DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Ok, we're back from the 2 mile loop! We did the shorter, because it's pitch dark out! But daggone it, I was determined that we were going to walk today! :rotfl:

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better day. I did really well eating, until my mother brought out pieces of cake left over from Kyle's bday. I ate a small piece, but at least I wrote it down!

So tomorrow it's more exercise and no cake..... I'm not sure I'm going to get anywhere this way!

I BROKE THE 30LB BARRIER. I lost 2 lbs this week & finally am over the 30lb mark. I've lost a total of 31 lbs now.
Yippeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Jen---I hope today has been a better day for you preparing for your cruise.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Make good choices, drink that water & just keep going. :woohoo:

Way to go, Melanie!!! :cheer2:

Today was weigh-in day once again. I lost another 2 pounds this week for a total of 20 pounds so far.

I'm on day 36/100 (I think) for the 100 day challenge...Anne Marie can verify that. :) I hurt my calf yesterday, so I won't be getting much exercise for a day or two. I hope that doesn't slow me down too much.

Beth

Yep, Beth is 3 days up on me ( I fell off the wagon for 3 days) so I am at 33/100. WI this a.m. & I am down 1 lb for a total of 11lbs!!!

Congrats Beth & Melanie!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I went to the doctors today for my yearly "girl" exam. It had actually been 3 years since my last visit. Everything went well and if the pap comes back normal I don't need to go again for 3 more years :cool1: . We discussed my weight loss as I was nearly 200 lbs at my last visit. She had asked me about bladder control issues which I had been having since the kids were born. I hadn't even realized that the issues had gone away with the weight  I discussed losing more weight and she really jumped down my throat about not worry about what others think and just being at a medically healthy weight. I assured her that "medically" I could still stand to lose a few lbs. She pulled up my BMI and I am at 27% which she said was really good although on the high end of normal for my height. So she agreed that I could lose 10 - 20 lbs, but that I did not NEED too. She then told me that she expects me (all women) to gain 15 to 20 lbs between the ages of 40 - 50. That is when women gain belly fat which has something to do with the ovaries shutting down and the belly fat actually produces low levels of estrogen keeping us healthier :confused3 . So I told her that I'd better get my butt in gear and lose weight now if she expects me to gain it back in a few short year :lmao: :lmao: She got a chuckle out of that.

Funny Thing: We did a skit on our campout and my 3 yr old Colby was the dentist. He had to say "Open Wide, This won't hurt a bit, HeHehehehehehe" When Colby did it he was so cute and the laugh was evil. So today when I'm in the stirups I kept hearing him say that. It was hard not to laugh.

Quick post here.... great job to Melanie, Beth and Anne Marie. And that is a wonderful talk you had with your OB-GYN, Deb. Makes you know that you are healthy at your weight, and that is the most imporatant thing after all.

I weighed in yesterday and am down another 2 pounds so that is 44 total lost for me. Slowly but surely!

Deb..........that is hilarious :rotfl2: . I assist on paps every day at work so now I will think of that when I am trying to be all professional. :lmao: Excellent job on your weight loss too..it feels good when the doctor tells you you are donig a good job. :thumbsup2

Great losses Beth ( I love your new Mickey icon) & Anne Marie.

Yeah Elin you go..........that is great. I know slowly but surely wins the race. It took me forever between 20 & 30 lbs for some reason. I hope it isn't the same for between 30 & 40.

Keep going everyone.

pixiedust: for all of us to help us get through the holiday weekend pixiedust:

I'll repeat that! I've been wanting to EAT tonight even though I'm not particularly hungry. I just finished a BIG glass of water, and that is helping. We are headed to my parents' house for the weekend, and I always overindulge there. I am going to be extra vigilant this time and really control myself. I know that I can do it.

A little more... :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'm sorry. I hope they can get you sinus issues sorted out quickly. I'm sure you will be exercising before you know it. In the meantime could you send your motivation to exercise over to me, I seem to have lost mine and don't know where to find it :confused3

Hello! How was everyone's holiday weekend? I did a great job at my parents' house, though I haven't lost any weight at all so far this week. I usually gain when I'm there, so that is definitely an improvement. I stuck to a plan and stayed away from the candy dishes that my mom has spread around the house. I was even a lot more active than I have been lately. :Pinkbounc

Beth

I have rededicated myself to losing weight. I put on last years bathing suit and it definitely fits differently :furious: I can't believe that I allowed myself to gain weight. I swore I would never let myself, yet I keep eating sweets and drinking soda (diet, but still). This morning I got up with a new attitude. The weather is nice so I will walk or bike ride or something everyday, no excuses. No soda and no sweets. I cannot believe how much baking I have done lately just to feed my sweettooth. Not good. I will not buy a new summer wardrobe so unless I want to wear long pants I'm going to have to stick to my guns. Sorry about my rant, but maybe if I write it down i'll be able to do it. pirate:

Deb

You can do it, Deb! It's frustrating to gain weight back, but it sounds like you are in a great place to get the job done!

Beth

Well I only lost 0.5lbs this week, but that's better than a gain I know. :teeth:
We worked in the yard this weekend & I sweat enough that I should have lost about 10 pounds. :rotfl:

Deb good for you for the recommitment to your goal. You can do it.

Beth good for you for resisting temptation. :thumbsup2

Jennifer how goes it for the cruise prep? :confused3

Let's all keep going. We can do it. :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Well, even though I asked you to.... I wish you wouldn't ask :rotfl:

It's been some pretty rotten timing. I'm not just talking about lame-excuse-provoking things such as exams, moving, etc.... but it's also that time of month for me. So I really can't tell a bit :confused3

I'm hoping that when I try to buy a swimsuit on Friday, I will be "normal" as far as water weight and then I can report a loss.

Unfortunately, the only exercise I have done is walks about every 2 days with Kyle. Plus some serious lifting at storage today ;) I've been eating well though, minus birthday pie yesterday, so - once my weight fluctuates back down, hopefully I will have at least not gained anything. :confused3

Really, I'm just trying to have a good attitude about it. I'm praying that at least a few pairs of shorts fit, and from there I'll just swear off cameras. We'll still have a good time :teeth:

I will keep you posted though right before I leave as to whether or not I had to buy a whole new wardrobe! :rolleyes1
