To ease out of my rant in the last post here's some neat stuff for wrapping presents.

Both the Bacon Wrapping paper and the "bathe and brew" box ( a coffee maker in my shower why didn't I think of that) look funny to me.

What good is a smart tv if it's full of dumb programming?

That sounded more passive aggressive than I meant it to be... I think I'm just frustrated that technology seems to be all about making it easier for me to consume more content, when I really wish there would be a genuine focus on making more content that we want to consume. We've been having an ongoing discussion about technology and it's in ability to live up to expectations at my office recently. We want the Moller air car, but startups are working on the next twitter and angry birds knock offs. Shoot higher dang it.

And the choir sang…

“Aaaaaaa – men…
Aaaaaaa – men…
Aaaaaaa – men, Amen, Amen…

All together now

Aaaaaaa – men…
Aaaaaaa – men…
Aaaaaaa – men, Amen, Amen…”

Every now and then, I like a good show on economic theory, nature, history of human development, but then, I need Larry the Cable Guy to tell some walkin' fart jokes.

I couldn't agree more. I want something that makes me smarter not wastes the few brain cells I have left :thumbsup2

Started our free Netflix account today. I wanted to give it a try to see if we could lower our cable by suppelmenting this in place of about 200 channels we never watch. Anyone have good/bad opinions of Netflix? :confused3 I do like I can watch stuff on the iPad :thumbsup2

I guess we are in the minority there...When it was all one price we used both mail in and streaming...however when they changed how they were sharging we realized that we were not using streaming enough to pay the price for it so we just went with Mail in only...If streaming would ever offer new releases like Mail in does then I would probably re subscribe to it.

Just incase I can't get on the PC again (geting a new one Mon:cool1:)

Wishing you a great Holiday season:goodvibes

No matter what you celebrate we all have one thing in common, we spend it with family:goodvibes:scared1::lmao:

Glad to have you back on the boards, Randy! :yay:

Thanks Chris, trying to get back in old habits. Just need to get through 3 more days and then I'm off until the new year. Hope I make it!?

Wow, I can't believe that its been 2,359 days since I first joined the Dis. Given that this is my 1,000th post, apparently I don't have a whole lot to say for myself. :lmao:

Congrats on the milestone!:cool1:

The store just opened 2 weeks ago.

I don't believe they have started building any condos there (if they are).

When they started talking about the project (10 years ago at least) they were going to leave the outside facade and have retail on the first few floors, then condos.

I only use the streaming but I think as soon as I have watched the TV series I'm interested in i'll probably cancel it, I'm not real impressed with the movies and it seems everywhere I stop has redbox so I'm leaning that way.

There is a 4 part miniseries called Jeykell on there you should check out it's a really good modern twist on Jeykell and Hyde.

Morning David and everyone else out there.

Only thing left to do is wrap the presents and figure out (and buy) what we are going to have for Christmas dinner. Thinking something in the beef food group.

Walking through the grocery section in Target last night and saw they have prime rib roasts for 5.99 a pound. Might have to save the ham for New Years.

I miss North American prices on meat...I just bought 400 grams (almost a pound) of ground pork for a little more than $6. And it was discounted. A pound of ground beef was more than $10...

And the prime rib - is on sale this week at our grocery store (Sobey's) - for $3.49 / lb :thumbsup2

That was what I am thinking. My Target doesn't have meat but Publix does. Not at that price though. A tradition is to have ham for New Years so I can make navy bean soup with the leftovers and throw some hunks in the back eyed peas which is a southern tradition I got from my mom. If you eat them on New Year's Day you are supposed to have good luck the rest of the year.

Wow. No way I could live there. Must have pig and cow. Interesting take on your perspective on what is going on in N. Korea. That and the recurring experience of watching the news and the reporting of missile launches. Can imagine watching CNN and hearing that Canada launched another missile. Does Canada even have missiles? If so are they filled with your so called bacon?

It's hard to go wrong with the beef group. It's that tasty dependable friend that's always there for you.

Wow! 10 bucks for a pound of ground beef? Are other food prices, like on fruits and vegetables that expensive too? What are your staples?

I think they are in the process of refurbing all the targets. Even the smaller ones are getting small grocery sections. They also have Super Targets which like Super Walmart. They have a full grocery section. Canada doesn't have to use missiles to get their bacon to take over. They already gotten McDonalds to use it on one of their breakfast sandwiches. They only way to drive further adoption of Canadian bacon would be to make it look, taste and have the same texture as real bacon.

Morning guys! :goodvibes

Hope everyone's having a great holiday season so far. Things are getting a little hectic/crazy around my house, but it's to be expected. Looking forward to surprising DD about our Disney trip on Christmas morning... It's been tough trying not to talk about it at all around her!

It's after 9 which is just a couple of cups of coffee away from lunch and lunch time is about half way through the day so really you only have like 2.5 days to go.

How did you find Jeykell on netflix? Did you know about it ahead of time and search for it? or did netflix recommend it? I'm trying tof figure out if there is some content discovery tool that will unlock the full potential of netflix streaming.

Does anyone know why touring plans has been doing so many updates? I have received 4 in the past week. Going up then down then up then split. :confused3

I think someone pulled Randall's finger! :scared1:

:rotfl2:

That has to be the reason why things are changing!

I've got a few emails myself. :confused3

Oh - I forgot to tell you all...

Installed 16 GB of memory in my iMac last night!!!!

They're small pieces of metal that a stapler uses to hold paper together, but that's not important right now.
