Fun night last night...

My son has had a history of asthma, an the past few nights he's been coughing a lot when he goes to bed.

Last night it was excessive, he started coughing after dinner, and after it was time for bed, and kept getting stronger and stronger until about 10:15. So we decided to go to the Hospital for a ventolin treatment, and renew his prescription on puffers.

We got there about 10:30, waited in the the waiting room for about an hour, but 11:30 or so he fell asleep on me.

Shortly there after we were called in to a room to see the Dr.

We had another hour or so wait there until we say the Dr. (in which time he fell back asleep).

So when the Dr. came... his breathing all seemed normal... :scratchin

He checked his ears, and he had a really bad ear infection. He got an antibiotic, and we went to the drug store to have it filled.

Returned home close to 1:30....

He is still sleeping this morning, I have stayed home from work to be with him.

So in summary....
Canada = Free health care.
However, that FREE health care, comes with the price of TIME!

Not to get political, but that's why I really don't want to see that type of system come south.

I'm glad your son was breathing better and got treatment. Hopefully he gets over the ear infection quickly. Maybe next time you can get a Dr. to see him while he still has the symptoms you brought him in for.

Well, I'm glad he's ok. I've been there in the hospital late at night with a child who can't breathe, and that's not a fun place to be at all.

Hey guys! I just thought I'd check in here and see if there were people who were still looking at joining us for the DISDads Convention January 10-14, 2013 who hadn't yet let us know about their interest. If you are interested, there are planning threads over at the other forum.

You can check out the basics here.

Couple things.. First, you need to get her to run the half. She's young and has plenty of time to run the full. Plus, I don't want the distinction of being the only disdad to have lost to her.
She can run the full and still probably beat my time for the half.

Big day for me. I just noticed the tag fairy visited.

That seams about normal wait times for the ER down here as well. Unless you have a steel pole stuck in your head or something. Then they cut your wait time by 30 minutes or so.
Hope your son is feeling better!

Made it just south of Nashville last night. Now in Georga.
Ugh. South of Atlanta to Disney world - the longest drive ever. :crazy2:
Have fun

You'll have to surgically remove the smile from my son's face after he goes on that ride.
If anyone tries to get a scalpel near my smile after that ride, I'm going to kick them in the teeth.

Played with the new camera last night while watching the Heat lose. Even got the external flash to work. Probably going Sunday to the Keys and test it out.

Did you guys see this POV video of Radiator Springs Racers - looks awesome!

The ride itself is pretty much Test Track, but the themeing is unbelievable.

Trying to avoid pictures and videos of the opening attractions. Want to be surprised when we visit in a couple of weeks. Eleven days until take off for Hawaii. And this time Barry, I have the dates right.

Couple things.. First, you need to get her to run the half. She's young and has plenty of time to run the full. Plus, I don't want the distinction of being the only disdad to have lost to her. Second, I did not lose to a little girl, I lost to a full grown girl. Third, Luca sleeps with the fishes. Fourth, I'll be getting at least one of those margaritas. Fifth, I need to learn how to break up a long quote like CJ's and respond to the different parts one at a time.

I didn't check but I think she waxed all you guys. She is still a little girl (in my mind at least) and yes you lost to a little girl. Glad you are making the race and convention. It is going to be fun.

They're a lot easier to catch when I leave them in the box. Just reach in and grab one!

That is why I sent it to Evan. I'm sure he will open the cage up and begin the game "Catch your dinner." Didn't leave my return address on the box because I don't want Bambi to come after me.

She can run the full and still probably beat my time for the half.

Nah, I have confidence in you. Speaking of which how is the training going?

Big day for me. I just noticed the tag fairy visited.

Congrats. What did it cost you?

Glad he is doing better. Always scary when you child is sick. Not much different than visiting an ER down here. Plus we get a bill. When the mutt that I did not want tripped me and I thought I busted my collarbone, went to the ER. Luckily I knew one of the nurses and she got me in and out fast. Otherwise I might still be there.

I probably won't be out there for 3 or 4 years, so I'm trying to watch all the videos I can. :happytv:

At least I'll have help catching them then. As much help as he'd be...

Not bad. Ran to Walgreens last night to pick up a prescription. Instead of using the one 2 blocks from the house, I sent it to the one 3 miles away. Nice little 6 mile round trip.

So, um. Awfully quiet in here this afternoon. Everybody must be playing hooky from work today.

By the way, just 24 days til my trip.
