"Hi, my name is Brad, and I am a Disneyaholic"
For several years, this has been my mantra. My wife is looking for professional help for me, but problem is they can't help you if you don't want it.

I went to DL for the 1st time in 1975. Then served as a Youth Pastor in Long Beach,CA for 6 years, and had many trips to DL with the youth. But honestly, my Disney obsession didn't start until 1999 when I stood watching Minnie holding my beautiful 3-month old baby girl and I knew I would never be the same. Since then, we have never missed a year without Disney.

SO what would qualify me to be a Disney Dad?
  • Many trips to DL, marched in the Disney Parades wearing a tutu with my little girls
  • Took our 5th wheel out one year and parked in RV park next door
  • Bought into DVC, and decided we were going to make Disney our yearly family vacation no matter what else we did

For 13 years, we have made Disney such a total part of our lives, and I absolutely LOVE planning, dreaming, researching, learning. We just went on the new Dream in November, and then for our 25th Anniversary, we left the kids behind to take a special trip just for us. So where did we want to go for our special trip... another Disney cruise of course. Just got back from an MR cruise.

It would be an honor to join your fraternity and share my passion (my wife says addiction) for all things Disney

:dancer::welcome::dancer: Emma's Dad will be around to give you your official member #:thumbsup2

:welcome: to the DISDad's Brad.

I like the Dole Whip Floats, myself. Also plan on trying Beverly at Club Cool, so I can cross that off my list of things not to get, along with turkey legs.
.

I like the Dole Whip pineapple/ vanilla swirl. I didn't like the turkey legs.

Have never been there, but I will be visiting there in August to eat at Schula's:thumbsup2

One of these days we'll get over there.

Over the last 2 weeks I've seen the movie The Outlaw Josey Wales on Tv, 5 times now on 3 different channels , It's a great movie, but I think it's being played more now then when it came out in 1976:lmao: Now if they could play The Good The Bad & The Ugly, and Two Mules For Sister Sarah, all together it would be a great TV night:thumbsup2

Great movies. I have most all Clint Eastwood westerns on VHS. I'll watch them until the tv or VCR gives out.

Welcome. Dues are payable in Dole Whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You are in the best support group as we will encourage you to spend more money on Disney trips.

hmmm.... maybe I should add basic info

Name: Brad (aka papamouse)
Wife: Carrie
Kids: Catie (18)
PattyJo (13)
Home: Carlsbad, NM
Occupation: Pastor

Next Disney trip:
Nov 2012 headed to Disneyland to experience Thanksgiving Day as a family at Disney.
Already planning June 2013 trip to Aulani to celebrate Catie's HS graduation

Welcome, Brad!

Work: Went okay, but stressful. Not from staff, but lots of technical malfunctions with registers and computers. Was damn happy to get out of there last night

Avengers: awesome. pure awesomeness. Glad we went out fot the Imax 3D experience.

Vero: priced it, and it looked a little too hight for what we want, but we've agreed to tuck that thought away for future use. As of right now, it's going to be Cocoa Beach, and might spring for Kennedy Space Center. It's looking more and more like we are repeating our big trip in 2003, which is not a bad thing.:thumbsup2

Glad to hear work went well. We've never been to Cocoa Beach but I heard it's nice.

Yes! Sending a PM your way

And back at you.

Go read my trip report now!

How's that? :rotfl2:

What wer you trying to say again? Just askin.

Yes I am, though I have had numerous phone calls already so it isn't really a vacation other than I have 90% less dishes, cleaning, and laundry to do. I'll try to get up as often on the weekends as possible but it won't be every weekend. Gas is too expensive.

Beautiful! I wish him a slow recovery with lots of time to think about what where he should have kept his hands. :lmao:

Don't get too lonely. Stop by to visit. And, let's not tell CJ where the boy was 'trying' to get his hands.

Hey guys. We've been planning a trip for what seems like forever. Right now, it looks like we'll be staying at the Swan at the end of August.

Anyone ever stay there? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

I like the Schulas suggestion and one you may not get is the ESPN Club. They have all the TVs and best yet, DRAFT BEER. Also, you can walk home drunk without worry and enjoy the night time entertainment on the Boardwalk. The food is very reasonably priced as well (given Disney prices).

Another Sunday ownage.

Had a great day. This was the last day of soccer and we finished with a win, 3-0. My dd scored another 2 goals today and just had one of those career seasons. A very proud DisDad here. I have to work tomorrow and then off the rest of the week and Memorial Day weekend. The Avengers (again) and a zoo trip are planned, but dance recital practices/ rehearsals beginning, so I won't get to do as much as I previously planned as we have to be here local for them. You all have a great week.

Glad work went OK. I enjoy Cocoa. It has a large beach area with good sand. Usually when I go up there, I get one of those tourist booklets they have at rest stops. Found some good deals on rooms.

Gonna be another long Monday, my manager likes to schedule meetings at 3 in the afternoon, when no one is going to pay attention. Might leave at my normal time and just call in from home. :mic:

Those of you who will be in disney between June 1st to June 9th, I would like to set up a Disdad's meet. We have rented the premium cabana at the poly on the 7th! We are planning a quiet dinner at the cabana around 6p but the rest of the night is wide open. So you guys can come and watch the electric water parade and wishes on the poly beach. Going to be free soda and water and I will have a rather large bottle of libations. If the live feed is working we can even set up an event to say hello to those who werent fortunate enough to make it on your trip! PM me if you plan on attending! already have a few families coming but the more the merrier! :thumbsup2

Well written Brad, glad to have you with us. I'm going to share what you posted with my DD and DSIL. I'm having trouble getting them to bring their new baby to the Disdad's Convention in January.

Congrats on the Soccer win and the short work week!

Morning guys.

Looks like Chicago has done well with its preparation for the influx of protesters. Hopefully today will pass without much incident.

CJ: Glad to hear that the Pirate Princess had a good time this weekend and that the young man will only be on the 15 day DL and not chum for your next diving excursion.

Congrats to the goal scoring machine.

Congrats on your season :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Congrats on the Soccer win and the short work week!

Thanks guys. She ended up with 20 goals scored on the season. And, I didn't just leave her in a scoring position all season. She equally played all positions and sat on bench like other players. And, since she is not the fastest player, she had to do most of it with skill. I am just still so proud of her.

Matt

I think bosses just have a cruel streak. Or, like my last one, since they really don't know what's going on, have meetings when no one will ask questions.

DW pick up a new t-shirt for ds yesterday:
