DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Vicki - You can do it!!!

Glynis - Remember you will be at DL and it is ok to have a few treats! If you WALK WALK WALK and drink WATER WATER WATER, then you will do great and either drop a few lbs or stay the same beacuse of what you eat. I went last Sept and had ice cream a few times (didn't finish it), had a corn dog at the red wagon, didn't eat the best foods, but because we walked and walked and walked and drank water water water I ended up 3 lbs lighter than when I left home. Have a good time and it will be fine. I didn't reach my goal weight at the time I have 5 lbs to go, but when I got home I had only two lbs and it was fabulous!!! YOU CAN DO IT AND ENJOY THE TRIP AND FOOD.

That's my plan. Lots of water and walking. I plan on enjoying everything. We have dinner reservations at Rainforest Cafe for Sunday night. I've never eaten there, so I'm excited. I know that it's not the best food, but it's an experience. Has anyone ever eaten there? I know there's one in Orlando, and I'm assuming that the menu is the same. What would you recommend?

Well, it wouldn't quite go with this thread, unless you all shared :rolleyes1

But the chocolate volcano is the BEST! :thumbsup2

Way to do Elin!!!

Had a wild past few weeks, so I have been up and down a little, but I have stayed w/i a few pounds. I am now going to work on taking off about 10 more pounds so I will be at the weight I was before my girls came along.

Goal for the week......
Drink water water water
No desserts every night. Just tow or three times (cut back slow)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Paula -- sweets are my downfall too. I would eat birthday cake for dinner rather than a salad or a steak! However, NutriSystem has some yummy desserts that curb that sweet tooth, although they are on the small side as portions go. ;)

I'm checking in for the week. Down 1 more pound. I just can't seem to get the 2 lb a week thing going again & I only ate 1/2 of my flex points this week. Oh well, 1 is better than the 1/2 I lost last week.

Good job Elin you are getting close to the 50lb mark.

It's weigh in day...I'm so excited, because I get a new clippie!!! :tigger: Remember I said that I thought I was retaining water last week. I guess I must have been, because I lost 4.5 pounds this week for a total so far of 25.5 pounds.

Beth

Way to Go Elin and Beth. That is a lot of weigh lost for both of you. I have been really good on my dieting with the exception of not feeling well last sunday. I cheated a bit just to eat something. I worked the 5 out of the last 6 nights so I haven't been able to walk or run around our block, but I swear I've been running my butt off at work. We've been busier than normal and understaffed which is normal :confused3. I think I'm down 4 lbs on the scale, but nothing too dramatic. I do fit into my pants better though. I haven't had any soda in a week and a half, and with the exception of Sunday, only a few low carb treats. I got some low carb dessert recipes off the web and I'm going to make a few for camping this weekend. I'm hoping that I won't cheat if I have something low carb to snack on. I know my Mother has been baking since last weekend so I'm sure there will be lots of temptation.

Deb

:rotfl: I can't believe I'm posting on this thread while tucking into a treacle tart and ice cream!! :rotfl:

Saw your new clip on the DDA thread Beth and just popped by to say Way to Go Girl!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Good show, Beth!

Deb - I am certain that the 4 pounds has made a difference in how your pants fit. Don't berate yourself. You are doing just fine.

Clare-what's treacle tart???? :rotfl:

Way to go Deb........feeling your clothes get looser is such a great feeling.

Beth.....you are doing so super. I have been at this since Nov & you are going to pass me up soon you are loosing so well. My 32lbs sometimes seems not that much for almost 6 months, but I know that it is good progress & that weight loss slows down. My body seems extra determined to go slow & I also know I need to kick up the excercise if I want to loose faster.

Melanie, you are doing great! I have so much to lose that it is coming off faster in the beginning. Mine will soon slow down, too. I have a long, long way to go.

Beth

What is treacle tart???? My oh my... :)

It's a pastry bottomed tart filled with golden syrup and breadcrumbs... I bought mine from the shop but here's a recipe:

http://thefoody.com/pudding/treacletart.html

It's very sweet but delicious served hot with ice cream... yum :goodvibes

Thanks Beth....guess we all need some encouragement sometimes. Thanks for the pat on the back. :goodvibes

That sounds really yummy Clare, but I'm not sure it's a good thing to eat while reading a weight loss progress thread. :rotfl2: I am addicted to the pictures of Disney dining thread (aka the food porn thread) & then sit here asking myself.......is this good for my diet????? :lmao: but I tell myself it's Disney food & anything Disney makes me happy so I allow myself to look & drool. :teeth:

Hey all! I'm back. I only gained a pound on the cruise, and that's partly because I can't remember if I started at one weight or another.... so maybe I maintained! Either way, I'm thrilled.

This weekend has been hectic, so I've eaten out a lot but I've also not stopped working (moving) so I should be ok. As soon as we get settled in, I plan on updating and sort of starting over with a new plan when my schedule changes for work. I'll keep you all posted, so you can get on me about it!

Congrats to all of you for sticking with it! :thumbsup2
