What a neat slideshow! No picture of YOU though! ;)

nope... I haven't perfected the art of the self-portrait yet. Tammi took some photos so I know I am in at least one of those. She will share later, I am sure.

Amy - Your kids' faces just make me grin! They have infectious smiles (just like their parents ;))

Jennifer - Poor Kyle. I know how he feels and thought sleeping for more than a few hours at a time would never come. But it does. And you do survive. Hopefully his postpartum blues will improve soon (along with the reduction of fluid in your legs  )

Good Morning,

Amy - Love the pics, you know my birthday is Friday, I wouldn't mind sharing with Noah!

Elizabeth - Sorry Diva girl is showing her true colors

Jen - PD :wizard: for Kyle, enjoy your first family walk

Bernadette - Congrats on the weight loss, 5/6 pounds is a fantastic start!

I've got to get myself motivated to get some things done around here, starting with a trip to the grocery store, yuck. Then the neve ending pile of laundry needs to be tackled. The house needs to be cleaned, and the back yard needs to be mowed. Somewhere int eh mix I would like to go through my two closets and organize them, into clothes that fit, clothes that don't, and throw out what will never do, we'll see how much of this list I get done, especially with Brandon spending the afternoon with me.

Bob forgot we are going on vacation this week... :faint:

He has a "field trip" at a jobsite scheduled on Thursday morning. It is 7 miles from our Park 'n' Fly hotel at BWI. He planned to drive to his office (35 miles west of here) then drive to Baltimore (about 90 miles northeast from his work and 80 miles northeast of here) then return to work and drive home that night. I told him he would have to turn around and make the trip back to Baltimore when he got home. He looked at me like this:

So, resourceful Elin came up with a plan... he can go into work and to his field meeting and stay up there. I teach until 12:30 on Thursday and Kristin and I will jump in the car and drive to Anne Arundel Mills mall to pick him up. Then we can check into our hotel earlier than we thought and relax a bit. Another upside to this is that we will miss a lot of the DC/Baltimore I-95 corridor traffic too! :thumbsup2

Elin said it so perfectly ladies.

Elizabeth-teenagers are an odd creature and some of the ones I have dealt with are very self-centered....even the ones who have wonderful hearts have moments of self-centeredness and boneheadedness. Please, please take the next advice in the love I am writing it: Help your mom deal this weekend in a proper way and continue to be the awesome role model you are (but also remember she is your sister not one of your charges...and your mom isn't looking for your advice and expertise).

Poor Bob!! but isn't he lucky to be married to such a quick thinker??;)

Elizabeth - I agree that Diva needs a wake-up call. And I know just the sister who can give it to her. Hang in there.

Thanks! I was FURIOUS at her when she came in, so she got quite the blasting. Her defense seems to be that there are other people who do worse things than she does, so her behavior is perfectly acceptable. I told her flat out that if Mom doesn't get better she will be my responsibility and she will NOT like living by my rules. Her perception of things (ESPECIALLY money) is so skewed I don't think it can ever be fixed. She goes on and on about "needing" a Civic for $9000. Hello? Mom's medical bills are staggering. They don't have $9000. Plus insurance. Plus gas at $4 a gallon. She was saying she'll get a job and buy her own car. Um, not if she's bringing home a whopping $70 a week! If she got a job tomorrow and saved every cent she might have $3500 next summer. Not $9000. She thinks when she turns 18 that her Social Security check will belong exclusively to her, to spend as she pleases, until she graduates from high school and the checks stop. Mom uses that money to pay their RENT! I told Diva that. She says Mom needs to work more! :scared1: I think I would hand her the check and tell her not to let the door hit her when she left, because she SURE wouldn't be living with me anymore. If Diva wants her SS money then Mom shouldn't have to foot the bill for Diva's living expenses!
Diva told me I am too judgmental about our father and Ms. Selfish. Oh, really? Because I see them realistically? Whatever. I was up until 3 AM TRYING to get her to understand some very BASIC truths but of course it didn't do any good. :rolleyes1

Thank you, Elin, for such a quotable post! :goodvibes

Elizabeth - Glad you made it safely and that Mom is doing well. I hope the labs came back okay and that she has a good weekend. :wizard: for surviving the time with DivaGirl.

Karen - Your dad will continue to be in my prayers for his surgery.

Jennifer - When you get a chance, PM me your plans and I'll see if we overlap anywhere. Ours haven't changed much over what they were the week before as the TGM advice was similar and the way I needed this to work, this was best.

Deb - Since you'll leave before I get back, have an absolutely wonderful trip!!!!

Jennifer - I'm glad that your first day home was a good one. Enjoy it and catch up with us later, we understand!! :goodvibes Lots of prayers for you all, but especially Kyle, as you continue to adjust to your new life. I hope that your legs are doing better soon as well.

Anne Marie - Great pics of Sophie! Good luck for all of the recitals this weekend.

Denise - Hope the boys have a good party today! Sorry to hear that you definitely need surgery, but hopefully that will help you more permanently. :grouphug:

Tom - Glad you had a good time at Cedar Point. I really need to take Terra to one of those parks sometime. Maybe Knott's when we're in CA next. As big of a Snoopy fan as she is, I think it's a must.

Janet - Glad the boil order is lifted!

Debbie - Way to go on the gym! You are doing great. My boss offered on Thurs to add me to her gym membership and to pay for it if I was interested. Umm...yeah! It's the same gym I've been considering joining when they open the one close to me. There are several close to her house and soon to be one here so I'm in.

Tammi - Hope the poison ivy isn't too bad! If the coritsone isn't helping much, consider calling the dr on Monday. Cortisone doesn't often help much with poison ivy. I learned that the hard way as mine last year dragged on for weeks with little relief from the cream.

Well, I've got to get ready to go. We've got to finish packing, shower and load the car. A couple of errands to make sure Dad and Phil have the food they need next week, a quick jaunt to the library for some reading material for the week and we'll be off! Yippee!!!! I'd love to find out there is a computer I can access there, but I don't think that's the case. If not, I'll catch you all next Sunday! Have a great week!!

Theresa, sometimes you are wise beyond your years. That was well thought out and well said. (But I still think Diva needs some maturity and a reminder that she is not the only one dealing with all this right now.)

Good job at quick thinking Elin, I can honestly say that I've never forgotten vacation, lots of other things but never vacation.

Today is our 45 day mark :cool1:

Yay! :cool1: I think it is 41 for us.

Elin said it so perfectly ladies.

I know. Easier said than done. If the debris wasn't going to land squarely in MY lap I would be more inclined to let them self-destruct without my intervention.

His excuse is that I "plan them so perfectly he never has to give them a thought."

He is full of it today. :rotfl2:
