Hello all,
Thanks for the good wishes, let's hope something comes soon on the job front.

I got back from the test and a few errands and already had the results. I have a rating of 78.50, whatever that might mean to the USPS. :confused3 This score is valid until Dec 2017 for whatever other USPS jobs I might apply for.

On a different note, (apologies to those who read my FB post this AM but this has added info) my DW woke me this morning around 4:30 needing my assistance. She had a nerve biopsy done yesterday afternoon and had two incisions, one on each leg. This morning she took the bandages of prior to taking a shower and one would not stop bleeding. I rebandaged her with a 2x3 adhesive bandage that soaked through almost immediately. I found a non-stick 4x6 pad, some gauze and re-did the bandage. Took her to the Dr when I could and when the cut if off, there was no more bleeding. The office staff were very impressed with the job I did on it. By this time it was almost 10:00 AM and since she starts work at 5:30 and lunch is at 10:30, she decided to take the whole day off.

Nice job on the bandage, Andrew!:thumbsup2
This summer I was laying carpet in my basement and and sliced open the meaty part of my left hand, between the thumb and wrist. I bandaged it up as much as I could with one hand (while trying to keep from bleeding too much). I told DS4 to grab his Nintendo DS and a few games, because we were heading to the hospital. The nurse starts unwrapping the bandages to take a look a the wound and asks DS if he wrapped it. He said no, so the nurse looked at me and said "Eh, not bad for only using one hand.":rotfl:

Reminds me that mine needs updating as well. Perhaps if I really put my mind to it, I can finish it before we hit the 1 year anniversary of the actual trip?!?!?

I don't know how you do it. I was thinking of doing one but A) Never done one and don't know how to start or where or what to start with. B)If i did start one i would probably forget what we did as it was seven months ago and i can't remember things from last week so i would be going back and editing things in i forgot and it would be a mess.

Our DD has not questioned me about Santa yet. I was worried when we took her to the town tree lighting and she saw the fire department Santa. In about a week we are taking her to the Macy's Santa in NYC. We will see if she makes any connections.

You could always use the they are Santa's helpers because he can not be everywhere during this season as he is so busy helping the elves in the North pole building toys for her. Delivery is key and has to be said at the right moment though.

We did the dessert party once, and we've watched fireworks from the Terrace several times. I'll see if I can dig up any photos or video from it. I would estimate that there were about 100 people?? :confused3 If you are familiar with the Terrace seating, it was only the lower most level. We were assigned a table and made several trips to the dessert table while we waited for the fireworks. At that time, we got up and moved to the railing.

I like watching the fireworks from there because you can sit down (you almost have to sit down because of the overhang, unless you are at the railing) And Tink flies right toward you and over your head if you are at the far end of the terrace.

That sounds cool. I will book it as soon as i get home then. I had the DW watching some youtube videos taken from there last night and I think she liked it.

When I got my first car shortly after getting my license, my father followed me home from the car lot and pointed out to me that I was too far to the right in the lane. I think I was overly concerned about the oncoming trafffic in the other lane and not worried as much about parked cars or other things on the side of the road. I had no idea until he pointed it out.

My fathers only concern for me when he was teaching me (more like refreshing because i had driven for him several times since the age of 13, plus driving tractors) was that he said, and i quote, "Get your foot off of the clutch pedal before I break it." Other than that I wasn't too bad, if you take out the speeding tickets, the mailbox i hit, the car i rear ended (turned out to be one of my football coaches) because of dogs (long story, dogs not in the vehicles), and my first car that I rolled 2x and went to school the next day. This was all within my first 2 years of having my licence. Since then it has only been a couple of speeding tickets, and close calls because of other drivers. That is all in the past and i hope not repeat it.

Maybe we should implement a system like that on all roads? An inverted rail and then new drivers get a "training wheel" to help them stay in the middle.

I used to, when i first started driving to use the fold in the center of the hood of the vehicle. Now they don't have that fold in the center as much but if you line that up with the white line it 'usually' had you pretty close to the center of the lane.

Never saw that song before. Awesome!!
How could you have never seen that clip. INCONCEIVABLE!!

Unfortunately, the video is not available in Korea...

Well i will just have to find another one that is.
What does Korea have against Disney anyways, Gesh

Glad to hear you got your results. Good luck on any jobs you apply for. Also, good work on bandaging up DW. Glad to hear she got some rest after all that.

Looks like the NFL knows where to turn when it needs some training in customer relations...
NFL teams with Disney for Super Bowl XLVI

Interesting. I think it was monday I was googling about contacting Disney and I came across something dated a few years back that was all about improving Disney customer relations. It was very interesting to read. I'll see if I can find it again.

I don't know how you do it. I was thinking of doing one but A) Never done one and don't know how to start or where or what to start with. I started mine late (about 6 or 7 months after we returned). I actually had to reference the time stamps on my pics and videos, as well as look at some of the receipts I still had to fill in the blanks of what we did. :lmao: DW was also helpful in filling in some of the blanks and straightening out some of the facts.

You could always use the they are Santa's helpers because he can not be everywhere during this season as he is so busy helping the elves in the North pole building toys for her. Delivery is key and has to be said at the right moment though.

Good idea. I'll definitely have to go over our plan with DW to make sure we are on the same page if and when it comes up.

That sounds cool. I will book it as soon as i get home then. I had the DW watching some youtube videos taken from there last night and I think she liked it.

I know some people would complain about paying that much for reserved seating or paying that much for just desserts... but I enjoyed it. We actually had a rezzie to do the dessert party again the night of our arrival for our last trip, but we didn't make it to florida that day and missed it.

How could you have never seen that clip. INCONCEIVABLE!!

I have no idea how I missed that one! :confused3

BTW, i think you quoted me more times in that post than all the times I've been quoted since joining the DDC. :lmao:

saw this on the budget board.

http://coupons.target.com/target-holiday-elves-coupons

This is a target coupon for a $10 target giftcard when you make a $50 purchase. Supposedly, you can purchase Disney Gift cards at Target and get the target gift card... If you do this a few times and then use the accumulated Target gift cards to get an additional Disney gift card?

so something like...

print 5 coupons, (and go through 5 times, or find a cashier to ring you up 5 different times) and purchase 5 $50 disney gift cards. Then use your 5 $10 gift cards to purchase another $50 disney gift card. You would then have $300 in disney gift cards for $250. Use that money to buy tickets or whatever on your trip.

or just get some target GC for paying for your trip using Disney GCs.

Not too long ago, I picked her up from preschool and while driving home, DD says to me: "Daddy. You know, in Disney World, you can see Mickey in all different costumes and in different places? Well, I think there are actually lots of Mickeys." :scared1: I didn't see that coming. So I said, "Well, that's an interesting thought, but I've only seen one Mickey at time. Have you ever seen more than one Mickey at the same time?" She said "No." and I quickly changed the subject.

[Channeling some Family Fued] Good Answer. GOOD Answer.

Yikes!! I'm a little scared to ask this question- and if you don't want to answer, I completely understand- but how exactly do they retrieve said stone?
!

Heck I dont care....we are all guys :rotfl2:...I talked to anesthesia today and I made it perfectly clear that I was to be out cold before any of the blankets came off!!!:rotfl2: Then they are going to take the most unthinkable route with scopes and lasers into my bladder and right ureter!!! Hopefully the stone will come out without a fight!!! I have to be there at 845 am and scheduled for 1045...we shall see!!!

Fine print on coupon reads: "GiftCards and tax will not be included in determining purchase total." They usually do that with any discounts, rebates, and gift card offers.

Just like my Disney Debit card that earned Disney Rewards - you could not earn and rewards via taking out cash. If so, I would have taken out my maximum every day and then deposited it back in my account - thus earning 'free' rewards. But they watch out for people like me. :)

I'm all checked in and relaxing a bit in my room at Pop Century, before heading over to meet up with other Reunion folks at the Tambu Lounge at the Poly.

Also, I need to mention here that my wife ROCKS! Not only did she OK this solo trip to WDW, but today she went above and beyond to rescue me from me own screw up.

I was finishing up my packing late last night - electronics always come last. And I was in the midst of gathering electronics at about 11:30 p.m when Squeaker came downstairs looking for me, because he was wide awake and couldn't sleep. So I stopped what I was doing, got him tucked back into bed, and went back to the packing. But the thing that I was in the process of retrieving when Squeaker came downstairs? That was the camera battery charger. Which I managed to completely forget after that interruption.

I tried three different stores when I landed here in Orlando, and couldn't find one (Target, Best Buy, and Ritz Camera). Miriam happened to call me while I was exiting Ritz, and when I explained that I'd stupidly left behind the camera battery, she immediately volunteered to FedEx it to me here at POP. She'd gotten it done before I even got checked into the resort. My battery should be here by sometime tomorrow, in plenty of time for the vast majority of my trip!

Well, there are a couple of people on the budget board claiming that they did indeed purchase Disney Gift Cards and used the coupon. The thought over there was that the gift cards excluded were only Target gift cards.

This is just what a couple of posters said and no one has contradicted it yet, though there are several skeptics. If I had a reason to purchase a disney gift card... i might try it just to see if it works.

Glad to hear that your all settled in; hope you have a great trip (I’m not sure how you couldn’t have a great time at Disney, but just the same…)

And Andy is right… You now owe your DW big time. You got a good one there.

I don't know how you do it. I was thinking of doing one but A) Never done one and don't know how to start or where or what to start with. I say go ahead and give it a try. There are no rules for writing a TR. You just dive in and figure it out along the way. I started my first one rather late in the game as well, but there are methods that can help with the memory thing…

And that pretty much the list of the best methods of remembering what needs to go into a TR. Especially the: “fill in the blanks” part.

I actually have another method that helps me out with remembering the details. Each evening of a trip I sit down before falling into bed and write a list of short phrases for the major events that day. This won’t do you as much good now, but you could still give it a try with what you still remember now and you can use them to help organize your updates.

Sometimes these phrase lists are an interesting read in themselves. Here’s a random part of one day in the one that I’ll be starting up in the next day or so…

Wednesday:

I’m Makin’ Waffles
The GW
Once More around the Block
The Problem with Bus-2
Strawberry Fields Forever
A Cappella
Going Downtown
Pier 16
Bridges
Yard Arms and Lights
The Problem with Bus-1
Fifteen Loons
Final Rehearsal
Pizza Party
So… are you stupid too?
Early to Bed

I love the way you think... :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, we don't have that promo here in Canada.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys about this... last night was fun. I'm only home for 4 evenings after vacation before I have to leave for a conference, so obviously, I have things I need to get done... I find out when I get home from work yesterday that the in-laws are coming over. DW then shows them pictures and videos from the trip.

Didn't realize she videoed It's a Small World.:headache:

Last year when we were down I rode on my solo outing and recorded it for DW and the kids who missed it cause it was closed most of our trip. If I didn;t have others in the boat, I'd have recorded a commentary track for it.

I still miss the sad clown with the "help" sign :lmao:

Did your local beer make the list?

One I drink - Great Lakes Dortmunder - Cleveland did!

The Fifty Best Beers

Nope, I doubt many Canadian Craft beers were sampled either. List seems very American Craft oriented with some Belgians thrown in. Only one we carry year-round is Duvel. I bookmarked the site for further reading though, since I can offically say"It's my job!"
