Got the room painted, soccer taken care off, errands run. Was mowing the lawn, and the lawn mower busted. I can probably fix it, but the parts (and the new blade, filter, etc that it needed already) are making me think that I should just bite the bullet and get a new one anyway.

Naturally, since it was Mother's Day, there was a lack of ads for yard equipment in the paper this week. I always thought that nothing said "Happy Mothers Day" like a new lawn mower, right?

Meh. Still have to cram in my daily run before I can have a barley soda, too.

I've needed a new lawn mower for the last couple years now, this thing is so rigged it isn't even funny:lmao:, my pull string kept getting stuck so I took it apart of course the when I did this the metal coil came undone so I just threw it away, now every time I have to start the mower I have to take the top apart and rewrap the pull string, have to do this at least 5 or 6 times while mowing the lawn:rotfl2:, If I can get it working I'm not spending the cash on a new one, guess it's a man thing:confused3

Same for my push mower. I couldn't keep it running so I played it so long that it would burn an entire tank of gas for my 1/5 acre. Once it started smoking so thick that I could no longer see the grass, I decided it was time to buy a new one.

Sounds like you burned out the rings:scared1:, that happens when you put that 110 octane fuel in them:rotfl2: Get her done:thumbsup2

Yeah, I don't know what I did. I messed with the carburetor and the fuel intake switch thingy underneath it until the engine would keep running. I guess that wasn't right.

Like I said, I could probably take it apart, get the parts and fix it - but it was a pretty mediocre (read: cheap, and worth less than we paid for it, probably) mower, and our yard is twice as big as the one that we had when we bought it. It was okay then, but I've had seven or eight years of pushing that thing around, and I'm willing to upgrade to something that moves under its own power, instead of me shoving it through the sea of grass that I laughingly call a yard.

Hey guys. Just got back from MK, solo. Had a good time. :thumbsup2 Wrote more about it on the other place and too lazy to hit copy and paste.

Hope everyone's having a great night.

Short night last night, long day, and can't sleep now. When ignorance is bliss,'tis folly to be wise.

Morning Guys!

Its finally HUMP DAY!!! Just a few more days until the lovely weekend!

Matt

I asked DW for a kegerator for Father's Day. My new plan is to just stay drunk on beer all the time. I may or may not lose weight, but either way, I won't care. Not sure if I can do my job intoxicated, so I may need to delay this plan 10 years after retirement and home mortgage is paid off.

We all need goals...

There is always the affordable way... ;)

Good morning. I kind of quit doing my pictures from the tractor seat after we got going this spring, partly because I got lazy, and partly because I was in the same tractor almost all the time so it really wasn't going to be any different from one day to the next. Now that we're done planting we're working on catching up on some other odds and ends. Coincidentally, the job I was working on last night goes along well with all this lawnmower talk.

The grass was tall enough that the tractor could barely handle running it through that mower. At least I got it knocked down now, and hopefully I can stay on top of it now. If I keep it short, I can run a few gears higher.

Another nice thing about mowing back around the woods is the scenery.

I don't know if you can see the one in the back there, but there were 2 does out there running around while I was mowing. They kept trying to hide in the tall grass until I'd get right up to them, then they'd hop up and take off running. They seemed about as interested in watching me from a distance I as I was in watching them.
