By the way, has anyone heard from Glynis? Shouldn't she be back by now?
NO COMMENTS PLEASE, but my husband doesn't think I have the "guts" to post this picture he took the other day. I can't pass up the challenge, but I really should have wagered something.![]()

No, I've effectively avoided the camera lately.
Here's a picture that Matthew (yes, Matthew!) took last night at King's Island. He's short, so he captured my triple-chin well.![]()

Terry it sounds like a really fun time minus the drive and sunburn. I'm glad you got to spend quality time with your family.
We had a good day at the Post Office. We were finally stimulatedand our postmaster decided that she just wanted to get rid of the Disney pins that she still had so she sold them all to me for $.99 each. She only had 10, but that's 10 more for our trip

I got all of my index cards typed up. I did one for each day and I did separate ones with each parks hours and misc info. Chris thought they were very niceHopefully it will be easier to keep track of ADRs etc since we are dealing with 3 families.
I was wondering about Glynis today too. Wasn't she supposed to fly back last week? Maybe she is just busy catching up at home![]()
Well, I better get off of here and get a nap in.
We are driving up to Sandusky this afternoon, visiting the park, and then staying overnight. We are spending all day tomorrow at Cedar Point, and then the long drive home.
I think I better rethink our clothing choices. It is only forcast to be a high of 65 tomorrow with scattered showers. Brrr... I was hoping for a little cooler weather, but with the lake breezes, I bet we will be cold!
Hopefully I can check back in on Thursday! I am taking the camera so I hope to have some pics to share with you.
Great job, again, on the weight loss.that you make it to the gym at least a few times a week.
Amy, you are gorgeous!!!
My best shot would be a pile of horse poop![]()
I'm sure you will come up with something much much better than that

I hope to post a few pictures tomorrow night.
Chanon - any idea what these 'limited time offers' are that SWA is advertising for tomorrow?
Since I have only stayed at the BC, I really cannot honestly say anything about the GF. But,,,I would want to stay there just once to say I did. Even though moving during a stay at WDW would be bothersome, I would try it just once to try it.
I figure we all put our pants on one leg at a time and everyone picks their nose,,,![]()

OH come on you all do, just like we all scratch our behinds so, what the heck, just one time, stay at the GF.
Let me guess..........hot and humid with a chance of afternoon showers. Am I right?![]()
Jen Happy Birthday to your brother.![]()

Snuggle in for a story, children...
Way back in 1988, our little family made our first trip to WDW since Kristin was born and our first stay on property. We were at the Polynesian. Bob sat on the beach (and on our balcony and around the pool) watching the Grand being built. The construction fascinated him since he is a designer and in the building business. He said over and over that one day he really wanted to stay there. Every trip to WDW he repeated that vow.
Fast forward 14 years to December 2002. Kathrin had been dating the same young man for 4 years and he had also been to WDW with us on numerous trips, mainly at Christmas. He had also told me that he thought it was a gorgeous resort and one day would love to stay there. So, as my surprise Christmas present to the family I had booked the second half of our stay at the GF. I got a phenomenal AP rate... back when they still offered them during holiday seasons. On Christmas Eve morning I presented them each with a "key to The Grand" which were really key rings I had purchased that fall during my Girls Only trip. I had also been given some GF stationery by a very kind front desk CM that fall. Kristin (who hates surprises and was in on the deal) and I had written new lyrics to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" that talked about staying there. Kathrin and her BF got it right away and knew we were moving. It took Bob forever to understand what I had done.![]()
We moved our stuff from two rooms at Coronado Springs to two rooms in Sago Cay. The grounds were beautiful, albeit spread out. The staff was fine, the people staying there were fine. We were on the monorail, and we could see it as it passed as well as seeing the fireworks from our balconies if we leaned waaaaaaay out. Our rooms were lovely and connecting, which was a nice plus.
Bob finally got to stay at The Grand. After we came home the five of us talked about our stay there and every single one of us said we were glad we had done it. But, upon reflection, we would never do it again probably. We have stayed at every other WDW resort with the exception of Saratoga Springs and Shades of Green. The GF just didn't "do it" for us. It had nothing to do with the people. Yes, there were snobs, but they can be found at every deluxe resort on property, in my opinion. (The worst we have ever encountered were at the BC!) It just wasn't worth the cost of the room and we bemoaned the lack of a good quality counter service location (again, our opinion). We also felt that it was a lengthy procedure to get to the monorail and the bus stop. We just didn't find it to be as convenient as many other resorts where we have stayed. And those reasons made the rooms seriously overpriced for us, even with the terrific AP rate.
There are people who love the value resorts and see no reason to go up to a moderate. There are those who will never stay in anything except a deluxe. There are some, like Anne Marie, who have found a resort that is their favorite and go back there year after year. Disney has made certain that we can all find something that pushes all our buttons, no matter which ones we like to have pushed. I say, give it a try, Anne Marie. The worst that can happen is that you will find a new favorite resort. Or you will once again realize that the Beach Club really is "home" to you and your family.
Deb - yay for the check arrival and for more pins. Our trips are getting closer, aren't they??
Debbie - congrats for taking off your cruise pounds. I hear you about being motivated to "move it." Some weeks I do fine, and others I realize I haven't done my daily exercise in 4-5 days. Keep going, friend... one day at a time!
