Grrr.
DS got hit in the face with a tire swing at school, so now the frames of his glasses are all bent. Not sure if they can be fixed or if we get to pay for replacements.
I went to school to drop off his other glasses and assess the damage to DS. His eyebrow is scraped, but he doesn't look too bad. I think he was embarrassed, and I know it hurt. Being hit hard enough to bend the frames had to hurt! He was a little teary when I was talking to him in the nurse's office.
Apparently there were some kids pushing the empty swing, and he was in the swing next to it. He didn't know those kids. Then a kid he does know told him the other kids did it on purpose. I think that's why he was upset. The thing is, he can't keep being that sensitive. If it WAS on purpose then he needs to be tough about it or something worse will happen next time. I almost think he was hoping I would bring him home, but there are only 3 days of classroom instruction left. If he can do ANY sort of work to bring his social studies grade up then he needs to do it! Besdies, he wasn't gravely injured so he didn't need to come home.
Are we sure it isn't summer yet?
