Well Nicholas still has his annoying cough, but now he has a fever of 101.5. Guess I need to figure out if I should take him to the doctor. I'm thinking it is viral but who knows.

I'm sorry he's not feeling well. Sending PD to him.

Am I the only mean mother that makes their kids do schoolwork during summer vacation? I got them the Summer Bridge books and they have to do one page a day. Plus read a little daily. Alyssa loves to do her workbook, but Nicholas is another story.
No -- I win that. I put them in summer school. The school suggests it so they don't lose what they learned, as children with learning differences work so hard to learn it in the first place.

Mom just called. She had to go in today for a recheck on her blood pressure. They had her on meds for it for the past year or so because it was high, but it had dropped down so low they told her to stop the meds. It still sounds horribly low to me, but they told her it is OK. :confused3 She said she feels a lot better since she stopped the blood pressure meds. They also told her to stop the Arimidex while she is on chemo.

She goes Monday for her heart scan, Tuesday to have her port put in, Wednesday she calls for test results from the heart scan, and Thursday she goes for chemo if her heart scan is OK and her bloodwork on Thursday AM is OK. So lots of good thoughts are needed next week if anyone has some spare ones.
Sending lots of PD!

Janet -- sorry Riley's team lost. Enjoy the break for a few days!

The boys lost tonight -- run-ruled, so we're home early. We play tomorrow at 11. Andrew did get to play a little more tonight.

Have a good night everyone!

Ill try to check in in the morning, but if not, see you next week!

Good Morning DDA,

I think I'm back online now, I hate to "type" it out loud though, it might just go out on me again.

I see I've missed quite a few Birthdays,

Happy Belated Birthday to,

Matty
Katie
Elin
Theresa

Hope you all had wonderful days!

Lot's of PD headed out also :wizard:

Elizabeth - for Mom

Tom - for Mom

Tammi - for Nicholas

Theresa - for you

Robyn - hope your family is feeling better

Kristine - hope you're feeling better

Bernadette - for DH

Jen - have a wonderful trip

Deb - sounds like you're having a good trip, sorry service isn't up to par this trip

Steffy - I've had several goldfish take a porcelain ride to sea, the fish were probably ill when you got them.

We're headed to the water park today, so I'm gonna make a run to the grocery store to get some snacks to bring along. We're also going to leave for lunch this time, I refuse to pay outrageous prices for bad food from rude employees again. It's just teenagers that work there and they are horrible!

For some reason I can't see any of the pictures that were posted this morning, hopefully I will be able to see them later.

Have a great day!

You and your Mom have them.

Anyone have an easy dessert recipe? or have a link to Glynis's recipes? Big family cookout on the 19th, asked to bring a covered dish, but I am going to bring a dessert too.

And guess what? I am refusing to do my deviled eggs, but they don't know it yet. ;) Talked my sister into doing them and I am taking crab/cheese stuffed mushrooms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crab Stuffed Mushroom En Croute
(courtesy Paula Dean)

1/2 cup herb flavored cheese (recommended: Boursin)
1/2 cup finely minced crabmeat (may use imitation)
18 uniform sized mushrooms, stem removed
1 box phyllo pastry (will need at least 18 sheets)
1/3 cup butter, melted
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Combine cheese and crab in a small bowl. Divide crab mixture among the upside-down mushroom caps, stuffing the mushrooms. Carefully lay 6 sheets of phyllo dough on top of one another, brushing every other sheet with melted butter. Cut phyllo lengthwise down the center and then cut each half into 3 pieces to make 6 rectangles. Place a mushroom, cheese side up, in the center of each square. Season with salt and pepper. Lift sides of pastry over mushrooms to resemble small bundles and form a "neck," pinching edges together to seal. Repeat the entire procedure 2 more times.

Place on a greased baking sheet and brush with beaten egg. Bake for about 15 minutes until pastry is crisp and golden. Serve hot.

Those sound yummy, Heidi! Good for you for breaking out of the "Deviled Egg Rut." :rotfl:

We just got back from DQ. Apparently Alyssa decided that she needed to go "celebrate" losing her first tooth.

And apparently her big brother and her Mom agreed! ;)

I had a great time! I already knew a lot of the stuff taught in the training. I enjoyed getting to meet Girl Scout employees from all over that were so enthusiastic and we all were working toward the same mission. It was eye- opening to see how similar but different our unique councils are.

There were people from Alaska, California, Utah, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey to name a few places. I think I gained 5 pounds as they basically feed you every 2-3 hours and the food was yummy.

Sounds like you did have a great time, Becky! :yay:

Is it normal for you not to know your cabin number when you cruise? I don't think I would like that either.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of Matty's birthday wishes! :goodvibes

We're having a big party for him in August, but we still celebrated his official birthday on Monday.

Here's the cake I made him:

The cake is wonderful, Amy. And I love the picture of you all singing Happy Birthday to Matty. You all look so happy! :goodvibes

Amy - Thanks for sharing all the pictures with us. Noah looks like he belongs with your family. I hope that one day (when you or Kevin have the time) you would post pictures of all three kids when they were "newish" because I bet it is hard to tell them apart!

The pictures of Alyssa and Matty holding Noah are priceless.

Happy Birthday! Feel better! Have a Great trip! Hope things improve! Sending good thoughts your way. Stop worrying things will work out the way they are meant to be.

I did end up going into NYC the one night. It reminded me how much I love the city but I basically only got to sight see and not do much. I was the only one in my group that had ever been to New York City before. I need to take a trip and do stuff in the city. I have been there many, many, many times but have never stayed overnight there.

I still do not know my cabin number for the cruise. I have a little over a month before my trip. I can not believe it is the middle of July already. I gotta start getting cruise stuff together.

I think I am gonna head to bed as I am tired. I gotta put sheets on it first as the clean sheets did not make it on before I left.
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!
