Some Mondays are better than others. Today I get to see an opportunity that I have been working on for the past seven months become a contract. :cool1:

Now the real work begins. :duck:

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone...feels ike a Monday today. Been a week of rough sleeping, so just dragging today.

We spent yesterday at the zoo, and I got a little too much sun, I know better, but was kinda meh about it. Will have to put off the monthly head-shaving a few days now though, till the burn up top subsides. :lmao: Whatta maroon I am.

Today for work will be a full plate. Will have to deal with the fallout from last week's "situation", and proably a mass clean-up from the weekend. After that there are any one of 4 jobs that need my immediate attention. Make that 6, just thought of two more. :scared1: Weeeeeeeeee!:lmao:

Good luck with all that.

Another rainy day in the hollers so no field work again. I wanted our tomatoes in the ground a week ago and it will be Thursday or Friday at the earliest.

Long time, no post. Not even going to try and catch up on everything I missed.

Long weekend here - soccer game for the son on Saturday morning, and it was not a good one. Final score was 9-3 (unofficial - it's a junior league, so they do not keep official score - though the parents do.) DS plays goalie, and it was 3-0 in the first 2 minutes. Not his fault - the other team had a couple of kids who are just enough older and taller that they can drill the ball into the upper corners of the goal, and there isn't much you can do about that when the goalie is only in 2nd grade.

Right after soccer, it was off to the Cub Scout graduation campout - pack games in the rain, and lots of mud and drizzle. DS was in a grumpy mood for a while (thanks to the soccer drubbing), but eventually cheered up and had a good time.

Got back and cleaned up just in time for luch, and then I took kid duty so DW could run some errands, etc. Even managed to get half the lawn mowed last night, and I am off in a moment to start painting a room - or at least as much of it as I can accomplish in an hour or so.

Good luck with all that.

I'm sorry the weather isn't as cooperative for you, but speaking of field work... as of Saturday afternoon, all of our corn and soybeans are in the ground. :cool1:

We just have about 8 acres of corn that will need to be replanted after the ground dries out a little more then we've got to get busy applying anhydrous ammonia and spraying.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the weather this spring or what, but I've been seeing a lot of corn around here showing signs of phosphorous deficiency. Thankfully none of ours looks that way.

Congratulations on the planting! I saw some in OH that was looking a little purple on the edges as well. Usually P deficiency is caused by cold and/or wet soils limiting root growth. When the weather improves the the top growth does well but the roots haven't grown enough to keep up with demand. Since P is mobile in the plant it gets moved from the older leaves to the younger leaves.

hey, guess who i ran into today!!!

What? Couldn't pose in the bathroom?

!:lmao:

I self cut mine once a month with 1 guard or no guard. By a month time, it is too thick to burn. Hope it heals quick. I sunscreen my head and people look at me weird, well, weirder than usual.

Found this online! The battle continues!

Good news. It does make things better.

Good luck with all that.

You should still get good tomatos planting this late. Fresh tomatoes are the best.

I rotate my players thru all the positions. Really, soccer positions shouldn't be set to HS or higher level.

That sounds scary. Is that from a zombie attack?

The coach tends to rotate the players through the postitions, but he also lets players play most often where they do best (which is not always where they want to be :lmao:)- so DS has spent time as a forward, in defense, etc - but he does well as goalie, so he and one other boy spend most of their time there. And the coach does a good job of making sure that everyone plays, and teaching the fundamentals at practice. We had him last fall, and requested him again for the spring.

(Yeah - I just reread what I wrote. It should have been "DS was playing goalie". Meh. I need more coffee - while I wait for confirmation on the paint color. So much for it being a surprise for DW.)

Good to hear that. I only do 1 hr of practice a week, and the players get 20 - 30 minutes of individual ball handling and body positioning skills with a variety of different games. Other than some situational plays (corner kick) I don't overwhelm them with too much game strategy. We are doing well, but I still rotate all my players and give them equal playing time. 7 out of 8 players have scored goals this season, which I think helps kids at this age stay interested in the game.

Heard today that Mark Zuckerberg of FB, once company goes public, will be able to spend $300K per day for the next 50 years. Good thing he gets a lower tax rate than me - poor guy.

That's good. Some of the coaches I have seen (thankfully, only a couple, out of several dozen) seem to be obsessed with winning at all costs, even at this level. I'd rather my kids be coached by someone who is going to work on skills and drills, learning the basics of the game and having fun, rather than being on a team where some kids are benched because it might jeopardize that important win.

He needs to have a kid and become a DISdad. Just think of how quickly he could pay for a house at Golden Oak and let us use his guest house. Then we won't have to keep waiting on you to get lucky and hit the lottery. :rotfl2::lmao:

Great idea. Now, what do we need to start this plan? Or, I can just have him try to adopt me.

But to be honest, DS had to remind me it was Monday; I haven't stopped since LAST Monday. And THIS is going to be my busy week, including 3 days and nights at sea shaking out the new ship. I wish they'd let me up on the bridge; I don't like having no idea where we are or what's going on. But I don't wear khaki any more, so that's not my job.
But, so far, so good... looks like the Navy will have a shiny new Gator Freightor soon :D
<Wow, no Big Grin smilie.. who runs this place??>;):lmao:
Take care, y'all... see yas when I get back.
And Dave Z, if there was any connection from the 7 Seas Lagoon to the Gulf of Mexico, I'd lead the mutiny and pay you a visit. :thumbsup2

This is just my weekly post to get people to come and look at the TR I updated yesterday....

Just sayin'

‘Afternoon all…
Been a might busy and it’s going to stay that way for a few days yet.
Maybe I’ll get back over here later on, we’ll see.

Happy Birthday, Rob!

A couple more hours and then it's mothers day and you can return to being unimportant.:lmao:

I’m always unimportant regardless of the day…
but I’m in good company.

Yeah, but could he get a table at Le Cellier without an ADR, that's the real question.

Yep, almost 700 of us! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I think if you can make it rain Benjamins (or whatever they are up in Canada), they'll find your name on that reservation list somewhere.
