We had an absolutely wonderful weekend. We finally left here about 5:30pm on Friday after a ton of drama. One of the boys, the little one, woke up from his nap with a fever of 104.5

I have never in my life had a kid have a fever that high. I called his dad, who then told me "Oh I'll call his mom and have her get a dr appt for him" He then hung up so I had no idea whether or not he was coming over here like he should be. Then Hayden proceeded to throw up. So as I am trying to clean him up and cool him down the other kids are going bonkers as they were awaiting snacks and drinks. It was now about a half hour later and still no dad, they live 2 streets over so he should have been in here in less than 10 minutes. I called the house and got no answer.

Eric called grandma and amazingly 10 minutes later dad shows up. He really had no intention of coming to get his child because mom ended up here about 40 minutes later to pick the boys up, dad never called to let her know he got them. It was extremely infuriating.
But anyhow, after the kids (all of them were gone by 3:45) left I ran around here and packed. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute! I'm sure Elizabeth would be so proud

We finally headed out by 5:15pm. We had to deliver the cake.
We made a quick stop at the liquor store for some
We were officially on the road by about 5:40 and made it to the lake by 9:40. We had to stop for a bit, as Miss Lucy was a bit cranky and needed to stretch. The ride there was fine until we were about an hour away from the resort. Our route became a 2 lane winding road through the mountains in the middle of nowhere in the dark. I was doing the driving as Eric was working on homework. I don't do well at night in familiar surroundings so it was a bit intimidating but we made it safe and sound.
Once we were unpacked and in pj's we settled in. The kids all camped out in the living room.
Us adults got comfy for what would be a long night of cards and beer. I must have in the long harrowing call ride forgotten that I was 1) extremely tired, and 2) not young anymore. 9 beers, a 4am bedtime and a 7am wake up call makes for a not so pretty picture the next morning! It was an experience I look forward to never repeating again in the rest of my life.
The kids headed out to leave corn for the deers.
After we ate breakfast we hung out for a bit and then the kids wanted to hit the lake/beach to swim and play. Getting 14 people packed and out the door is a not an easy task but we managed. We spent an about 2 hours at the lake.
And Lucy loved the sand, much to my surprise!!
Here is the view from the beach area
After swimming we came back to the house and just hung out. We played some more cards, no beer this time. The kids then wanted to go to the playground so my one girlfriend and I took the 7 older ones.
They played for about an hour before we headed back for dinner. After dinner we got the kids settled in and they watched Camp Rock while us adults played cards some more. We were also attacked by bugs, the amount of them that found their way in was amazing. We had to be quite the scene swatting bugs away as we played.
This morning we woke up, packed up, cleaned up the house and got everyone fed before we hit the road at 11am. We enjoyed ourselves so much. The 2 other couples that we went with are my best friends from before we all had kids. We used to get together all the time but since the kids have came we see each other on birthdays and around Christmas. We have always wanted to get together to just hang out but trying to fit it into our crazy schedules has proven very difficult. It was just like old times which is a good feeling.
