going out to lunch, then hitting Lowe's for plants and then working on the garden and landscaping. Tonight is our second disney theme night. The movie is Lilo and Stitch.

no time to tell the whole story here, but thursday night I had to walk about 8 miles to my car from the train station. Took about 2 hours, but the good news is it helped my exercise and weight loss. I weighed in at 213.5 yesterday, another 2lbs down from previous week.

I can hear DS is awake, so it's time to go to lunch.

Have a good saturday, and good mother's day weekend everyone!

You can come clean for me, although that commute will get you.

Terrific news. We've been that week and crowds were ok. It was hot but fun.

The saddest part though is...I've already planned the August 2013 trip :sad2: Now I play the waiting game. :crazy2:

That's the best part. I've planned the 2017 DL/Aulani trip. Happy thoughts.

.

DW already wants third vacation. Maybe I can talk her into AP. Maybe I can talk her into more DVC points.

Congrats. While i am only down 22 pounds (& a lot more to go), it was so easy cutting the grass today. Normally, i can't breathe and I'm dripping sweat. Not so much today.

Well, the day has caught up to me. Refereeing and cut grass = tired legs. Good thing I'm not Josh Beckett, because poor guy only gets 19 days off a year. Can you imagine how tired he is? ESPN Mike n Mike radio offered him the Crash interview guide from Bull Durham.

Happy Birthday Rob!!

Good luck today.

Day off today, went to my bro's for a B-day party. He needed the luck, the girls gave him a pretty princess makeover :lmao:

That's the best part. I've planned the 2017 DL/Aulani trip. Happy thoughts.

Yeah, it's now "how much will we have? Can we throw Universal in there too? at this point. :lmao:

:rotfl2: well played :rotfl2:

Thanks. Couldn't pass that one up.

Yeah, it's now "how much will we have? Can we throw Universal in there too? at this point. :lmao:

We haven't done Universal yet. We'll stay at SSR and drive over in a couple years when my youngest can do all the coasters.

Wait a sec, all they're doing is renaming fort wildnerness?? :confused3
.

Actually, FW and Golden Oaks are really close together. My future home. I wonder if I can take a boat from Golden Oaks across Bay Lake to MK?

We haven't done Universal yet. We'll stay at SSR and drive over in a couple years when my youngest can do all the coasters.

DW and Amelia want to see the Harry Potter, otherwise I couldn't care if we go or not. Neither of us really think we'll do the coasters, but we'll see. DW loves 'em, but size is a big issue, and if they have test seats, we can see and avoid any embarassment. Amelia might try anything she can.

I'd just as soon stick to Disney (Daytona and Seaworld are a go, before we get there) and maybe go from the POP to Riverside as a switch. plan is to book in the fall, see if any good deals come up.

Happy Birthday, Rob!

A couple more hours and then it's mothers day and you can return to being unimportant.:lmao:
