DDA Chapter 9

It could mean that you have a kidney stone on the move. A bladder infection, or a more serious UTI. Don't put off getting it checked. If I lived closer I'd go with you! Get it checked!

Thanks, Glynis! I'll pretend that you are there.

I'm glad that the nurse and the doctor feel that there is not much to worry about with Peanut. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Waiting that long will be hard. Your ultrasound was originally scheduled for when were going to be in Yellowstone. Now we'll be home from WDW by the time you get to find out. I've been thinking blue so hard that I dreamed about you having a boy last night.

Glynis - Ah! I see that you posted the answer as I was posting the question! I am so happy that they don't feel there is anything to be overly concerned about! I was doing a little research, and I think your risk is actually LOWER than average for a 41 year old woman.
August 25 seems like a long time to have to wait, but as you have seen with my mom's tests, I want everything NOW NOW NOW! :rotfl:

I wouldn't mind having the ultrasound NOW, but I am kind of relieved that the doctor's don't think it's urgent enough to warrant a NOW, NOW, NOW! reaction. So, I'm going to be happy with that!

We are leaving for camping at a lake tomorrow morning. Don't know if I'll be back on until Sunday. This should be an interesting experience. Alan has told me I won't have to lift a finger on this camp. We'll see. I'm packing 5 books to read on the beach, and I've got the food boxes crammed with healthy snacks, and food the kids can prepare themselves. Alan will be in charge of setting up camp and cooking all dinners. I've got to remember to take the camera!!!

I'm kind of a NOW, NOW, NOW person myself, Elizabeth. :rotfl:

By the way, we are no longer staying in Topeka. We decided to add a little to the drive that day so that the next would be shorter. We'll now be in Salina, KS instead.

Matthew saw something about a drive-in called Bobo's in Topeka on Diners, Dives, and Drive-ins. Know anything about it or what kind of area it is in?

yay for blue dreams!!! I've been trying to picture this child as a girl, but I just can't! I just have a feeling he will be a boy! I hope it's not just wishful thinking. Of course, we'll love a girl, too, but a boy would be super!

At least you won't have to call Theresa for the results! I'll be posting as soon as I can! Of course, we're still planning on taking the kids to the ultrasound. They have had 2 cousins with Down's syndrome, and we explained to them that there's a slight chance that our baby will have it. They all want to be at the ultrasound, so I'm guessing that afterwards, we'll go out to celebrate either gender and a clean slate from the doctor (how's that for positive thinking?).

That sounds great! I certainly don't have any history of correctly choosing gender, and it's probably because I've been thinking about a boy for you. But you definitely had an absolutely adorable little boy in my dreams last night.

I'm off to watch The Secret Life of the American Teenager with my older two.

Have a good night, DDA!!!

Nice pictures!!!!

Hello, all! I haven't had a chance to go back and read yet. Last week I spent 95% of my waking hours at the Synchronized Swimming Age Group Nationals meet. It was terrific but exhausting.

Any of the nurses here have any clues what blood in my urine may mean? I have had a couple of UTIs recently that I've gone to the walk-in for. At the last one, they requested that I get a re-check post antibiotic with my regular doctor's office. I did that last week, and they just called today. They want me in for an office visit, since I had "a large quantity" of blood in my urine (and it wasn't TOM when I went in)! I am freaking out! I don't do doctors very well. Not only that, I haven't been in for several years, and I have gained (literally) a hundred pounds since I last saw him. This is going to be so awful. I have to will myself not to cancel this appointment. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
Go to the Doctor!!!!!!!!!!! Your weight should not deter you from going no matter what!!! Sounds like what everyone has already said..a UTI or bladder infection.

I so appreciate everybody's comments...here and in pm's. I wish I could say I was doing fine...but I am not...life just (excuse my language, please) sucks sometimes and this is one of those times for me. The part that bugs me the worst is I've done as much as I can to rectify the situation but it's not up to me anymore.
Hope things go more smoothly for you.

Tammi - Cute pics!

For some reason DS was running around in his underwear and a wizard hat over the weekend (like this :wizard: ). It would have served him right to have a pic of it posted on the boards, but I didn't take any pics. :rolleyes1
 :lmao:

Glynis,
Enjoy camping & I agree, if it was something they were very concerned about they would have you come in earlier.

Jen,
Enjoy your trip!

The beach was beautiful today. There were 10 kids total (cousins & a friends kids) & everyone had someone to play with. The undertoe was very rough though & the waves were so high people were surfing. My kids were boogie boarding & they were getting flipped all over the place but they loved riding the waves.

Poor Sophie got a bad burn on her legs but I slathered her in Banana Boat 50 & she still got burned. I am annoyed because I just bought 5 bottles on sale at Target but apparantly it doesn't work that well.

The kids are playing Wii now so Mommy gets some time to DIS!

Playing around with photoshop. I just did this like 20 minutes ago:

...and went to do it again with another picture and of course, I don't remember how to do it.

Marci - Is your A/C broken? I hope they can get it taken care of quickly! :wizard:

It leaked from the ceiling in to the study, ruining a Disney lithograph and trashing the ceiling. Thankfully, Randy figured out that the drain pan wasn't in the right place, so he fixed it so it wouldn't cause more damage, then they blew out the clogged line today and adjusted everything.

Very cute pics! Thanks for sharing them.

After my aunt died from not going to the doctor, my logical mind agrees with you. Unfortunately, I have a lot of illogical thoughts. ;) I promise I will go. I wouldn't mind a little pixie dust that I get through it all ok.

Here's lots of PD! Go to the doctor. You need to get checked before you start feeling bad. Maybe it will be more motivation to a healthier lifestyle. :wizard:

So, I got a call at 9:30 this morning from my doctor's office. It was the nurse (who I just love). She said, "I have been thinking about you all night. I came in early to the office to look at the test results again, and found Dr. Smith doing the same thing. She agrees with the high risk doctor that the level is not high enough to cause you any concern. The fact that you are over 40 and pregnant is enough to push your numbers that high. You are not to lose any sleep over it!" So, the earliest I can get to the high risk doctor is the 25th of August (guess there's not much cause for concern or they'd get me in sooner, right?). They cancelled my ultrasound on the 22nd, and I'll just go to the one on the 25th with the high risk people.

I'm just going to put it out of my mind and go on about my business. With all the prayers I felt from all of you last night, I had a really peaceful night, with dreams about a healthy baby (no gender revelation, though), so I'm going to go with that!

It sounds like better news. Have a great time camping!

Theresa -- sending more PD!

I dvr'ed it and am going to watch it later

Good luck at the doctor. They'll fix you right up, so do go!

Tia, would we be better doing the Arch on a Friday evening or Saturday morning? What time each day would be better? We'd be coming in on 64 from the east. Also, should I buy the tickets on-line before we go or buy them when we get there?

Thanks!
Beth

For those days I would definitely do them in advance. There are pros and cons to both. The daytime would have a nice bright view, but the evening (depending on how late) might have a nice lit up view. Traffic coming in on Friday might be a little hectic depending on where you'll be before hand, but should be pretty easy on Saturday. Big help, aren't I?!?! Either way should be fine so I'd go with what fits your schedule best. But I'd definitely order in advance for Fri night and it would just make Sat easier. Otherwise you risk getting a later tram time and messing up other plans.

Do you think you might have time to meet up in there anywhere?
