I am working until noon tomorrow and then I am on vacation too!!!!! I'm taking off for the week, working the following week, and then taking off the next 3 weeks!!!! It's almost as exciting as leaving for WDW!!

That is exciting! :yay: :dance3: :yay:

Good luck with the bug extermination tomorrow, Deb!

I'm going to try to sleep. I still have lots to do tomorrow. Have a great night.

Good luck tomorrow Deb!

I wish I could exterminate the cicadas. They are flying around like crazy now, bombarding you as soon as you walk outside. Not fun! And, let me reiterate, they are loud. :headache:

I finally decided to dig out Matty's old clothes, and of course, all the old spit-up stains have reappeared. I wish I could afford just to buy Noah a new wardrobe, but there is so much cute stuff, it's worth salvaging. I guess I will be the Biz, Zout, Oxyclean Queen this weekend!

Goodnight all! :wave2:

we are on the cruise!!!!

internet is pretty slow...I updated the trip report...hope all is well!!

Good luck with the bugs, Deb. I hope they all are killed!

I hope the pest guy can get rid of the beetles! :wizard: Yuck!

Amy - Once upon a time Biz used to work wonders at getting those "reappearing stains" out of baby clothes, but it has been reformulated and I don't think it works that well anymore. They also used to sell liquid called "Mother's Little Miracle" that was great! It is just hard to find.

Kristine - Yay for cruising!!

Princess used her potty 3 times yesterday, so I am hoping that it has "clicked" with her. I figured once I could get her to go on the potty one time she would understand what I wanted her to do, so we'll see if she keeps it up today. We have play group with her preschool classmates this morning but we'll be home the rest of the day. DS is staying home with DH.

Tammi,
:cool1: for time off! Enjoy!!

Elizabeth,
:woohoo: for princess! Hope her fingers are better today.

Deb,
 Hope they bugs can be taken care of quickly!

Today is Daniel's lst day of school! No more getting up at 5:45am!!!

Have a great day everyone!:cutie:

I had forgotten that you do indeed pay for it. We have been bringing our own on-board.

I wish this was true. Unfortunately on Allegiant Air you get the whole can of soda but you pay for it. No food or drink is included.

Well, I heard on the news this morning that USAir will be charging $15 for the first checked bag and cutting flights. I'm too nervous to go check on our flights right now. We fly out of a tiny airport that doesn't have many flights to begin with.

Can anyone remind me of what I can do if my flights become unreasonable?

ETA: The checked bag fee won't apply, because at the moment it's for tickets purchased after July 9th. Pop will be $2/can, but we'll deal with that.

Whereever you found that Beth (hopefully on the US Airways website) please print it out and take it with you on your flight. :-) It'll make me feel better.

ETA: I finally found it on their site if you need the link!

I found it on their site, too, and at your suggestion printed it out. The $30-60 would not be a nice surprise, but it's a whole lot better than the reports of decrease flights. I'm trying to keep it all in perspective.

Dh also said that I need to check my driving route to make sure that it is still all there with all the flooding and damage in the mid-West. I feel so silly worrying about a trip when these people are worrying about their lives.

I was brave and checked my flights. Still the same for now. I could have had worse flights cheaper when I booked. I certainly don't want those worse flights for what I paid.

I have identified our pests they are Larder Beetles

The Adult

I called a local pest control place and they had an appointment available for tomorrow. I took it. Of course that meant completely changing my entire day today. I had to find someone to work for me tonight in order to get all of the required preparation done. I ended up babysitting for a coworker so that she could work for me. Thankfully her son was very easy and I was able to plug along the entire time he was here.

They require that everything in your cupboards/pantry be removed from the original packaging and placed in airtight resealable containers such as tupperware. This of course meant a trip to the store to stock up on more containers. I already had about 50% of our cupboards in airtight containers, but not absolutely everything. After purchasing the containers I had to completely clear the cupboards, place everything in the containers then try to fit things back into the cupboards. We did EVERY cupboard just to make sure no little guys were hiding and that we had gotten rid of every crumb etc. I only found on beetle in one drawer, but she had several tiny larvae crawling around near her. The weird thing was it was in the drawer that holds are baggies and wraps. Not a food drawer :confused3 I thought I did a good job removing all of them, but a couple of hours later I found more babies that must have been hiding in the cracks. My Mom came down and worked in Colby's room finishing hauling out the rest of the kitchen stuff and putting away stuff that he had dragged out during the rennovations. After she left I went in and put things where they belonged and vacuumed and mopped. Thankfully I didn't find any more critters, but the first 5 were more than enough.

Tomorrow I need to finish a few more things in the kitchen and get the rest of the kitchen stuff out of our room. I'm praying that I don't find any in there. Of course from what I've read they eat everything and anything and can fly as well as crawl so they could be anywhere from attic to cellar to in the walls. The exterminator cannot come soon enough. Oh after I called for the beetle problem ants started invading the living room through the slider. We have never had ants, but we never had an attached deck either. I'll have that addressed tomorrow too.

Wow -- that's a lot of work for the pest control people to come out, but it makes sense. I guess I should routinely do that as well since we have pasture land around us. I hope they get the beetles and the ants today. It seems that the carpenter ants I have are going away after the treatment last week. Now I just have regular ants that are being pesky.

we are on the cruise!!!!

internet is pretty slow...I updated the trip report...hope all is well!!

More PD for smooth sailing and a great day in Nassau.

I hope the pest guy can get rid of the beetles! :wizard: Yuck!

Hooray for Princess! That is terrific.

We are having a terrible time trying to get haircuts this week. The people we use are family friends. (The boys use the Dad whose wife passed a few weeks ago and his daughter is who does my hair and who I went to school with.) I was supposed to see her on Wednesday for trim and roots, then she rescheduled to Thursday because she wasn't feeling well, then her husband called from the hospital to say she had been admitted. My boys have haircut appts. with the Dad today, but when Randy called yesterday to confirm the time, he found out that the Dad is down in his back and has an ear infection. The next two people we knew to go to are on vacation, so we have an appt. with someone who I've heard good things about. I'm guess I'm a little worried because I'm superstitious and today is the 13th! I know that most of the illness problems for our friends (and hairdressers) are brought on by the stress of losing their wife/mom. I'm going to see if I can take some food to the Dad today.

I have to pick the boys up from soccer camp, get them to haircuts, then to the pizza party for Andrew's soccer team. I took the easy way out (the coach called me asking me to plan the party but I have no time) so I called the Pizza Hut and set everything up. (remember, we really don't have many options in our small town) Andrew has a baseball game at 8 in the morning, so we'll leave the house around 6 or so in the morning, then he has another game at 12. I'm hoping his confidence is still up from the end of season rec games. I'd rather the games be early, as I have a ton of work and packing to do.

Sending PD to everyone who needs it. Have a great day everyone! :duck:

Marci - I hope your hairdressers are feeling better soon! :wizard: I adore Landon, but scheduling with him can get tricky since he is only here about 10 days out of each month. DS is without a designated hairdresser right now, but the lady at Sport Clips did a decent job.
Good luck with baseball this weekend!
