DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

We had a wonderful time in Chattanooga & I really enjoyed my afternoon tea. My hubby's bday is tommorrow so I won't be going to WW tommorrow so that I can cook him a nice dinner (just as well as I ate too much this weekend.)

A little treat for all my DIS buddies........I seem to find a bit of Disney magic no matter where I go.
This is a picture from a sculpture garden in Chattanooga near the B & B we stayed at........it was called Mickey & Snow White. Got a :teeth: out of this Diser.

So I'm down .8 pounds. But better than the actual number loss is the fact that I can now wrap a normal sized towel around my body. :Pinkbounc :woohoo:  :cheer2:

Great Job Becky :thumbsup2 .........sometimes those little things mean more than the numbers on the scale.
I didn't go last night because of fixing hubby bday dinner, but I am happy to report that I am back on program after my Chattanooga weekend.

Well, things havent been going as nice as i would have liked, but i weighed in at 153 this morning..The other day, i tried on all my clothes for the cruise and everything fit from the summer, so thats good, i guess.

Just keep on trying, Jen! You are doing so well! I just don't know how you do it all with school, etc. That's a lot of stress, and we all know how bad stress is for weight loss. You look gorgeous! Keep that in mind, ok?

Hi guys - my brother just sent me a link for a free daily yoga session on the internet. I'm downloading today's to see if it's any good but here's the link: http://www.yogatoday.com/

I started doing yoga a couple of years back and it's quite calming when you get into it - good for flexibility too. I haven't done any for a while as I got bored with the dvds I had - I like the way this is a different class every day - and there's over 100 to choose from in the library already!

I second what Glynis said - and besides I think you look perfect as you!

Isn't it amazing how we've conditioned ourselves to believe all the negative about ourselves, and not the good? That's one thing that needs to change before anything else. I guess it's just easier to believe all the negative. We get so bombarded with images from the media, and we decide that since we don't look like that, we are in need of change.

For what it's worth, I have found that since I lost all the weight I still saw the "fat girl" in the mirror. I wondered when that would end, and my husband told me it would end as soon as I stopped calling myself the "fat girl." So, each morning I get up and look at myself in the mirror and look for the good instead of focusing on the bad. I've started to see that I am a pretty darn good looking woman. I think we all are!!!

Great attitude Glynnis.......as always. :thumbsup2

Had to share with my buddies......I got my Magical Express stuff today for my trip. Wooooooooo hoooooooooooo.
Any envelope with ::MickeyMo on it gets me all excited. I know it's just luggage tags & tickets for the bus but still :dance3: that means it's getting closer.

Heyyyyy Half-Marathoners!

10 weeks from today we'll be running/walking the streets of WDW and headed for the finish! :yay:

Hope everyone's training is going well. No change for me from my last check-in.... maintaing weight (which, Deb - I agree is the hardest part... but I would rather still be losing! I'm not in that "good" maintenance phase... I'd call it more of a plateau  ), doing well with the "long runs" but virtually nothing else on the other days :guilty: My body is holding up well, although I'm a little nervous about getting back outside and running instead of doing it at the gym. It looks like it's about that time though, since they won't let me do the half on a treadmill! ;)

Hope you all are doing well! :goodvibes

A quick posting on here since I did not post earlier in the week. I deliberately did not weigh in on Tuesday since I enjoyed myself very much last weekend at the F&W Festival!

But I am happy to report that this morning I am back down to the -75 pounds I was at before I left last Thursday, so I am tickled pink!

Keep maintaining everyone, it is a lot better than gaining! ;)

Oh my goodness! 10 weeks! Is that all we have left????? Yikes!!!! Well, I guess I'll have to kick Alan into gear! I'm doing well, still keeping my miles under time! I'm going to try to do a long distance walk this afternoon, after we get back from the pumpkin patch! My foot is holding up really well on my 4-5 mile walks, so we'll see what happens!

It's good to see you here, Jen!!! I miss you tons and tons and tons!!!!

Hey Jennifer, good to hear from you. Considering that I am laying here on the couch recovering from surgery on my leg (fasciotomy for anterior and lateral compartment release if that means anything to you) I don't know how I'll be able to train enough to be ready. But since we've paid for everything and will be there, I am still going to start, just not convinced I will be able to finish. I was up to 6 miles at the 15 min/mile pace earlier this year before my leg just started getting worse and worse and slowing me down. I finally got a diagnosis and now the surgery, but probably too late, because by the time I heal enough to start training again I will probably only have 4-6 weeks left best case. Oh well, I will still be there, even if I get picked up by the bus.

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing well, and I can't wait to cheer everyone on. Keep up all the good work.

 It does mean something to me! Are you in pain?! Were you before the fasciotomoy?! (dumb question, sorry). I hope you're feeling better soon!

Well believe it or not I have had pain for about 25 years, but never really knew what was causing it. I started having pain in the outside of my lower legs/calves whenever I would walk quickly across campus in college, trying to make it to classes on time. Over the years I would have pain sometimes when I walk a lot, other times not so bad. In college I tried running, and gave it up because it hurt too much, but I never went to a doctor about it, just assumed I was not cut out for a lot of exercise.

So this year when it started bothering me a lot again when I was trying to train, I started researching on the internet and found what I thought might be the problem, but it still took me many months to make up my mind to go to a doctor that could diagnose my problem. So here I am, and I am not in too much pain, but I can't walk too well, hobbling around the house and laying on the couch. I had the surgery on Thursday, so it has only been 2 days. I haven't had to take any of the vicodin that was prescribed, so I think it hasn't been too bad actually. I am just anxious to heal enough to try walking again, and see if it helps my problem. I got my right leg done because it has always been the worst, but if it helps a lot, I might have to get the left done some day too.

Not too many people seem to be familiar with my problems, but it has been a very frustrating thing and I can't believe it took me 25 years to get it diagnosed, but again I've never been much of an athlete, so I always thought that maybe I wasn't stretching enough or I was just uncoordinated and causing my own problems. Let's hope this actually helps.

Thanks for your good thoughts.

Ellen

I think so! My new shoes are the best! I didn't do my long distance walk today. Got hit with a headache at the pumpkin patch, so I took a nap instead! I'll try again tomorrow!
