DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Did I kill the thread?????????? :sad2:

Absolutely not! This thread seems to go in streaks.

I have had a bad week so I haven't wanted to post myself. I've gained back a couple of pounds. I'm still down into my new pant size but had to get back to being serious about cutting back.

I think we all have our ups and downs on this thread. I would have posted sooner, but DH has monopolized the computer all weekend. Who does he think he is? Doesn't he know I need my DIS fix?

I'm doing ok. I'm down a couple of pounds, but haven't exercised today or yesterday. Bad me. Oh well, back at it tomorrow.

Just got back from church, and I have to say, I love the compliments. Everyone is starting to notice the weight loss. It's making me smile more, too. My self-esteem is shooting up!

Good I'm glad I didn't kill the thread :rotfl: .
Maybe with Valentines Day getting close people are eating too much chocolate or something. :rotfl2:
Strength & pixiedust: to help us all get through chocolate day..opps I mean Valentines Day.
P.S. Great job Glynis :thumbsup2 .It really does make a difference when people start noticing & commenting on your loss.

I'm here too. I've had a busy weekend and this week looks just as busy. Somehow the Nor'ester missed us here in central vermont. I had to laught when I saw Dumby posting on the other thread that they were getting snow in Alabama. Here in VT we got barely a dusting. We haven't even gotten a chance to go sledding this year. What a strange year. Either is is warm (40 degrees) so everything is muddy or it is so cold that you don't want to go outside. When we have snow we get lots of exercise during the winter, but not this year. I'm so ready for Spring. I want to get out and exercise!!!

Weigh-in day for me. Lost 1 lb this week-not bad after 3lb loss last week.
Updated my stuff on the Weigh loss progress thread.
How did everyone survive Valentines Day??? I only ate 1 piece of chocolate & my husband is taking the rest of the chocolate I gave him to work. :thumbsup2 He gave me a bag of Very Cherry Jelly Bellys which are much more diet friendly.

I had half a warm delights cake with a small scoop of ice cream. That is very good for me. Especially since I used to have dessert every day and this is the first in a week. I'm maintaining my 19-20 pound weight loss. I need to get serious about exercise now to lose anymore. I think I've went as far as I'm going to with cutting back on the pepsi and other calories.

Well, I just updated on the Weight Loss Progress thread. I'm down another 2 pounds! Valentine's Day went pretty well. I had one piece of sugar free chocolate, and that was all I needed! I have to travel to my brother's house for a christening this weekend, so I'm hoping I can stick to the plan. I'm stocking up on pickles and jerky for the car, and hopefully all will be well!

Thanks, Karen for the next bit of the training schedule. I'm feeling quite good about my training. I hope I can stick with it!

Have a great day, everyone!

I have updated my weight loss on the Weight Loss Progress thread too. I am still losing weight, but this week it was only 1.8 pounds. No disappointment here though, since my exercise suffered due to my yucky cold, work schedule and my poor dog's health too. I am back on track with the exercise this week, so hopefully I will see more than 2 pounds again next week! I am down over 14 pounds in a month, so mark me tickled :)

My lovely students have been so nice to me this week. I have received 13 boxes of candy and numerous candy bars, etc. I sent them all to work with my DH with the exception of the Dove chocolate covered almonds. I figure if I really get the urge, those would suffice for that chocolate fix brought on by smelling all the chocolate around me! I will replace my "dessert" portion of my NutriSystem diet if that need arises...

Great job everyone. I am so impressed by your dilligence. I have not been so good, but am rededicated yet again. I told dh that we need to set a consequence if we do not stay on track, otherwise we don't seem to have the will power that we did a couple of years ago. I suggested that if we don't get to our bottom weight from our previous weight loss by May 1st that we shorten our WDW vacation in 2007 by one day per month that we don't reach our goal. Disney vacations are our passion so shortening a vacation would be a huge penalty for both of us. With that as a consequence, I'm sure that we would push each other and be much more accountable. What do you guys think?

That would certainly do the trick for me!!!! As for my DH, I'm not so sure. He'd be so hung up on the cost of a vacation, that cutting it short would not be a hardship to him.
:rotfl2:

I've really got to turn his attitude around!

Deb that sounds like a great motivator to me. We already have a WDW/Disney cruise planned for December & as you can see on the other thread I am using that cruise as one of my goals to help keep me motivated.
My husband also keeps saying....good grief  you are going to need a whole new wardrobe soon since you are doing so well & that is pretty motivating too-the thought of being able to buy new clothes & not dread shopping for them.

Thanks for the support. I have done so well the last 2 days and my mother sent brownies home today  . I will not eat a brownie. I will not eat a brownie.......

I know what you are going through. My DH brought home Pringles. I will not eat a pringle, I will not eat a pringle ...

Aren't new clothes a great motivator! I have bought several new pairs of pants for our trip to Disney. I feel like a new woman. I haven't been in this size pants in 7+ years. I didn't think I'd go down anymore but with the support of my DDA friends, I may go down another pant size before I'm done. My new pants are getting loose already. Woohoo!!!!!!

That is great, keep up the good work. If your new pants are already loose, I bet you might be able to go down 2 pant sizes. :thumbsup2

I have been mostly lurking the boards a lot reading -
and I saw a recipe last week for orange chicken that sounded delish! Now I can't find it - was it not in here?

Hi All!

I was wondering if you were all aware of the W.I.S.H. board here on the DIS. It is a board specifically designed for DIS members who are looking to change their lives by getting healthy, whether that be losing weight, building muscle, changing their diet, or whatever. The people on the W.I.S.H. board are incredibly supportive and would be very welcoming to everyone here if you would all just give them the chance.

The only reason I bring it up is that it seemed really odd that there are weight loss threads on here when the DIS has an entire forum designed specifically for that purpose. I just wanted to make sure that you were aware that the board existed since most of the posters here tend to stay mostly in this forum.

Good luck in your weight loss endeavors!! :goodvibes

We are aware and most of us have been WISH members at some point in time. The people on this thread all have a common interest in Disney design and are part of the "DDA". We are all addicted and post regularly on the main thread. This weight loss thread is just another common interest we share and are supporting each other. Thank you for your invitation to join the "official" forum, but we have all bonded here for now. If you would like to join us, you are welcome to do so.

I won't get to go to my normal weigh-in WW meeting tomorrow night because of having to work late. I will go on Wednesday after work instead.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
I have had a bad day today & been a grouch :crazy2:. Felt hungry all day, but have kept my eating in check for the most part. Hopefully I will have a better attitude tomorrow.
