These sound like the porcupine balls I make, except I use rice instead of bread crumbs.

Now that's something I never heard of. Why are they called porcupine balls? Because of the rice texture?

Your grandmother's recipe must yield A LOT of meatballs with 4 pounds of meat! :)

My grandmother used to make porcupine balls.

I think that I'd go nuts rolling 4 pounds of meat into meatballs! Of course, I make my meatballs really small.

::yes:: & ::yes::

So does mil, but they are great for freezing :thumbsup2 Of course she never has to do this, she always invites family over & we all take of them for her :rotfl:

Robyn, that cake is amazing!!!

Your weekend sounds awesome. What great pictures of the kiddos, especially Lucy smiling in the sand.

9 beers?!! I can't remember the last time I had a taste of alcohol. Someone on the WFD thread posted a picture of her pitcher of sangria and I was salivating! :teeth:

You know, I saw these alcohol detector strips for breast milk at BRU the other day... there are some advantages to pumping only :rolleyes1 :rotfl: I'm dying to have a bottle of Bud Light Lime :teeth:

Thanks! :goodvibes

The closet is done. :thumbsup2

Besides, the most important thing to take to the hospital is the camera. And my make-up bag...which is packed. ;)

Thank you! I caught so much grief for this. 4 days without makeup... and when cameras and visitors are everywhere?! I'm not sure what they expected me to do!

Seriously though, pack your back soon so that it might hold off Noah's arrival.... at least until Thursday or so ;)

I'm not sure what's on my agenda today. I had thought that I would go out and start trimming the lawn around the house, but it has been raining buckets so that isn't looking hopeful. I may just bit the bullet and get the kids rooms dusted, vacuumed and mopped. I guess it won't make a huge difference if I do it today or Wednesday. Everything will be dusty again by the time we come home anyway. I don't expect our pet sitter to clean :rotfl2: Chris faxed our site request to Fort wilderness this morning so hopefully they will be able to meet our requests. If not we will just make the best of what we get.

Seriously bad timing, ladies! :rotfl: Last night, for the first time post-partum, I had a taste of the potential hormone drama to come. Thankfully, it wasn't rage or insanity... but I cried my eyes out that the first week has gone by so quickly. Then all this talk about years going by just as fast? .... aack! I'm in trouble....

You guys are cracking me up with the alcohol consumption talk..... although I'm thinking I should be more embarrassed than anything. I am not a big drinker (as far as how often I drink. Since college, it is pretty rare except maybe a glass of wine here or there), and I can still "put back" quite a few without ill-effects. Of course, I'm sure that won't last long now, since "pretty rare" might have turned into "almost never" about a week ago ;)

If you have an IKEA nearby, just get their sweedish meatball stuff. Add cream (maybe one other thing) to a package, throw it on top of their cooked meatballs, enjoy! They are fabulous, and I'm not usually a huge fan! Either way, it beats actually making the meatballs! :teeth:

:rotfl:
I can't believe your trip is almost here! :yay:

porcupine meatballs are the only thing I have ever goofed up so much in cooking that we HAD to go out to eat. :rotfl:

Love the cake and the photos!
HOLY COW! I have NEVER consumed 9 alcoholic beverages in one night in my LIFE! :scared1: I haven't been falling down drunk since before I was pregnant with DS. Now my max is 2 drinks. More than that and my face starts to go numb! Remind me not to challenge you in any drinking games!

We played Phase 10 so there wasn't even the challenge of having to drink.;) And surprisingly I wasn't falling down!! I honestly didn't feel bad until the next morning.

Robyn nice pictures, glad you had a good time.

Thank you!

Yeah and I am wide awake. Sometimes I go through bouts of not being tired at all. :confused3 I could see it if I took a nap, but I didn't.

Hope you got some sleep!

Good morning. :)

It's back to the working life for me for the next 3 days. I have a project going on that I committed to and can't get out of. :headache: I did try though!

:wizard: that these 3 days fly by!

Good Morning!

Great pictures Robyn!

Thank you!!

I have that model, and you do have a voice choice. If you have the American "she", it's Jill. I'm trying to remember where the voice choices are...I can go get mine and play with it if you haven't found your other voices yet.

We fooled around with all the voices this trip. I think we decided that we like Karen the best. She is the Australian. Jill sounded just like a computer voice.

Good morning DDA! :wave2:

Alyssa woke up at 6:30 a.m. :headache: but hopefully that means a nap is a sure thing today!

Thanks for adding to my list of things to do, Robyn. :teeth:

Hope you all have a great day! :)

You're welcome.

Robyn, FANTASTIC pictures!

Thank you!!

That is too much!

I don't see anything wrong with it. I mean you do want to look somewhat human even if you don't necessarily feel that way.

:wizard: for the camping site.

I haven't played with the voices in a while. Daniel is my man. He is British. I also liked Lee (Australian male). We had the French lady on while driving around town, but I couldn't catch much more than "a droit" and "a gauche", so she wasn't much help to me.

Your cake was terrific, and I loved your pictures.

My day is not off to a good start.

I slept in Diva's bed, which is pretty comfy. Or it was comfy while I was IN it. Once I was OUT I realized my back is utterly destroyed. I am having the back spasms that make my knees collapse. But I figured I would deal with it.

We ran out of milk and half & half yesterday, but since nobody even got dressed yesterday we didn't go buy more. I am hugely addicted to coffee and I can NOT function without it. So I am grouchy, foggy-brained, and my knees keep collapsing.

Mom announced that she was sick. Her temp is 101.5 again. She called the doctor, and they said they want to see her at noon. But FIRST she needs to take some OTC meds. She doesn't have any here, so I have to go get them. Alone. In the death-trap car. Luckily I was showered by then.

I got in the car and called DH. I was dang near crying, which is NOT like me, but the situation seemed to warrant it. The second he picked up the phone I realized I never printed my boarding pass for my flight tonight.:headache: Let's just pile that on top of everything else!

I made it to Target. They don't carry half and half. Stupid Kansas. I bought a bottle of Frappucino and some flavored chemical crap. I managed to find my way back to Mom's, which must prove there is some sort of higher power at work somewhere in the universe.

I gave Mom her meds, I took 1200 mg. of ibuprofen (which hopefully won't blow out my liver), and I printed my boarding pass. Now I need to make coffee because my Frappucino is empty.

I want to go home. :(
