Well that doesn't mean you had to leave us

Glad to see you posting!

I have been busy!
The Disboutiquer thread was getting a little "catty" for a bit, so I decided to take a break from the Dis for a little while!

Thanks to Elin's E-card I decided to pop back on.

I really do miss everyone!

So what dates would this be :yay:

Kristin told me last night that she would love to go to WDW for her birthday in August. I could do it for $1000 plus food. Now, if only I could figure out how to come up with an additional $1000 during the time of year I barely get a paycheck...

In theory all the units are identical, but the reality is that walls move or shift a bit due to the building settling. Things that appear square really aren't. They need exact measurements in order to cut the counter tops true to the room they are going into. Those measurements will save you a lot of headaches on installation day. Just hope they measure accurately

I knew I could count on you to explain this. I was going to reply to Elizabeth's post but decided to see if someone else did first. It is amazing how "non-square" rooms really are. A good carpenter can hide all the imperfections but they are there none the less.

I think you'll be fine in August at Disney..but you can't tour like you do in good weather. (we still do but most "normal" people do not:bitelip: , they take breaks or stay out of the park for part of the day). We go full blast from open to close & every trip I swear we wont do that but then we do anyway.

Chuck and I noticed that people were moving a lot slower in the June heat (including all of us) than they did on previous trips.

We would be there from August 1-4. I agree that life is short and the kids grew up and some things are not about money. But the money has to be there, you know! If (and this is a big if) airfare stays the same and if a windfall comes into my life, you can bet we will be at WDW in August.

Bummer I would miss you :( I do hope you can work it out though!

Deb, you look fantastic! (I haven't gone back anywhere, sorry, but saw a picture quoted).

Please, when I get back, let me know what I've missed since I feel like I have no idea what is going on anywhere outside of my own house, let alone all around the DDA! :rotfl:

We'll be leaving by 5 at the latest tomorrow, so I won't check in then... but I have given Amy permission to post anything I send her way (or anything she finds searching on the internet, if she so chooses to hunt me down should I be too slow ;)).

Take care! :goodvibes

This is the family that he has been living with for 2 YEARS since he left here. So my kids are used to them. They have a boy a few years older than Nicholas, so he likes that. Alyssa is sorta left hanging though. XH works with the dad. I don't know how they can handle having someone live with them for so long. I could understand a month or 2 until he got on his feet, but come on! But again, XH NEEDS someone to hold his hand and do things for him. Prime example....the other day when they were forecasting bad storms, he leaves me a message asking if I've heard if Nicholas' baseball practice was canceled. I texted him and said they don't notify me, here's the cancelation number. I'm not responsible for feeding him info anymore. If he wants to know what is going on he needs to be proactive and find things out. See....you got me started. I could go on all day. Sorry for the rant.

He probably wouldn't fly off the handle, but I'm sure his eyeballs would roll. :rolleyes2

Wow, that must be some friend.

Dana says $100 for the gift..I say $50! Maybe we'll go with $75.;)

Wow! You are very generous. For cousins, I give between $20-$25. For my nieces and nephews we give $100. I don't think of the number of people in the family as far as the gift amount either. I would think the bigger the family the smaller the gift because you have less expendable income.

Jennifer we will all be anxiously waiting! I am so happy for you & Kyle & cannot wait to see your beautiful girls :goodvibes

Hmmmm..... the possibility of a room discount, previews of new shows, specialty pins, lunch discounts at some restaurants, the opportunity to purchase Disney Dining Experience for a reduced rate... How is that for starters?

10% discounts at certain stores as well.

Back on land...

I updated the TR...I will be back on later...off to dinner

Boys are going to ESPN Zone

Girls to Spoodles

Elizabeth, I got the Annual Pass 2nd pin in the series. I'll get them sent this week (well, I'll tell Chuck they have to be sent so they get sent this week :lmao: ).

Thanks so much! Let me know how much I owe you! :)

I'll be there August 1-4. :rolleyes1 I wouldn't count on airfare staying the same. You should probably go ahead and book it NOW, then you will be forced to find a way to make the rest of it work. ;) I did get a DING today for the end of August - $227 round trip! I can't use it, but it is out there!

Good luck, Jennifer!! :wizard:

Hi, Kristine! Can't wait to hear about Spoodles! I am waffling about cancelling our dinner ADR there.

Well if you find that bucket let me know, I could use some myself :rotfl:

Oh, well, if Elin is going to SHARE...:bitelip:

Deb your home looks wonderful, great job!
Love the new floor! And your hair (and you!!) look awesome!
Karen-thanks for the check!

Vicki-thanks for the check!

Janet-thanks for sending Elizabeth the check!
That reminds me - I still have to get a check out to you!
I got up and got the lawn mowed before we have any thunderstorms this afternoon. Now I need to spend some time at the studio to finish getting ready for summer session which starts on Monday. Where, oh where, did my 2 week break go?!?!? :(

Let's see what I can remember... If I missed anyone I am sure I will figure it out over the next few hours. ;)

Deb - the house looks amazing!

Robyn - I am telling you, woman... you need to do cakes for a living!

Lindsay - I am glad you had good luck with your ADRs. I have not given one minute of time planning our December trip. I think it has not sunk in yet that we will go! I am also uninspired by the CP narrator schedule. I guess we will probably miss it again this year.

Jen - for you... seeing students grow up and leave the nest when they are that young is tough. I have my fingers crossed that one of your teaching prospects for next year comes through very soon!

Debbie - I am sorry that you won't get to see the Osborne Lights. It is one of my favorite holiday experiences at WDW too. Staring at the beautiful castle is something I am looking forward to also. I was sorry to have missed it last year.

Anne Marie - Yay for Daniel and his new-found love of school. All your hard work and sacrifices were well worth it, weren't they?

Elizabeth - It sounds as if Princess is well on her way to being potty trained. I am sure her parents are much appreciative!

Amy - Your BIL is to be commended! Enjoy the celebration.
Ditto!

I don't know if I'm more anxious for July for the birth of my son or the death of the cicadas! :rotfl:

Have fun at Cedar Point! Cedar Point will always be my favorite park, since I grew up on Lake Erie. They do have three kids' areas now, and even though Leighanna isn't tall enough for the real Gemini, hopefully the Jr. Gemini and the Snoopy Rollercoaster will keep her satisfied. Eat some Elephant Ears for me, please! :)
...and a waffle ice cream sandwich on the main drag for me, please!

What about the train? ;)
My sister called and told me that they had separated her, mom and the kids on the flight. They were all in totally different places on the plane. I don't know what happened as our resident travel agent helped me get seats for them together. I haven't heard back from her but I told her to tell the flight attendant that she had been separated from her kids and they can usually get someone willing to volunteer to move so that they can be together. I sure hope that happened. I can't imagine my 7 year old niece and 10 year old nephew sitting separately on the plane. My girls wouldn't want to sit separately.
Did this get fixed?
We had no trouble with checking our extra bags at the resort. I called Baggs and they told me just to tell them that we bought our tickets in January (before the price increase) and if they had any issues to have them call Baggs. This worked when the girls left and when I left. I assume it worked for my sister and mom as well because I didn't hear otherwise.
That is GREAT news!!!

...I may have mentioned the train before, but I did notice a Ding! from BWI to MCO for end of July to end of August...;)
