DDA Chapter 8

Beth, I would imagine the CMs are pretty flexible at ToT, so when you go through the first time I would ask if you can do some sort of rider switch.

DS said he will try it again, but I think he only said it because DH keeps pestering him.

Becky really disliked ToT. I mean really, really did NOT like it. It will be a long time before she tries it again.

I've been calling on CM's since I booked the plane tickets, and the earliest dinner they have for the entire time is 8:55 pm. That's just too late. In the meantime, I have booked Tusker House breakfast and LTT dinner which we have never done before. I'll probably call again for CM's when it gets closer, but I'm not really concerned about it.

I don't know about the green and allergies. If there are things going around the school, it's probably one of those. There was a case of head lice in Miles' class last week! The first one that I've heard about all year, and we're almost through. I need to go get him a nice, short cut.

Head lice :faint: get the short cut ::yes::

Chuck was so funny about getting them to you guys. He says he wrapped them in plastic to make sure they didn't get damaged.

They were well wrapped. A minilla envelope with a piece of cardboard inside. In front of the cardboard was 2 ziplock bags tucked into each other with a white envelope. Inside the white envelope was the prints. Tell Chuck he did an amazing job packing them. Even my postoffice didn't damage them ;)

Here's something that I'm a little afraid to ask on another board...

Miles isn't particularly fond of ToT, but he'd probably ride it at least once with us. Laura's favorite ride of all is ToT, and it's one of mine, too. So we will probably want to ride more than once. If we all wait in line together, can Laura go while I wait with Miles and then I go while she waits with Miles? He is tall enough to ride, so I don't think we can do the traditional "child swap". He is too young to wait alone that long.

Now, you all know that I wouldn't force him to ride and I'd sacrifice my ride if it is best for the kids, but I know the kind of responses people get when they ask these questions.

Thanks!

I think you CAN do the child swap. He doesn't want to ride and isn't old enough to be left alone so I can't see why they wouldn't let you. Give it a try :thumbsup2

I got an appointment for Nick at 11:15. My Dad will bring Colby to school so that we can make the appointment. Of course the Nurse is SURE that it is just a cold. I'm not so sure as 3 weeks seems excessive for just a cold.

I am officially on summer vacation (for two weeks) and have spent the morning unwrapping gifts and writing thank you notes.

I am going to pour myself another cup of coffee and sit on my patio before tackling my garden work.

Hope your days go well, friends! :)

I have heard of adults without children, getting the child swap pass. IMO that should not happen.

But I think that you should be able to use a child swap for Miles. He is still a child who needs supervision at WDW so you should be able to use a child swap pass.

Beth I wouldn't think it's a problem at all. I would do it myself if I was in your shoes.

Well, it's progress! That's weird about Tusker. I wonder what they are doing at AK? Were you tryng to get the Fantasmic package or just a plain ADR? I agree that the choices at MGM aren't great. We've never been to Mama Melrose and the menu at Brown Derby doesn't do anything for me so the choices are H&V, Sci Fi & 50's. We're doing Flying Fish on one of our MGM days.
We had lunch at Sci Fi last summer and it wasn't that good. We already knew that, but DS like to go there.
Yep, so whenever the hours do come out, if AK closes early my whole plan may get rearranged, as that is our arrival day.

No, I was just going for a regular dinner at MM. But I will call back when it is my actual 180 day from my HS day. I'm sure they will release ressies that day. If I can get the package, I'll take it, even though we never sit in that side area. We've eaten there a few times and have always had great food and good service. I considered doing a boardwalk dinner, but I don't want to have to walk all the way over there and then walk back for Fantasmic, or have to wait around for the boats. Lazy, I know.

Terry and Steffy, you two could make anything fun! I am going to have to take your attitude with me on our big trip this summer.

I have been firming up more plans for the trip. I now have us traveling through Colorado Springs instead of Nebraska. It's going to be a lot of driving, but we'll plan some fun along the way, too.

Some place in the back of my mind, I remember that I'm going to WDW, too! I really need to start pulling together a matrix of fun for that. I haven't told Laura or Miles about it yet, but I think I will tell Laura in about two weeks. This week and next are regular school weeks for the high school. The following week, she has exams Monday-Thursday and Matthew has exams Friday only. Miles will still have regular school hours through June 25th. I think I'll take her to lunch on that Friday and also tell her the news. I'll let her decide whether we are going to tell Miles in advance or just wake him up to go to the airport!

I still haven't had any luck getting a Chef Mickey's dinner for Miles. I know he'll be a little disappointed, but he'll have two new character meals to try (and he'll be in WDW!), so it won't be too bad.

I gotta agree, Terry and Steffy could make anything fun!!

Woohoo!! Colorado Springs is a lot closer to me than Nebraska!!:rotfl: Actually it's our favorite in state place to go to play.

Yay for vacation! I will be doing what you are doing in a little less than 2 weeks! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Deb-I hope it's something simple and doesn't travel around your house.

Robyn-your poor girlies!! Hope the antibiotics kick in quick!!

Hi kids - I thought I'd let you know

I just got a call from Kristine - they are currently in the new Toy Story ride at HS. They have been stuck for more than 1/2 hour and the lights are on. She took some pictures but she told me Little Green Men are taking her hostage and I'm to alert her loved ones that it may be death by Woody.

At least she's keeping her sense of humor!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I hope that they get out alive. I can't wait to hear the stories and see pictures from Kristine on her trip report.

Hi Marti! Why do I get the feeling that this could only happen to Kristine??!? Although I must say, if I have to die, being killed by a Woody would be the way I'd want to go! :duck: ;)

Back to my Tusker House dilemma.....would it be because AK closes at 5 that day that they do not have dinner hours? That would mean TH only serves dinner during EMH.

Great! Do you have any suggestions for me? One friend mentioned that cog railway to the top of Pike's Peak, but that would run $150+ for our family! :scared1: Any idea if it is worth that price. This is vacation and all, but that seems a bit steep (no pun intended :rotfl: ). Also, We aren't going to have a lot of time in the area...maybe an evening and then half a day. I can tell you for certain, though, that I won't be driving Pike's Peak highway.

 Hi, Marti! I wish we saw you around here more!

Good luck to Kristine! We were stuck once inside Splash Mountain for 45 minutes on an E-ride night (back when you paid for them). I hope she gets out soon...maybe the aliens heard about the blue dye. :rotfl:

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Becky really disliked ToT. I mean really, really did NOT like it. It will be a long time before she tries it again.

The first time we went on ToT was our first trip to WDW with kids. Matthew had just turned seven, Laura was four and a half, and Miles was about 3 months from being conceived. Matthew flat out refused to even try, but it became Laura's favorite ride the first time she tried it. Back then they did let dh and Matthew wait outside and then Michael came in to ride while I waited with Matthew, but that was before Fast Pass, etc.

Matthew finally tried it when he was 13. His reaction was pretty much "I've done that once in my life and that was enough." He did go once more on our last trip when he was 15. He said it's good once every couple of years.

Miles tried it for the first time on our last trip when he was 7. He didn't much like it and proclaimed himself done with that one. He wasn't terrified or traumatized, but he didn't ever want to do it again. Lately, he has been saying that he wants to give it one more try. We'll see what happens.

OMG!! I was IN THE MALL when that happened!! :scared1: Great. I can't picture where that particular store is. I think I was in Macy's at 10:45. Oh, well. The Channel 8 website says nobody was injured, so that's a good thing.
Yikes!:scared1:

I would do the child swap.:goodvibes

Sounds like a dream trip to me. I am so glad you two were able to get away fr a couple of days.

And, Stephanie... thanks for making me laugh out loud this morning! :goodvibes
You're welcome Elin! :goodvibes Enjoy your vacation!

Killed by a Woody. My death of choice.....:rotfl2: :cool1:

I'm going to try to squeeze a hair cut for Miles in today when he gets home from school. I should get one, too, but probably won't quite yet. I don't know what I want, but I do know that I have several inches of split ends that need to come off.

I'm wondering if Nick has a sinus infection. I'm glad that you were able to get an appointment for him. He should be going in just about now. pixiedust:
