That is truly funny! :rotfl2:

My cousin and her family head down in a few weeks. Back when she first started talking about taking a trip, I gave her a few tips, sites for reference etc...

Now she's practically a commando and has a binder with tabs for each day! This is her first trip to WDW and I wanted to make sure she was prepared.

Checked touringplans.com with her the other day and all of her days are like 1.5 crowd ratings!

Lucky!

That's what would be nice about having the convention this time of year. We could take over the place.

I had a co-worker go last week and before he left I asked if he made any resi's and he said he didn't need to, they would just walk up and get a table. He was locked out of all the parks on Wednesday and did not have a single table service meal. He asked me today what all the fuss about Disney is about.

I think there are times during the year in which you could wing it and have a pretty good time. I think that most of the time that's not the case and it seems that whenever someone is just going to wing it they are usually going when its going to be super crowded so it works out really poorly

Even in a less crowded time, if free dining is in effect, I think you'd be in trouble.

I know for most people rigorous planning is not synonomous with vacation, but Disney like life is a place where what you put into determines what you get out of it... unless you are a celebrity.

I remember as recently as 2008 we went and only had ADR's for a couple of meals. We were able to walk up and get seated at Crystal Palace, Sci Fi, and Libery Tree Tavern with no problems. I'd be afraid to attempt that anymore.

The worst part is when you need to change plans a few weeks ahead and can't change ADR's though. We had to just cancel a few of our TS meals and I have to say, we didn't miss them much... and appreciated saving some cash.

Since a good deal of them are free, I think I am going to try and do some of them. Who knows if we will ever have another one. :confused3

I'm torn between wanting to check it out and avoiding Indianapolis like it's the plague while all that stuff is going on. :confused3

We got burnt out on TS once when we did all of our meals that way. It takes alot of time.

My office is downtown, so I am thinking about parking there and walking to the area. I hate the traffic and all, but I am not sure if we will ever see this again. I will be going solo, my wife has no interest in any of it.
