Yes, I can see now how keeping a Canadian in suspense can be such a challenging endeavour .

This is post 2000! Having a lot of fun around here and really appriciate you guys and always looking forward to seeing what happens next here. THanks for letting me vent the past year or so about all the work issues I've had, I am sure it's gotta get tedious after a while, (lord knows it feels that way to me) BUt you guys always make it seem not so bad, shown me other workplaces can be just as rough, and make me laugh about it later. Also, I can "go to Disney" through you all, since as DW painted out, there are still 440 more days till we check in next year That's a long time without Dole Whips or Haunted Mansions to visits. BUt the persepctives I've gained for future trips are great!

We like following along with the drama at work. It's like our own little Canadian Soap Opera.

Congrats on 2000!

So, mooching BIL is at again. He is having his (&DW's) dad (my FIL) buy his family a Disney vacation this year at a family suite at one of the All Star. Then, FIL is giving them his Full size GMC Crew cab Sierra to drive there along with gas money for it. Yes, he is also buying them the DP with package. It gets even better. FIL asked DW to plan their ADRs with them. DW called her brother and said she would, but her brother said it was convenient for him right now but she could come over later.

Free trip, free food, free gas, free planning - and what does DW get? Attitude and instructions on when she can speak to him. I told her she needs to just forgt about all these mooching Beverlies but she just won't do it. She feels compelled to spend time with her family. Oh, I can't wait for the next holiday. The only thing that gets me thru, other than the alcohol, is that I tell them all what I think of them. Happy 4th of July mooch and daughter ignoring father.

Ug. Luckily, I don't have to deal with any of this on my side of the family. Evan after my mom and grandma passed away a year and a half ago (leaving only my siblings and our children/grandchildren) we all still get together as a family several times a year.
DW's family, however.....her immediate family is OK, but you go up to the next level on both her mom or dad's side and the crazies just start coming out of the woodwork.

I had to share this relatively common reaction story by my office. When I told my partners my vacation plans, they all asked me how I could spend 8 days in Disney. I told them I could spend a month there and it would still not be enough.

I thought this was a good response.....

The one I got that kind of ticked me off was when someone said something like, "Oh, you let your kids control your vacations." This was actually said to me by someone with kids just a few years older than mine.

Yeah, I do. They're not F---ing dogs who I'm going to leave in a kennel for a few weeks.

.....until I read this one. I have to deduct a point for not actually saying it out loud, but this has to be one of the lines I've heard in a long time. Bravo Sir!

Norm, sorry about the deadbeat BIL and less than ideal family situation. I'm very fortunate to get along well with both my family and the in laws. Well most of them anyway.

Its Monday once again. Got alot to do, including traveling for work once again. DEA, will be back up in your neck of the woods Tues-Thurs.

Jacked my back up over the weekend, spent most of yesterday horizontal on the bed with the heating pad. Getting old really sux. But its better than the alternative.

Church league... we no longer have one of those. They ended it after last year because it was just getting too ugly.
