I thought Nicholas's baseball game was going to be canceled, as they canceled some of the leagues, but not his. I guess his field isn't one with lots of storm damage issues. Great. He will be glad though, since it's his first game. Me, not so much. I don't know how I'm going to handle WDW in August. What was I thinking?!?!?

It is miserable outside isn't it? Mo has her last soccer game today at 1pm. I think that a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds in 97 degree heat is going to be a ton of fun. Not!!

I took DS to the pool yesterday. When we came back there was a notice on our front door. They are coming to measure my kitchen counters on Wednesday so they can order new ones. Excuse me? I don't WANT new ones, and I was very clear about that last year! Apparently it is a property wide thing, and I can't opt out of it. That should make an enormous MESS. (The replacing, not the measuring.) I suppose i should work on clearing some of the accumulated crap off of the counters so they CAN measure them. Hmph.

I would rather have the cabinets refaced because they are UGLY. When they put the new floor in it was really noticeable how the cabinets need to be redone. But nope, they want to install new counters, which will mean the cabinets underneath will be full of dust. I don't have time for things like this right now! Between going back to work, dealing with my mom, and getting ready for WDW I would NOT have chosen to have my stupid counters replaced!

Good Morning DDA

Gonna be a hot day here. In the high 90's.

I am up this early to say bye to Hal. He is headed down to the Outer Banks. The only good thing about him leaving earlier than me is I have a couple of nights snore free!!!!

I will leave Wednesday and drive down then.

He did not get me an anniversary card but told me I can get a GPS system.

Which one does everyone have and what do you like about it?

We have a Garmin Nuvi 660. We haven't used it too much yet, but will give it a good test on our way to wdw. Of course we have our AAA tik trip and will probably reprogram the Nuvi to match that since AAA is tried and true. Once we upgrade our cell phones we will be able to run calls through the Garmin too for hands free calling. It has a hard drive so we can store music and books on tape on it too. It is more than most people need, including us, but it is fun

If they measure properly you really shouldn't have a mess at all. You will need to empty the top shelves of your lower cabinets in order for them to install the hardware that holds the counters together, but I cannot see why there would be any dust at all.

good morning everyone-
it was so nice to sleep in!!
I have to get ready and go visit with some college friends, but hopefully ill be home to lay by the pool!

We all slept in this morning which is unheard of. It is still very overcast here, but they are predicting a high of 90 today. It will have to warm up a lot though as it is only 64 degrees now. We have a lot of outside stuff going on today. Wash Camper, clean garage, go to dump. You get the picture. Chris works the next two Saturdays so we need to make accomplishments today.

Good luck on your "to do" list! I can't keep track of when DH is off anymore. They make the schedule, then they change it, then they ask him to pick up extra shifts. He was off Tuesday, and I don't think he is off again until next Saturday. He was supposed to be off tomorrow, but now he's not. At least that's what it was the last I heard.

In theory all the units are identical, but the reality is that walls move or shift a bit due to the building settling. Things that appear square really aren't. They need exact measurements in order to cut the counter tops true to the room they are going into. Those measurements will save you a lot of headaches on installation day. Just hope they measure accurately

I got a call from my girlfriend this evening that one of the little girls from the other 2nd grade class didn't make it home this afternoon. We have not heard any updates as to if she has been found as of yet. If you all could spare some good thoughts please send them this way. I don't think Emma knows the girl very well but she does know her. I haven't told her anything as of yet. I am hoping the news will have something to report.

Just bring a BIG bottle of ice water today.

I think you'll be fine in August at Disney..but you can't tour like you do in good weather. (we still do but most "normal" people do not , they take breaks or stay out of the park for part of the day). We go full blast from open to close & every trip I swear we wont do that but then we do anyway.
