DDA Chapter 8

I ordered our annual passes today, DH is already trying to figure out how many trips we can "sneak" in. We'll see how the drive goes in August, we'll be taking his truck but if we take my car we will get much better gas mileage.

So what are some of the extra benefits of being a pass holder?

I just talked to my mom. She scheduled an appt. to have 4 teeth extracted on Monday. I asked her if she talked to the surgeon about that, because that's only a week before her cancer surgery. If she has to take antibiotics for the teeth that might be a problem, OR if the teeth get infected she is NOT going to be able to have her breast surgery! :scared1: She hadn't thought of that. She said she will talk to the oral surgeon and then ask the breast surgeon if it is OK to have the teeth pulled. She has needed extensive dental work for a long time but she kept putting it off. Now she's afraid the teeth will get infected if she doesn't have them taken care of. If she gets an infection in her mouth while she is undergoing chemo I imagine that will be very, very bad. So I guess we'll see what they tell her.
I know I had to take antibiotics when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, but DH had one pulled not too long ago and I don't think he had antibiotics. :confused3

DD didn't have antibiotics when we had her wisdom teeth pulled either, but it definitely won't hurt to ask. I need to go to the dentist but I have to admit that I am petrified! Which is why I've lost three teeth, I put it off until I can't take it any more, you think I would learn. :confused3

Hmmmm..... the possibility of a room discount, previews of new shows, specialty pins, lunch discounts at some restaurants, the opportunity to purchase Disney Dining Experience for a reduced rate... How is that for starters?

OK - off to the movies! Enjoy your evenings, everyone!

Tammi- Glad Nicholas' game was canceled.

Mo's was not but we played for a half hour and then called the game. It was HOT! My sister and I took the girls out to Friendly's after the game. It was free ice cream cone day.

My van read 107. Yikes!

I have a happy ending to report! The little girl was invited to a pool party yesterday. When she showed up at the friend's house the mom from the party asked the girl if she was sure her mom knew she was there and she told her yes. The little girl walked to the party directly from school and she did not have a bathing suit or towel. Once the helicopters were circling, the party mom had an "Aha" moment and called the girl's mom. I am very glad she was found safe!!

I tried to persuade Bob to go to the movies to see the new Indiana Jones movie. No luck. :(

I might have to go by myself!
If you go, let me know what you think.

You can "sneak" in lots of trips during the year. :rotfl2:

I am glad too. But if that were my daughter she would not be attending parties for a long time!

We just got back from the pool. It was SOOOOO refreshing. Now Nicholas has a friend sleeping over, the pizza is in the oven and we rented several movies from Blockbuster. The line-up is: Firehouse Dog and Star Wars IV. Alyssa got a Hannah Montana movie to watch.

I am feeling the same way. I was melting at Riley's game today & kept thinking it is going to be so much more worse than this in Aug. at Disney :faint:

I thought Nicholas's baseball game was going to be canceled, as they canceled some of the leagues, but not his. I guess his field isn't one with lots of storm damage issues. Great. He will be glad though, since it's his first game. Me, not so much. I don't know how I'm going to handle WDW in August. What was I thinking?!?!?

How sweet :goodvibes

We received another surprise package yesterday! Thank you Karen for the adorable outfit, towels, and washcloths! We really appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity! :goodvibes

Elin - Enjoy the movie!

Debbie - Mom started having some dental work done back at Thanksgiving (YES, that long ago!) but then it was so complicated and expensive that she just gave up. Now she's worried about leaving the teeth, because if she is having chemo and they get infected she won't have any immunity to fight it off. Of course she should have had the teeth taken care of while she was waiting for them to schedule the surgery, but that's kind of her mantra "I should have..."

Sweetie, I am dead serious, but talking John into it is another thing.
It is only 89º here, maybe into the low 90's later in the week.

According to the thermometer in my car it was 99 degrees, just about the entire way home from Lansdale. I think it was 109 when I got in the car. I think it is still about 92.

Our event went well. But I am glad that it is over.

Tammi and Elin- How far is the Shenandoah National Park from where you live??

XH is taking the kids to WDW?! Um, if you mentioned that I TOTALLY missed it! Is he taking them by himself?

I must have missed it too.

Of course not. That would entail too much quality time with his children. He is staying at a friend's timeshare, OUTSIDE of the park :faint: (thank goodness he's not using our DVC :thumbsup2 ), and is going with another family. I offered to let him use the kids APs that I bought last year, if he paid for one of them. So he agreed to do that, which is cheaper than him buying 2 4-day tickets for them, and I am $325 richer. :) I guess they are also going to Universal. So the kids will be down there for a week with him, and then 2 weeks later they go with me. Thinks that's too much?

Do you have any idea how much I will hate it if they win a night in the castle? :furious: :headache:

I think 3 weeks is the perfect amount of Disney time

This is the family that he has been living with for 2 YEARS since he left here. So my kids are used to them. They have a boy a few years older than Nicholas, so he likes that. Alyssa is sorta left hanging though. XH works with the dad. I don't know how they can handle having someone live with them for so long. I could understand a month or 2 until he got on his feet, but come on! But again, XH NEEDS someone to hold his hand and do things for him. Prime example....the other day when they were forecasting bad storms, he leaves me a message asking if I've heard if Nicholas' baseball practice was canceled. I texted him and said they don't notify me, here's the cancelation number. I'm not responsible for feeding him info anymore. If he wants to know what is going on he needs to be proactive and find things out. See....you got me started. I could go on all day. Sorry for the rant.

He probably wouldn't fly off the handle, but I'm sure his eyeballs would roll. :rolleyes2

I had no idea he was living with a family  I bet they'd like to get rid of him by now. I can't imagine :rolleyes1

Dana says $100 for the gift..I say $50! Maybe we'll go with $75.;)

I think that $50 is plenty. At least for this neck of the woods ::yes::

A friend sent this to me in an email and it made me laugh, so I am sharing it with you all:

Subject: FW: FW: THE KIND OF FACE...

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry
has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds
attractive on a man can differ depending on where she
is in her menstrual cycle.

For example:

If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with
rugged and masculine features.

However, if she is menstruating, menopausal or post
menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man
with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in
his forehead while he is on fire.

No further studies are expected.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm glad she was not hurt though I might have hurt her myself when she got home :scared1:

I am glad too. But if that were my daughter she would not be attending parties for a long time!

I agree
